    Ray Matthews, the 75-year-old who ran 75 marathons in 75 days is handing over his fundraising total today. 

    Ray from Maltby raised more than £28,000 which will be spent on specialist equipment for disabled children at Newman school in Rotherham.

    Emergency services are dealing with a serious crash in the Loxley area of Sheffield.

    At 09:10 GMT a blue BMW crashed on Back Lane near the junction with Hollin House Lane.

    Those in the car have been taken to hospital.

    Police say the road is likely to stay closed for some time and are advising motorists to avoid the area.

    A homeless man has been left with injuries to his face and body after being attacked by three men.

    It happened at 15:00 at Manvers Lake on Tuesday.

    The man was pitching a tent when the trio, who were wearing tracksuits, beat him up.

    They then stole two JD Sports bags containing his belongings.

    Anyone with information is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police.

    Two Labour MPs in Sheffield have said they want a change in the voting system.

    It's been officially confirmed that Sam Winnall will move to Sheffield Wednesday.

    The transfer still has to be ratified but Paul Heckingbottom has said the Reds inserted add ons which "were important" in the deal.

    Barnsley Council leader Sir Steve Houghton has denied a deal for South Yorkshire devolution is dead.

    Yesterday, plans to elect a regional mayor in May were delayed for a year.

    Sir Steve and Doncaster Mayor Ros Jones also said they want to "explore" a Yorkshire-wide deal instead.

    A legal ruling states the Sheffield City Region has to carry out a consultation on the city region deal again, and it's likely to happen this summer.

    Speaking this morning, Sir Steve Houghton said both options should be put to the public:

    Firefighters are issuing a warning about having a working smoke alarm after a fire in Tickhill near Doncaster.

    A man was taken to hospital on Friday night suffering from smoke inhalation.

    It's believed the fire on Sunderland Place started after soft furnishings were put too close to a heater.

    South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service says the 70-year-old man was saved thanks to having a working smoke alarm.

    They are now issuing a warning to the public to get them fitted and check they're working:

    The club say they're now in a stable financial position.
