    Skipper Danny King believes, if his side is to make a late run for the play-offs, they now need to replicate their Foxhall form when they're away.

    "We've won all of our home meetings over the last four weeks and confidence is high," he said. "Going to a track like Sheffield, which we all enjoy, there's no reason why we can't come away with a win."

    Ipswich Town striker Daryl Murphy believes he can recapture the form that saw him score 27 goals for the club during the 2014/15 campaign.

    The Irishman only managed 10 last time out and has had a shorter pre-season due to his involvement at Euro 2016, although he believes that could work in his favour. 

    "I went straight into training sessions and got away with all the running!" Murphy joked. "It's obviously different from previous seasons but I feel good. It might suit me."

    Everton winger Conor Grant, who spent most of last season at League Two side Doncaster, is set to join on loan.

    The 21-year-old could be in the Blues squad for Saturday's season opener at home to Barnsley.

    A woman has been taken to Ipswich Hospital after falling from a horse in Farnham, near Saxmundham, this morning.

    The woman, believed to be in her 20s, was treated for a serious but not life-threatening head injury, and a back injury, before being taken to hospital by ambulance for further care.

    Witches captain Danny King says it's a good opportunity for him: "It's exciting getting to ride for such a prestigious club and you want to do well."

    "It's a track that Jake knows well, he's on brilliant form and he knows we're going to need another reserve at some point, to replace Ollie Greenwood who left last month."

    Departing three-day captain Tom Huggins believes he is leaving Suffolk, external "in a good place" after 11 seasons with the county.

    "It's good that players are coming through and ultimately that's what it's about. They'll learn from the experienced players and then become experienced players themselves," he told BBC Suffolk.

    "My time has come to move on but there'll be other players, probably a lot better than me, coming through, and that's what you want."

    A man has received a three-year custodial sentence after he admitted attacking a 47-year-old man with a metal bar in Lowestoft earlier this year.

    The victim sustained a broken nose, cuts and bruising to his face and body, and a hand/wrist fracture.

    Ben Moore, 20, formerly of Surrey Street in the town, pleaded guilty at Ipswich Crown Court on 28 July, to wounding/GBH, assault by beating, and possession of an offensive weapon - a metal bar.

    As well as the three-year sentence in a young offender institution, he was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £120.

    The attack took place in an alleyway at the back of homes in Beresford Road in Lowestoft on Saturday, 5 March.

    Departing three-day captain Tom Huggins says he'd rank his 15th and final century for Suffolk, external as one of his best.

    The all-rounder hit 168 not out in this week's drawn Minor Counties Championship, external game against Staffordshire - his final match before concentrating on a coaching role with Essex.

    "It's up there," Huggins told BBC Suffolk Sport. "There have probably been some better innings but coming in this game it meant quite a lot and I did get slightly emotional."

    There were 17 goals in the three Thurlow Nunn League games featuring Suffolk clubs last night.

    The most eye-catching scoreline was Needham Market Reserves' 6-4 victory over Leiston's second string in the First Division.

    In the Premier Division, Brantham Athletic drew 3-3 at Wivenhoe Town while Kirkley & Pakefield lost 1-0 at home to Gorleston.

  14. Man robbed by boy 'aged between 10 and 12'published at 09:36 British Summer Time 4 August 2016

    A man has been robbed by a group of boys, one of whom is described as being between 10 and 12 years old, external.

    The man, in his 60s, was walking towards the bingo hall on Ranelagh Road in Ipswich just before 18:00 on Tuesday, when he was surrounded by three youths who tried to take his wallet, and he fell to the ground.

    A fourth boy joined them, and they took a white Samsung phone, before fleeing the area. The other boys are described as being between 13 and 18, say police.

  19. Emu reunited with owner after county runpublished at 18:26 British Summer Time 3 August 2016

    The one-year-old emu which made a great escape earlier and sparked many calls to police has been reunited with its owner. 

    The emu, from Whepstead, is thought to have been spooked by a fox and jumped the fence which penned it in. 

    It made the 10-mile journey to Glemsford before finally being herded into a stable by Julia Monk.

    Now its owner, Bernard King, has collected the male bird and returned him to his home with his five fellow emus.
