Ipswich Town, external boss Mick McCarthy doesn't believe his side is in a relegation battle, but accepts their form isn't good enough to be in the top half of the Championship table.
Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bristol City has left the Blues just five points above the bottom three, having failed to win successive games this season.
"I've said to the lads we're scrapping to stay out of the bottom half of the table," said McCarthy. "That's where we are with our form.
"With only 17 goals, seven defeats, six wins and six draws the form isn't good enough to have us in the top half so we have to change that.
"I think it's down to the final pass, those finer details, those subtleties in the final third."
