    Mildenhall Fen Tigers, external boss, Kevin Jolly, couldn't be happier after re-signing Connor Mountain for the 2017 National League season.

    Mountain, who will also ride for Ipswich Witches, external in the Championship, is currently recovering from a back injury, but will be fit in time for the start of the new campaign.

    “Connor was always at the top of my list for riders to return," said Jolly. "He's a pleasure to work with and is a fine example to all up and coming young riders. 

    "He's professional both on and off the track, his equipment is always in pristine condition and he will start the season at number one. 

    "He showed last season that it doesn’t faze him one bit going out in heat one."

  2. Man arrested after robbery in which victims were tied uppublished at 14:11 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2016

    A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery which took place in Kersey on Monday, 29 November.

    The two occupants of the house were tied up by three raiders, who'd entered the house demanding money.

    One of the victims, a man, was then punched in the face and head.

    A 36-year-old, from Hadleigh, who was arrested on Saturday, was questioned by detectives and released on bail until 2 February.

    Former Ipswich Town midfielder and Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has left his post as manager of the Wales under-21s and intermediate age group teams.

    The former Welsh international's contract expired last Wednesday and has not been renewed by the Football Association of Wales (FAW). 

    In a statement released by the FAW, Williams said: "It has been a privilege to work for my country over the past four-and-a-half years. 

    "Everyone has played their part on and off the field. I take great delight in our work and the development of all the intermediate squads."

    • All the vehicles seen leaving the "bin area" near Brentgovel Street have been identified and "inquiries are ongoing" although not all the people recently identified have been spoken to
    • The only financial donations they're looking for "are for Sulsar [Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue]
    • "I want the entire world to stop what they are doing to bring Corrie home"
    • "I have a few theories [on his disappearance] but I won't put them on here as then everyone will start thinking the same as me"
    • "I believe the police are getting closer to checking the evidence they have found" - this in response to a question about whether she feels the net is closing in
    • Asked what Corrie was doing between 03:08 and 03:24 - "He sends a picture message at 03:08. He does not get straight up and walk to the rear of the horseshoe. But I have not been shown this. I will now ask"

    She signs off saying: "Hope it's answered a few questions.

    "Thank you all so much for sticking with us.

    "You meant the world to me, Darroch, Makeyan and the whole family".

  9. Corrie Mckeague: Mum praises RAFpublished at 12:02 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2016

    Writing on the Find Corrie Facebook page, external, Nicola Urquhart said: "The RAF have been amazing privately and for the inquiry. 

    "There is not one thing that they have been asked for that they have not provided."

    She also reveals that "there will be a documentary out next week" and promises to share details, closer to the time.

    On the subject of whether any properties in what's known as the "horseshoe" area of Bury St Edmunds, (a loading area close to Brentgovel Street) have a back and front entrance, Nicola says: "Yes, most do.

    "But Corrie would have activated the alarm if he had entered any of the premises."

    She also reveals that his bank accounts "have been monitored and have never been touched", and that she will be asking if there are any plans for BBC Crimewatch to become involved.

    On Saturday, Nick Drane's side lost 91-88 at home to London Greenhouse Pioneers before a 93-80 reverse against Thames Valley Cavaliers yesterday.

  11. Corrie Mckeague: Nicola Urquhart's Q&A sessionpublished at 11:23 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2016

    While a lot of the people who responded to Nicola Urquhart's offer, external of answering questions about her son, Corrie Mckeague, just wanted to send the family best wishes, there were a lot of questions too.

    Several people wanted to ask about the CCTV footage, and whether it has all been viewed - to which Nicola replied:

    • "The CCTV has been watched so far up to 12pm for every camera and up to 1600 on Sat in the immediate area corrie was last seen"

    In response to a question about why it's taken so long to try and get the public out to help look, Nicola says she could have asked for help the day she arrived, but she chose not to:

    • "For a huge number of reasons. Most importantly and with the greatest respect. For as long as the police, sulsar [Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue] and the military along with fire and specialist dogs. I wanted them searching first"

    A police pod was put in place in Bury St Edmunds over the weekend of the Christmas Fayre, to allow people to view the CCTV images which showed about 20 people who were yet to be identified. 

    Earlier in the weekend Corrie's uncle Tony Wringe said: "It was an outstanding success - there are now only 10 unidentified individuals remaining, following the Pod CCTV review."

    Nicola Urquhart said she's planning to get images of the unidentified put on the page, but admits "This is quite a big deal as it's not something the police would normally do. They should be on next week."

  15. Missing RAF man's mum answers questions about his disappearancepublished at 11:08 Greenwich Mean Time 5 December 2016

    Corrie Mckeague's mum has been answering questions online about her son's disappearance, and the search for him that's been going on now for nine weeks.

    Mr Mckeague, originally from Dunfermline in Fife, was last spotted on CCTV walking alone and eating takeaway food in Bury St Edmunds at 03:20 on Saturday, 24 September after a Friday night out.

    He was based at RAF Honington, north of the Suffolk town.

    Ipswich Witches, external reserve Connor Mountain has signed up for a fourth successive season at Mildenhall Fen Tigers, external.

    "Going into 2017 the Championship was my main goal, and I am delighted that I am able to ride for two of my local clubs in Ipswich and Mildenhall," he said.

    "I enjoy being with Mildenhall as it is a real family club with a great group of supporters and I will be looking to hold onto the number one spot all season." 

    The Fen Tigers now have just three places to fill after the earlier signings of Jon Armstrong, Jordan Jenkins and Danny Halsey.

    Ipswich Town, external boss Mick McCarthy's spoken of his frustration that his side can't get any momentum going.

    Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Bristol City means the Blues have yet to win successive games this season and lie just five points above the Championship relegation zone.

    "It's one step forward, one step back and it's going to be a horrible, tense old scrap if that's going to be the case," said McCarthy. 

    "We've only scored 17 goals. We work at that all of the time, all week, finishing, getting in the box, final pass and it looks like we'll be doing more of that this week."

    Town are at home to Cardiff on Saturday.
