    A man's death in Aberdeen is being treated as unexplained, Police Scotland has said.

    Michael Tosh's body was found at Aberdeen's South Esplanade West at about 06:50 on Sunday.

    Police have appealed for help from the public in tracing the 67-year-old's movements in the Torry area of the city from 21:00 on Saturday.

    Mr Tosh, from Aberdeen, was described as being 5ft 6ins tall and had a slim build.

    Three video games developed in Dundee have been nominated for Bafta awards.

    The games were winners in the annual Dare to be Digital video game design competition at Abertay University.

    One of the games nominated for the BAFTAs utilises a virtual reality headset.

    The winner of the Ones to Watch prize will be announced at the at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Games Awards in London next year.

    A man who died when a light aircraft crashed on the Isle of Bute on Saturday has been named as 63-year-old Thomas McGowan of Stonehouse in Lanarkshire.

    A 19-year-old man is to stand trial accused of murdering a woman and trying to kill her 85-year-old partner in their Glasgow home.

    Paul McManus is charged with attacking Isabelle Sanders and Norman Busby after allegedly breaking into their property in Crookston in April this year.

    His QC entered not guilty pleas on his behalf during an appearance at the High Court in Glasgow.

    Judge Lord Uist set a trial due to begin in November.

    A UEFA spokesperson has told BBC Scotland that Legia Warsaw have now asked them for the written explanation as to why Celtic have been reinstated in this season's Champions League competition.

    He said these are now being despatched to Legia and on receipt they will then have three days to make a formal appeal.

    The Polish club published an open letter to Celtic at the weekend requesting a "meeting" to decide which side should progress to the Champions League play-off round.

    Aberdeen chairman Stewart Milne says he aims to have the Dons playing in a new stadium by 2017, assuring fans work is ongoing behind the scenes to eliminate the club's debt.

    He told BBC Scotland: "There's a number of different elements that we're working on to hopefully get to a point where, within the foreseeable future, we could get the club into a debt-free position.

    "If we can get there that puts us in a very strong position to deliver the new training facilities that we badly need and a little bit further down the line hopefully deliver the new stadium."

    A woman has gone on trial accused of a Christmas day murder in Edinburgh.

    Melissa Young, 37, admitted killing Alan Williamson at a flat in Glenure Loan on 25 December 2013.

    However, the Crown rejected her plea of guilty to culpable homicide.

    Parts of the country are still be badly affected by severe flooding and gale force winds.

    The A835 at Ullapool is closed due to flooding and a landslip which is expected to take some time to clear. This will impact on the Ullapool to Stornoway ferry traffic.

    There is widespread localised flooding in the Moray area with very poor conditions on the A96 Elgin to Inverness road and the A98 Fochabers to Buckie road is also closed.

    Trains are suspended between Inverness and Aberdeen because of flooding and an obstruction on the line. There is currently a limited bus service in operation instead.

    Scotland manager Gordon Strachan says both his and Neil Lennon's poor starts in Europe with Celtic are evidence that Ronny Deila can turn things round.

    Deila's team were beaten 6-1 on aggregate in their Champions League qualifier by Legia Warsaw, only to be reinstated in the competition because the Poles fielded an ineligible player.

    Speaking at the opening of the SFA's The Scottish FA Performance School at Heriot Watt University, Strachan - whose first match as Celtic boss was a 5-0 defeat by Artmedia Bratislava - said: "It can be done. It's a test of character, but everybody in football faces these kind of tests."

    A Scottish para athlete has revealed he must have a tumour removed or be left paralysed from the neck down.

    David Smith, from Aviemore, won a gold medal in rowing at the 2012 London Paralympics and was an ambassador for Glasgow's Commonwealth Games.

    In 2010, doctors discovered a large tumour embedded in his spine and emergency surgery resulted in temporary paralysis. He then had treatment to remove three vertebrae and rebuild his neck with metal cages and screws.

    Surgeons have told Smith that the tumour has returned and will cause paralysis if not operated on.
