    A prisoner who absconded from Castle Huntly open prison has been caught.

    Stewart Rattray failed to return to the Perthshire prison after a period of unescorted leave on Tuesday, 5 August.

    Scottish Premiership club Partick Thistle have signed central defender Danny Seaborne on a two-year contract.

    The 27-year-old, who can also play at left back, became a free agent after being released by Coventry City last week.

    He becomes the third arrival at Firhill this summer, joining Ryan Stevenson and Abdul Osman.

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked in Edinburgh's Meadows at the weekend.

    The 25-year-old was walking near the tennis courts at about 04:30 on Saturday when he was approached by two men.

    After asking the man for money, the two attackers punched him several times, causing minor facial injuries, and also tried to steal his watch.

    Both suspects were described as white, in their early 20s, about 6ft, of slim build, clean shaven and with pale complexions. Both were well-dressed and had Scottish accents.
