A £15,000 reward is being offered after a man was fatally stabbed outside a nightclub.

Thomas Kirwan, from Wolverhampton, died after an altercation between a large group of people outside Uberra in the city in July 2012.

No-one has been charged over the 23-year-old's death.

Mr Kirwan's mother, Emer Kirwan, and Crimestoppers are jointly offering the money in the hope it will prompt someone to come forward.

The family has previously offered a £10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction for murder, and now Crimestoppers has added £5,000.

'New information'

Two groups clashed outside the venue and the situation escalated further when after another group arrived and joined in.

Mr Kirwan, who worked in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, was stabbed and collapsed and taken to hospital.

One of his friends was also stabbed and suffered head injuries and is still unable to remember fully what happened.

Six people were later jailed for affray and public order offences.

Ms Kirwan said her life had been destroyed since her son's death.

She said up to 600 people saw what happened and someone must have information.

"I can't bring Tom back, but I can fight and try and get justice for him... that's what he deserves," she told BBC News.

"All I want is for someone come forward and tell us what happened and who has done it."

Det Insp Warren Hines, leading the investigation, said the force was still committed to bringing those responsible to justice.

"I hope the incentive of a reward, not only from Crimestoppers but also Tom's family, will bring new information forward that we can investigate."
