Touchdown - Steelerspublished at 02:54 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Pittsburgh Steelers 7-21 Baltimore Ravens

Another big play as Russell Wilson drops a looping high ball into Van Jefferson to score a 30-yard touchdown to finally get Pittsburgh on the board.

Pittsburgh had not even been in Baltimore's half until that drive, which started on their own two but saw them go 98 yards with Wilson completions of 25, 37 and 30 yards to drag the Steelers back into this contest.

Now, can the defence get a stop?

Russell WIlson is swinging for the fences now, he has to, and he finds Mike Williams for another big gain - this time 37 yards - down the left sideline to enter enemy territory.

Arthur Smith (Steelers offensive coordinator) must be in Russell Wilson's ear saying 'we've got to get the ball out fast, you need to be decisive, get the ball out quick'. Look how unsetttled he looks with his feet, that's not what you expect to see from Russell Wilson.

  4. Big play!published at 02:51 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Pittsburgh Steelers 0-21 Baltimore Ravens

Where did that come from? Russell Wilson is almost sacked in the edn zone but after evading the rush fires a long ball down the middle for Calvin Austin who makes the catch stick despite being drilled immediately by Ar'Darius Washington.

    Tough catch!

Even when Baltimore have to punt just now things are all going their way, as Jordan Stout's kick lands just a few yards short of the end zone and spins back stone dead to settle at the Pittsburgh three, so they'll be in the shadow of their own posts when Russell Wilson emerges from the bench.

  6. Jackson 'looks all right'published at 02:44 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Pittsburgh Steelers 0-21 Baltimore Ravens

Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh speaking to Amazon Prime: "Right now the message is we've got another half to play. The score is 0-0. Let's play our best football one play at a time.

"Lamar doesn't look too antsy to me! He's all right!"

Baltimore get the ball to start the second half, and in a huge shock to absolutely nobody they're running the ball right down Pittsburgh's throats.

    Ndamukong Suh
Former NFL defensive tackle and 2021 Super Bowl winner on Sky Sports

"That Ravens offensive line is doing an amazing job imposing its will on Cameron Heyward and TJ Watt. We have seen nothing from this Steelers defence. The Ravens saw something when they played them last time and have decided to run it down their throat.

"This is devastating football and it's what you want going into the play-offs. Everyone will prepare for their run game but Lamar Jackson can throw. He's got Rashod Bateman and next week he's potentially got Zay Flowers potentially coming back.

    "That is scary."

"Wearing them out and setting the tone. They said they were going to physically push them out of the way. Lamar is their gameplan, crash down and then get Derrick Henry to run right at them and disrespect these people in front of their parents.

"This offensive line is moving people out of the way. You can see their dominance. Lamar has improved. His rating is hot, his accuracy is high. Everything he is doing is at MVP level.

"This is the best offence in the game."

That last touchdown was mesmeric from Lamar Jackson. Is there anything this guy can't do?

I thought Josh Allen had this season's MVP award in the bag but the way Jackson's stepped it up the past few weeks, I just don't know.

He's already won it twice, of course, so continuing this form deep into the post-season is now his key objective having not managed back-to-back play-off wins before.

Pittsburgh have managed just 59 total yards in that first half, with the Ravens a whopping 308 yards of offence. Baltimore also had the ball for just over 20 minutes.

The yardage is pretty balanced in the end as well for the Ravens, with 164 rushing yards and 144 passing yards for Lamar Jackson.

Jackson has 64 rushing yards from 11 carries while Henry has exactly 100 yards rushing and a touchdown.

This did not look like Pittsburgh Steelers football this half. Forget the Xs and Os, just the fight, the energy. We've seen that the last four weeks. We thought in the post-season, it's a fresh start, they're playing the Ravens, a team they've beaten eight of the last ten times.

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin speaking to Amazon Prime after a devastating first half from the Baltimore Ravens: "It's Lamar, man. He's making plays, extends plays when behind the chains, doing designed quarterback runs.

"We've got to be more solid. The way to stop him is to possess the ball and we haven't done that.

"We've got to take it one snap at a time - that's all we can do."

Derrick Henry already has 100 yards and a touchdown for the Ravens

"The only way you stop him is to get penetration, make him reset his feet, he's such a big back.

"When he gets going downhill he has all that momentum and power and he starts throwing people around.

"If you want to slow him down you've got to win at the line of scrimmage, make him reset and go in a different direction."

Pittsburgh are struggling on both sides of the ball.

The defensive side has been their engine and got them out of holes but here their gameplan on defence is almost working against them.

They have challenged the Ravens to run the ball differently and they are running the ball differently. It is wearing the Steelers down.

When you don't have answers, it can be really frustrating.

  17. HT - Ravens threatening a routpublished at 02:28 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    Pittsburgh Steelers 0-21 Baltimore Ravens

It's been all Baltimore in that first half, mainly down to Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry and their punishing running game.

Jackson also showed he can throw the ball too though, just to give Pittsburgh even more defensive headaches in what's been a pretty one-sided affair.

BUT - as we've mentioned earlier, the Chargers led the Jaguars 27-0 at half-time a couple of years ago and still managed to lose. And anything can happen in the NFL...

Lamar Jackson drops back, climbs forward up into the pocket, then does it again and when he's finished with his yo-yo dancing he then fires a pass to Justice Hill, who has a clear pathway to jog in for a touchdown.

That's classic Jackson, with his quick reflexes and quick feet he's able to dance around and extend players at will - including this one which helps Baltimore into a huge lead now.
