This will always be a physical game but although (receiver) George Pickens is back for the Steelers, it's just not firing for them as it was earlier in the season.

Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson has taken this new approach - pretty much since losing to the Steelers in November - where he's taken control of the offence and run the ball more, so I see the Ravens coming out on top.

Who else did Phoebe predict to win in the Wildcard Round?

A third meeting this season between heated enemies Baltimore and Pittsburgh, with the Steelers dominating this rivalry by winning eight out of nine before being thumped in the last meeting.

Head coach Mike Tomlin seemed to be MVP candidate Lamar Jackson's kryptonite, but the wheels came off Pittsburgh's season down the stretch. Being without injured wide receiver Zay Flowers will hurt Baltimore so expect Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry to run them to victory.

This has gone against everything. Justin Herbert is one of the cleanest quarterbacks in the game in terms of his interceptions, and he's already doubled what he's done all season. That's what the play-offs can do to you. Big stages, big moments.

    LA Chargers 12-32 Texans

The Texans are in victory formation here.

A swathe of red celebrates as CJ Stroud makes it back-to-back victories in the Wildcard Round of the NFL play-offs.

We did not see that coming in the first half.

Weren't the Chargers favourites for this one?

    It's been a brutal night.

    Another interception for Justin Herbert.

More in 60 minutes today (four) than over the entire season (three).

This time it's Texans cornerback Derek Stingley Jr who is leading the celebrations after plucking Herbert's attempted pass to DJ Chark out of the sky.

Mixon pointed out this feels like 2021 with the Cincinatti Bengals, with the formula they had and how they reset for the play-offs.

They ended up going to the Super Bowl.

Joe Mixon was snapped up by the Texans last summer after seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.

He has played in a Super Bowl so his experience will be crucial if Houston want to go deep in this play-offs.

Joe Mixon has started the play-offs as he started the regular season, with over 100 yards.

    That ought to do it.

This drive has featured 12 Joe Mixon runs and he finishes it off in fitting style, strong-arming LA linebacker Daiyan Henley and pounding through from 17 yards.

Ka'imi Fairbairn does the rest with the extra point.

Hard to see any way back now for the Chargers.

Two timeouts in quick succession for the Chargers as the Texans continue to bleed the clock.

Penny for the thoughts of quarterback Justin Herbert who looks rueful on the sidelines. He needs his defence to get him the ball back.

Eek that's close - but the ruling on the field stands.

The Texans offence stays out for a fourth and one and CJ Stroud scuttles over the line.

Fresh set of downs for the home team who've drained six minutes already with this drive.

At this stage of the game I think it's an excellent decision to challenge the call. Even if you lose it it gives you time to decide what to do on fourth down.

The clock is not the Chargers' friend at the moment with the Texans gritting together a run-heavy drive.

Guts from CJ Stroud too on third and long as he scrambles through coverage to move the chains.

But is he a yard short of first down? That's the ruling on the field. Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans challenges the call.

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh is pacing up and down on the sideline. He looks thoroughly fed up.

Meanwhile, Texans running back Joe Mixon continues to chip away at mid-field as he gets a couple of first downs.

    Thinking about going to bed??

Not only are we in for a huge 10 minutes here, but we've got the small matter of an AFC grudge match between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers coming up in half an hour.

    Don't go anywhere!

This is just getting silly now.

There have been some absolutely bonkers plays tonight and that's probably the most ridiculous yet.

If this is anything to go by for this year's play-offs then we're in for a treat!

  19. Texans block PAT to score!published at 00:27 Greenwich Mean Time 12 January

    LA Chargers 12-25 Houston Texans

    This game has gone mad.

Cameron Dicker lines up the extra point but the Texans defence blocks his attempt.

As it breaks free, Dicker cannot catch it, D'Angelo Ross picks up the loose ball and charge to the end zone to collect two totally unexpected points for the home side.

Just when the Chargers thought they were back in the game.

Big-time throw by Herbert. He knew he had to make a play. Between two defenders, McConkey going up and getting it. You've got to force the ball because you've got to make a play.
