Seven-time Super Bowl winner on FOX

There's a lot to like about Nick Sirianni [Eagles head coach].

He's the nicest guy in the world for six days a week, then this fierce competitor suddenly comes out!

This one could be a levelling up from the refs here as Jalen Hurts throws a high ball over Dallas Goedert's hands but a flag flies in for a hit to the head by Trent McDuffie.

That, again, looked a very soft call to say the least - wonder if that flag would've come in had the first OPI not been called on the Eagles?

  3. Deadly Dallaspublished at 23:59 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

Dallas Goedert, who we picked out in our tactical preview, finds acres of space in a soft zone coverage to haul in a 20-yard catch and first down just over midfield.

Nice to see one Dallas can show up in the play-offs....

  4. Protect Patrickpublished at 23:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

The one Super Bowl Patrick Mahomes lost was to Tom Brady's Tampa Bay Buccaneers - when the Bucs defence just ran the CHiefs offensive line ragged and Mahomes was on the run on almost every play.

The Chiefs need to stand up and protect him better if they're to win this one.

  5. 'Chiefs need to stop the run now'published at 23:57 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

    Jason Bell
    Former NFL cornerback on ITV

Both these defensive lines are ready to play. Now the Chiefs defensive line has to stop the run.

The pressure of the Eagles, forcing Mahomes to his left and containing him... it's going to be great to see all game because the Eagles are not afraid of this Chiefs team.

  8. No good!published at 23:54 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

Where is Patrick Mahomes going!? He's chased for his life by this fierce Eagles pass rush and he's sent scurrying back towards his own end zone before lobbing a ball down the sideline that's almost picked off!

The ball drops and KC punt it away. No score yet but two very eventful opening drives and it's fair to say these two teams are jacked up for this one!

The refs can't call that [offensive pass interference] on the first drive of the game! You've got to let them play.

A statement of intent from the Eagles.

Very harsh offensive pass interference call. Barely a glance on the helmet.

But Nick Sirianni is not playing scared - they're coming out hard.

  11. First downpublished at 23:51 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

JuJu Smith-Schuster takes an 11-yard catch for a first down on the first play of the day from Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offence.

If you saw that pass interference call - good call or no?

  13. Eagles puntpublished at 23:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

Philly have to punt it away which is a huge disappointment after what was shaping up to be a scoring drive. On the plus side, the aggressive play calling was good to see and Jalen Hurts looks to have the deep ball working well.

Watch out for more of those long shots to Brown - who had a big game when these two met in the Super Bowl in 2023.

  15. Wait - huge flag!published at 23:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

Oh double wow! That massive completion for the Eagles is chalked off by the refs for offensive pass interference on AJ Brown - looks a bit soft.

You don't get a lot of OPI calls in general and to get one so early in the Super Bowl is tough. That won't help with the conpiracy theories...

  16. Huge play!published at 23:46 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

Wow! Jalen Hurts out of the shotgun and not the tush push, and they go for a deep shot instead with AJ Brown galloping down the sideline and he takes in a huge catch.

  17. Great tacklepublished at 23:45 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

Nick Bolton comes flying forwards to tackle Saquon Barkley behind the line of scrimmage to force a long third down.

Jalen Hurts takes off though and gives them a fourth down and two - tush push time!

  18. First down!published at 23:44 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-0 Philadelphia Eagles

The first one of the game and it comes after Jalen Hurts is fliushed out of the pocket, and as he scrambvles DeVonta Smith finds a gap by the sideline to move the chains.

Watch out for Smith tonight, as the Chiefs have been among the worst teams in the league covering slot receivers, and that's where he'll line up.

Jalen Hurts had an unbelievable performance in Super Bowl 57 two years ago. He's going to need to have a similar game today.

  20. Postpublished at 23:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 February

Guess what? Saquon Barkley gets the first carry of the game - a four yard run with Chiefs all over him.
