Kansas City Chiefs 0-24 Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley now has the record for most rushing yards in an NFL season

With that run to finish the first half, Saquon Barkley has surpassed Terrell Davis for most rushing yards in a season.

He needed 30 yards in the Super Bowl to beat 2,476 - and he's just achieved it.

    Kudos.

  2. Where's it going wrong?published at 01:24 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

The Chiefs have built their season on playing tight games, not making mistakes and then allowing Patrick Mahomes to win games for them late on.

Well, nothing has gone right for them so far - they've not managed to keep Mahomes safe in the pocket, they've not converted on third downs, which they've been one of the best in the league at this season, and they've had too many turnovers.

They get the ball first in the second half - they simply have to score....

  4. Biggest comeback in Super Bowl historypublished at 01:23 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-24 Philadelphia Eagles

The Chiefs have one hell of a mountain to climb in the second half if they are to achieve a historic three-peat. But it's not an impossible task.

In 2017, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots pulled off the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history. After trailing the Atlanta Falcons 28-3 at half-time, the Patriots roared back to win 34-28 after overtime.

Can Patrick Mahomes inspire a similar comeback?

  5. Little to cheer for Taylor Swift so far as Donald Trump salutes US anthempublished at 01:22 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Taylor Swift - making her second Super Bowl appearance - hasn't had much to cheer about yet as it has been all Eagles so far this first half.

She is just one of the many A-list stars watching on from inside Caesar's Superdome.

During the first half we've spotted Adam Sandler interacting with Sir Paul McCartney and have also seen the likes of Paul Rudd, Pete Davidson, Nikki Glaser and US President Donald Trump.

I'm guessing it will be something along the lines of 'come on guys, this is Not Like Us'.

  8. Which half-time adverts should we keep an eye out for?published at 01:17 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-17 Philadelphia Eagles

Super Bowl ads have become a cultural phenomenon over the years. With millions of viewers expected to tune into the broadcast this year, companies who’ve managed to secure a coveted ad spot have funnelled their creativity and dollars into crafting a one-minute-or-less clip with the hopes that people will remember and talk about it long after the game is over.

Given that the Super Bowl is probably the only time when people willingly watch ads, prices for a slot have reached a record. A few spots were reportedly sold for $8m (£6.4m) and even $8m-plus for 30 seconds, according to BBC’s US partner CBS.

Some commercials have already been released and have got people talking, such as Google’s ad for its AI tool, Gemini, which was re-edited after it got flak for overestimating the global appetite for Gouda.

Also on this year’s roster is a plug for Bud Light featuring US singer Post Malone and American comedian Shane Gillis partying it up outside a suburban home, which has racked up about 600,000 views on YouTube after its release seven days ago.

Other ads include a commercial for Haagen-Dazs, which brings viewers to the world of the film franchise Fast and Furious as Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez reprise their roles as they speed through a scenic road while eating - you guessed it - ice cream.

Beyond the star-studded ads, beer brand Coors Light has opted to make a sloth the centre of attention in its one-minute commercial, which sees the animal slog through a case of the Monday blues.

When does the time time come to bench Pat (Mahomes)? Can you even bench him? It's clearly not working for him tonight 24-0 if chiefs don't score on the next drive it's over.

And that's the end of the half - a truly unbelievable half of football and nothing like we expected whatsoever with the Philadelphia Eagles in total command of the Super Bowl.

That is one of the most unexpected halves I think I've ever witnessed in the Super Bowl. We knew this Eagles defence was good, but not this good!

As good as they've been, the Chiefs have been just as bad, with the offensive line getting bullied, Patrick Mahomes getting rattled, making bad decisions and bad passes - and even receivers then dropping catches.

Even on defence, where they've been pretty solid, silly penalties have been costly - it's the exact opposite to how they played to get here.

Some half-time team talk needed by Andy Reid now....

  12. Drop!published at 01:15 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-24 Philadelphia Eagles

When it's not going for you it's not going for you - as DeAndre Hopkins is wide open on third down but stumbles and doesn't make the catch!

It's a simple enough catch for the veteran who has some of the safest hands in the NFL usually - but doesn't that just sum up the Chiefs this half.

The Patriots overturning a 28-3 second-half deficit to the Falcons was THE greatest Super Bowl comeback, but this wouldn’t be far off given how dominant the Eagles / how toothless the Chiefs offence has been.

    Andrew

The Chiefs know how to win but I've not seen them this rattled for a while. And another interception!

  14. Defence wins championships...published at 01:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

I mean, the old adage is defence wins championships - and the Eagles are proving just why right now.

They're not giving Patrick Mahomes a moment's peace and with 90 seconds left in the half they probably just want to get into half-time without conceding even more!

Has Patrick Mahomes just thrown two interceptions, before half-time, in a Super Bowl?!

This really is unchartered territory for the Chiefs
