Summary

  1. Mahomes magic!published at 02:25 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-34 Philadelphia Eagles

That's the Patrick Mahomes-Travis Kelce link we're used to, as Mahomes goes off on yet another made scramble, and manages to lob a shovel pass to Kelce just at the last minute before he's hit.

    That's a first down.

The Eagles fans are now mocking the Chiefs by doing the Tomahawk Chop.

This definitely wasn't in the script.

  3. Big play!published at 02:23 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-34 Philadelphia Eagles

Finally Patrick Mahomes makes a big play, and it's a 50-yarder to the speedster Xavier Worthy. That's the first time KC have actually made it into opposition territory on offence in the game.

Just think about that for a second...

  4. touchdown

Incredible! Jalen Hurts goes deep and launches a huge bomb to DeVonta Smith for another Eagles touchdown.

The whole world thought Philadelphia was going to run the ball there and start seeing the clock out, but the play-action fooled us all - including the Chiefrs defence and Smith showed his speed to burn clear and take a nice diving catch.

It was also a magical deep ball from Hurts for ther 46-yard touchdown. Some play!

I think it's over already. I've been in these games - it's demoralising.

Part of this game has to go on Andy Reid. We beat Buffalo by getting the ball out quickly and rushing well. We've done neither of those at all today.

  7. Will Chiefs set unwanted record?published at 02:18 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-27 Philadelphia Eagles

A few significant records that are on the line tonight:

    • Fewest points scored by a team: 3 (Dolphins 3-24 Cowboys 1972, Rams 3-13 Patriots 2019)
    • Biggest margin of victory: 45 (49ers 55-10 Broncos 1990)
    • Biggest comeback: 25pts (3-28) Patriots 34-28 Falcons 2017

  8. Turnover on downs!published at 02:16 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-27 Philadelphia Eagles

The Chiefs have to go for it on fourth down, but the pass out wide to DeAndre Hopkins is off target and almost picked off.

It doesn't matter though as Philly will now take over and in great field position as well.

Patrick Mahomes with one of the best maze-up runs you'll see in the Super Bowl - but it's coming back for a hold against the Chiefs!

What a run that was - for nothing!

  10. Has there ever been a shutout in the Super Bowl?published at 02:13 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-27 Philadelphia Eagles

The Chiefs came into this Super Bowl looking to make history, and they might still do that.

As things stand, the Chiefs will become the first team ever to get shut out in a Super Bowl.

The lowest points return in a Super Bowl is three points, last achieved by the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.

The Chiefs are not able to protect Mahomes and their run game isn't there either.

DeAndre Hopkins takes his first catch of the game as the Chiefs get a rare first down - Patrick Mahomes this time rolling straight out to his right and not waiting around for the Eagles to find him.

Nothing in these first three quarters suggests the Chiefs are capable of putting together anything even remotely like what we're used to from Patrick Mahomes.

And not just in terms of scoring points - but just in terms of completions!

  14. Has Kendrick won the beef with Drake?published at 02:09 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

    Peter Gillibrand
    BBC Newsbeat, reporting from Southport

The crowd here at the Irish bar in Manchester belted out the lyrics from Kendrick's song Not Like Us - "and it's probably A minor."

That is the song that won him a number of Grammys and is part of the rapper's beef with Canadian rapper Drake - who is taking legal action for defamation.

"He could have come on and been silent for 15 minutes and I would have been number one," Monica, 25 tells me, "I love that man dearly."

With the game itself, the Manchester Titans were chatting away, but when the half-time show happened - they were all immersed in the performance.

Monica's boyfriend, Josh, 26 is a big Kendrick fan: "Class. Absolutely amazing. He played all the good tunes and he played Not Like Us as well - I can't complain."

But Monica would have liked to have heard Bad Blood - a song featuring Taylor Swift, who is there supporting her boyfriend, the Chiefs player, Travis Kelce.

"I'll get over it - The minimal guests actually made it."

When I asked them how they think Drake felt... well they pinched their fingers together and said: "This big".

In terms of the Kendrick v Drake beef, the crowd tells me there's a clear winner after the Grammys and the half-time show... and it's Kendrick.

  15. field goal

The Chiefs manage to keep the Eagles out of the end zone, which is something I suppose and good for them as they've been on the field a ton tonight facing this hefty Philly offensive line.

So Jake Elliott trots out to boot a 29-yard field gol to stretch the lead to 27 after a pretty safety first drive by Philadelphia but still enough in it to get points.

The Chiefs have two opponents right now - the Eagles and the clock. They have got to be aggressive.

We're deep into the 3rd quarter, and Kansas still look like they have nothing. Can't see them even scoring a single point right now

  20. Barkley the receiverpublished at 02:02 Greenwich Mean Time 10 February

Kansas City Chiefs 0-24 Philadelphia Eagles

Saquon Barkley is now making catches as a receiver, and a big one as well as it's for 22 yards to get Philly back into the red zone.

He was falling backwards as he took that as well so that's a great effort even with a bobble in there.
