Just under a year ago, having beaten Zhilei Zhang to pick up a fifth successive win, Joseph Parker took to social media to call out heavyweight rival Dillian Whyte.

It wasn't your traditional run of the mill message, though, with the New Zealander opting to lip sync to Take That's 'Back For Good'.

If you haven't seen it yet, then it's well worth 30 seconds of your time!

  2. Can Sheeraz stop Adames?published at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Adames v Sheeraz

Pie charts showing Hamzah Sheeraz's knockout percentage

Hamzah Sheeraz has stitched together a seriously impressive record since making his professional debut in 2017.

The Ilford fighter is yet to taste defeat and has earned a reputation for getting the job done in quick fashion.

He has only been beyond the second round once in his last five fights - stopping Austin Williams in round 11 last year - and, as can be seen in the graphic above, boasts an 81% knockout ratio across his 21 professional bouts.

WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames has only lost one of his 25 fights and that defeat came by decision.

Has Sheeraz got what it takes to hand Adames a second loss? And can he do it inside the distance?

  3. 'I'm still edging towards Sheeraz'published at 19:17 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Steve Bunce
Boxing expert on BBC Radio 5 Live

When this was first announced, I had a quick look and thought, 'I fancy Sheeraz'. He's young, we know he's dangerous, he's been at the weight, and we know he's committed. But I now think it's a harder fight.

I'm still edging towards Sheeraz, don't get me wrong, but I don't fancy him as strongly as I did two weeks ago.

Briton Hamzah Sheeraz has been on a steady ascent to the top of the middleweight division and he gets his chance to claim gold tonight.

Sheeraz, who is undefeated in 21 professional contests, meets WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames.

The 25-year-old has 17 stoppage wins on his record with his last 15 fights ending inside the distance.

Sheeraz has shown great professionalism thus far in his career and isn't looking beyond Dominican opponent Adames, but he's confident of picking up titles in multiple division in the years that lie ahead.

"He's a world champion for a reason," Sheeraz told BBC Sport. "He can punch hard, he's fast and strong. So let's see what Hamzah Sheeraz is all about on the world stage.

"The plan is to become world champion at middleweight, super-middleweight and light-heavyweight."

Smith beats Buatsi by unanimous decision

WBO 'interim' light-heavyweight champion Callum Smith, who previously held the WBA world super-middleweight title, speaking to DAZN: "I feel good. It wasn't perfect. I was the underdog tonight and it got my back up a little bit that [people said] I'm finished.

"I feel like I'm good enough to be a two-weight world champion.

"It wasn't a perfect performance, I took a few rounds off at the end. Buatsi is a good fighter and I knew I had to be back to my best tonight."

  12. Smith edges Buatsi in terrific light-heavyweight contestpublished at 18:30 Greenwich Mean Time 22 February

    Buatsi v Smith

    Kal Sajad
    BBC Sport boxing reporter

In the first fight of the night, light-heavyweight Callum Smith inflicted a first career defeat on Joshua Buatsi with a unanimous points decision win.

Both men enjoyed success in a high-level back-and-fourth encounter - one which could have headlined a UK arena.

Liverpudlian Smith targeted Buatsi's body early on and hurt the Olympian with a hook in the sixth. Buatsi came back strongly, utilising his jab and landing power punches of his own as former super-middleweight world champion Smith, bloodied by a cut to his eye, and tired.

Smith was awarded the decision with scores of 115-113, 116-112 and a rather absurd and harsh 119-110.

The 34-year-old becomes the WBO 'interim' champion while Buatsi, 31, is defeated in his 20th pro fight.

    Welcome along!

Another eventful fight week is behind us. We've had two drop-outs, including IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois, two late call-ups, with one of them making a mad dash from the Democratic Republic of the Congo over the last 48 hours and the other - Josh Padley - downing tools from his day job as an electrician to fly out to Saudi Arabia for a world title shot.

Thankfully, there has been no drama with the main event as we get to see undisputed light-heavyweight champion Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol go at it for a second time.

For now, sit back and relax as we prepare for three world title fights.
