They're very superstitious these opening batsmen, Zak Crawley always opens.

Why give Zak Crawley the first ball against Jasprit Bumrah?

In news that will shock absolutely no one, Jasprit Bumrah has the new ball in hand and will bowl the first over...

I think we'll see a couple of overs from Ravindra Jadeja, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and maybe one other.

It's going to be a tricky little period of play.

Jasprit Bumrah and the India bowlers are out warming up and, with no sign of the England openers yet, it looks like it might be a little under half an hour that they have to bat before stumps.

Headingley has been a good chasing ground in recent years and the sun is shining - but this pitch has started to do a bit today.

England require the second highest successful chase in Tests on this ground to win.

India are the overwhelming favourites, according to WinViz.

England are given just a 17% chance of knocking off these runs but it is worth pointing out that chased 378 to win the last home Test they played against India - and, yes, Jasprit Bumrah was playing that one.

If the rain forecast for tomorrow comes through, the draw might jump up a bit from that 5%, too.

  8. England need 371 to winpublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 23 June

After all that, England need 371 to win the first Test.

Knowing this side, they will fancy it as well.

They've got bang on half an hour to bat this evening. That's a spell that India will quite fancy with Jasprit Bumrah charging in on a pitch that started to show a bit of up and down throughout the day.

    This should be fun.

I don't mind that. It's a brilliant catch from Josh Tongue in the end, windy day, sun in the eyes, he got himself in the perfect position

India have done well to get to the position that they are in. Now they've been forced to bowl but it could work in their favour.

England will be thinking about one thing and one thing only, that's the number of runs they need. It will be a tough ask.

Josh Tongue out in the deep, diving to his left. England have finally wrapped up this innings.

Krishna c Tongue b Bashir 0 (Ind 364 all out)

Shoaib Bashir wraps up the innings after a very good catch from Josh Tongue.

India had clearly decided the time was right to hit out or get out as, rather that defend the last ball of the over, Prasidh Krishna has a big swing.

He sends the ball high into the leg side and Tongue does very well to keep his eye on it before diving to take a smart catch.

Plenty of faffing about from England there as Ben Stokes tries to get his field exactly right.

That leads to him being given a second warning by the umpires for taking too long between overs.

England are going to show Ravindra Jadeja something different. Time for a bit of off-spin from Shoaib Bashir.

India’s approach post tea has been baffling. They should be bowling by now, that gives Bumrah a full spell today and he can come in fresh for a full spell tomorrow.

Ben Stokes chooses not to bring the field up with two balls left in the Josh Tongue over so Jadeja is able to take an easy single.

Just one ball for number 11 Krishna to face this time and he just about keeps it out.

I don't know how he's got that for six, there wasn't much elevation.

That's more like it from Ravindra Jadeja.

Full ball from Josh Tongue, in the arc and the left-hander nails it over the leg side for six!

Four next ball, pulled into the gap between the two fielders behind square.

I understand that there are times where you would leave runs but now isn't the time to do that. They should just go for it and if they're bowled out, they aren't in a bad situation.

Once again, Prasidh Krishna is left with two balls to negotiate and, once more, he does just that.

India and Ravindra Jadeja are dealing in singles - one an over - for the time being.

At some point that will surely change.

  20. dropped catch

    So close for England!

Ravindra Jadeja does play a shot in anger, whipping the ball out to deep square leg.

Ben Duckett didn't pick it up straightaway and that brief delay proves costly as he comes in but can't quite get his fingers under the ball as he dives forward.

    Dot ball...
