  1. SA 67-2published at 14 overs

    Target 187

The match-up of Nat Sciver-Brunt to Laura Wolvaardt continues to keep the pressure on South Africa, as the all-rounder expertly takes all the pace off the ball and gives no width to work with.

But the over ends with a boundary as Annerie Dercksen gloves a short ball over Amy Jones' shoulder for four. It would be very tough to call it a chance with Jones standing up to the stumps, she didn't even get a hand to it in the end.

  2. SA 59-2published at 13 overs

    Target 187

    Hello!

If Laura Wolvaardt wants to avoid Charlie Dean, Annerie Dercksen is happy to take the reins.

She clears the front leg and slams the off-spinner down the ground for an authoritative boundary.

  3. SA 53-2published at 12 overs

    Target 187

Annerie Dercksen takes a leaf from Laura Wolvaardt's cover drive manual with a delightful drive for four.

She needs to support the captain here, who is digging in for 23 from 42 balls so far.

Suné Luus looks fuming but you cannot argue with that. You can see all of leg stump and when she watches it back she'll realise it's fair.

  5. SA 46-2published at 11 overs

    Target 187

Annerie Dercksen is in at four, with a big role to play having taken three wickets in England's innings already.

    Luus lbw b Dean 7 (SA 46-2)

    Sune Luus is not happy.

The third umpire deems that there is no edge, and then confirms that ball-tracking is not available so again, the on-field decision has to stand.

She was trying to clip a straight delivery off her pads but missed, and departs for seven from 19 balls.

There's a nervous wait for ultra edge. England make the most of the delay and take a drink.

    Now then.

Sune Luus is given out lbw, but DRS is back working again and she reviews immediately.

    Has she hit it?

It is good not to see a slip in place. Nat Sciver-Brunt is pretty much bowling off-cutters so if she gets one to go the other way I will be surprised. So, to have more on the other side covers more angles.

  10. SA 46-1published at 10 overs

    Target 187

England are wisely looking to cut off Laura Wolvaardt's favoured scoring area through the covers, and Nat Sciver-Brunt is the perfect bowler to execute this plan.

She keeps it simple, bowling wicket to wicket and giving her nothing to work with. This is going to be a big test of the captain's patience.

  11. SA 45-1published at 9 overs

    Target 187

A proactive approach from Wolvaardt to the spin, sweeping Charlie Dean behind square leg for four.

A valuable boundary, as they've been hard to come by in the past few overs.

  12. SA 40-1published at 8 overs

    Target 187

England applying some pressure nicely here after a pretty wayward start, as Nat Sciver-Brunt starts her spell with a maiden.

Charlie Dean's record to Laura Wolvaardt could explain why Heather Knight has turned to her so early.

Dean has bowled 49 balls to the South Africa captain in ODIs, conceding 34 runs and dismissing her three times.

  14. SA 40-1published at 7 overs

    Target 187

Heather Knight turns to her off-spinner Charlie Dean for some control and she gets her wish, just two singles coming from Dean's first over.

  15. SA 38-1published at 6 overs

    Target 187

Two more boundaries from Laura Wolvaardt in contrasting style.

Lauren Filer bowls too full and is pummelled down the ground, before dropping one short and Wolvaardt cuts past point.

The pitch should be helping England's seamers and a couple have whizzed through, but generally they haven't been consistent enough to make the most of it.

  16. SA 30-1published at 5 overs

    Target 187

    Lovely.

Lauren Bell loses her line and offers Sune Luus some precious width outside off stump, which is crunched for four past a diving Sophia Dunkley at cover.

  17. SA 25-1published at 4 overs

    Target 187

Sune Luus and Laura Wolvaardt share a wry smile at the end of another troublesome Lauren Filer over which has Luus ducking underneath a nasty short ball.

    It's compelling viewing.

That is not a great piece of keeping. It's a two-handed grab and she just got completely stuck. She will have to explain that one to me tomorrow!

    SA 22-1

    Big.

Laura Wolvaardt edges one behind off Filer and Amy Jones goes for it one-handed when she could probably get two to it. It bursts out, and the South Africa skipper gets a life.

  20. SA 22-1published at 3 overs

    Target 187

    Wow, that's taken off.

Laura Wolvaardt is fortunate, as Lauren Bell gets one to kick up off a length and pin her on the gloves but the ball lands safely away from any fielders.

Bell then gets one to whizz past Sune Luus' nose, using her height to great effect on this awkward pitch.

And the next bounces at her toes! This is going to be a tough ask for South Africa, there's just no predicting what the pitch is going to do.
