  1. Eng 31-3published at 8 overs

Here's a chance for England to get back on top and put some pressure back on South Africa, with youngster Ayanda Hlubi replacing Ayabonga Khaka.

Hlubi was taken apart during the T20s as she struggled in the face of England's aggression, but she starts really well here with just one run taken from her first over.

England have a big hole now and this is where Knight will get worried. Marizanne Kapp has demonstrated how crucial she is to this South Africa side and there is a lot riding on [Danni] Wyatt-Hodge now.

Historically at Kimberly, the average winnings first innings score is just 199.

After some early wickets, this should be the target for England.

  4. Eng 30-3published at 7 overs

Danni Wyatt-Hodge almost drags on to her stumps first ball!

Kapp is on fire. England are right up against it here, Heather Knight has a big job to do.

  5. wicket

    Sciver-Brunt lbw b Kapp 0 (Eng 29-3)

    Huge.

England's review was obviously one of desperation and they've lost it. The perfect ball to Nat Sciver-Brunt early on, trapped on the back foot by a swinging delivery.

Marizanne Kapp is showing off today, with all three wickets so far.

  6. England reviewpublished at 6.4 overs

    This could be huge.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is trapped lbw, and given out on field. This looks absolutely plumb, but Heather Knight convinces her to review because she's such a big wicket.

Sciver-Brunt had already started walking, which is never a good sign.

Marizanne Kapp's bowling is so fluid and easy. It's hard to determine what you should leave and play when the ball is going down the fourth stump line.

There's not much extra bounce in this pitch at all, so it is quite a good surface.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6.1 overs

    Beaumont b Kapp 11 (Eng 29-2)

    No mistake this time!

Marizanne Kapp is pumped. Tammy Beaumont walks down the pitch once too often and Kapp doesn't miss. A loose shot, completely losing her shape.

A tough examination from South Africa's contrasting opening bowlers, who's stock balls swing away (Kapp) and into (Khaka) right-hand batters.

Historically, Tammy Beaumont is better equipped to deal with Khaka's inswing with an average of 42 against it in ODI cricket, than Kapp's away swing (Avg 33).

  10. Eng 29-1published at 6 overs

Three more to Beaumont as she drops a short ball out into the vacant covers, but in this heat they won't fancy running many more of those!

And it looks like South Africa have had a shocker - ultra edge shows a spike on Heather Knight's bat during that previous over from Kapp when we thought she'd played and missed. Nobody appealed at all, so they've completely missed it.

That - alongside Beaumont's drop on nought - could prove very costly.

  11. Eng 24-1published at 5.1 overs

This time, Tammy Beaumont's footwork pays off. She skips down the pitch to counter Ayabonga Khaka's in-swing, and lofts it over mid-wicket for four.

    Lovely.

  12. Eng 20-1published at 5 overs

Marizanne Kapp lets out a grunt of frustration as she goes too straight to Heather Knight, allowing the captain to clip off her pads again for four.

She responds brilliantly though, beating Knight twice outside the off stump and she cannot believe that it hasn't resulted in a wicket.

Khaka and Kapp are bowling so tightly there's no loose balls or wides at all, which is something that England's bowlers struggled with in the third T20.

  14. Eng 14-1published at 4 overs

Brilliant from Ayabonga Khaka, also showing the value of consistency. She swings the ball in a lot, so Tammy Beaumont comes out of her crease regularly, but the bowler isn't bothered in the slightest and holds her line for a testing maiden.

These England players don't face the swinging ball in training much so facing it in a game at 70 mph is quite rare. That's why the experienced players are much better at dealing with it.

  16. Eng 14-1published at 3 overs

Marizanne Kapp oversteps and gifts Heather Knight a free hit, which she can't make the most of as it's a dot ball.

But those extras are the only runs from the over as Kapp's consistency shows South Africa what they were missing in the T20s.

  17. Eng 12-1published at 2 overs

Ayabonga Khaka starts with a wide, but responds well with her nagging accuracy to keep Heather Knight on her toes.

She then goes too straight, however, and Knight elegantly clips off her legs for four. Positive start from the England skipper after the early wicket.

There's no need for Sophia Dunkley to be playing that at this point in the game. There is was no intention at all from her, she just sat in her crease and let Marizanne bowl at her.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1 over

    Dunkley c Jafta b Kapp 4 (Eng 6-1)

    Revenge!

That drop could still cost South Africa, but Kapp is fired up and that's never a bad thing for them. A good length, forcing Sophia Dunkley to prod, and she feathers one behind.

A tough innings for Dunkley, having been pushed up to open quite last-minute but it's been a difficult tour for her so far.

  20. dropped catch

Beaumont dropped on 0published at 0.3 overs

    Eng 6-0

Tammy Beaumont is put down first ball and Marizanne Kapp cannot believe it!

It was a tough chance for keeper Sinalo Jafta, diving to her right and only managing to get one hand to it, but a chance nonetheless.

And just to rub salt into the wound, Dunkley drills the next ball for four!
