Ben Kellaway and Colin Ingram have extended their partnership beyond 250 for Glamorgan, who are 373-4 against Gloucestershire, just eight runs away from a first-innings lead.

Calvin Harrison and James Sales are still together for Northants at Canterbury - the visitors are 272-2 against Kent, with Harrison now 112 not out.

Ishan Kishan certainly is timing it well.

Kasey Aldridge is a fraction too full and, with a full flourish, the Indian puts bit away for four to extra cover.

He is 60 not out - but almost departs when he leg glances and keeper James Rew is unable to hang onto a diving chance.

Ashton Turner gets a thick edge to a cover-drive and sends the ball flashing through the vacant slips and across the parched Queen's Park outfield to the rope at third for four, his eighth, to move to 75* and take Lancashire's lead to 402.

He and George Balderson are not exactly hurrying, but are moving at concerted pace, let's say.

Archie Vaughan drops short and Jack Haynes pulls to mid-wicket for four. He moves into the 90s.

A glorious front-foot punch down the ground from James Coles races away for a boundary off Ed Barnard to take him to 119* - one of the best shots he's played in his five hours and 19 minutes at the crease.

Sussex are moving steadily towards parity, but they'll need to put the pedal down at some point if they are to build a lead big enough, as well as allowing time enough to take 10 wickets.

Sam Curran bowled beautifully this morning, picking up the wicket of Colin Ackermann, and the left-armer launches the afternoon session as Surrey seek further inroads.

Shane Snater hasn't taken a five-for yet this season, but he'll fancy his prospects of changing that statistic this afternoon.

Snater has three so far in this Yorkshire innings and the Essex seamer gets the second session under way, charging in to Will Sutherland with a virtually new ball.

They still trail Middlesex by 329, however - and you'd think the follow-on will be enforced.

Colin Ingram and Ben Kellaway have posted a record fifth-wicket stand against the Shire after Glamorgan started the day on 228-4 and milked 11 overs of spin before the new ball.

There was no change in Gloucestershire's fortunes with the harder ball as the pair kept the scoreboard ticking over without a chance.

Kellaway, 21, showed mature judgement as he reached the second hundred of the season and his fledgling career off 180 balls, while Ingram took 176 balls to notch up his 16th ton in 59 first-class matches wearing the daffodil badge.

Just 15 behind going into the afternoon, Glamorgan have every chance of securing a fourth batting point and aiming for a three-figure lead to put pressure on the visitors tonight and tomorrow.

James Coles has played a surprising number of red-ball games for a man of 21 in this era. Watching him bat makes that seem less surprising.

In making his second century in nine days, he has seldom looked hurried either in the act of making his strokes, or in the general demeanour of his innings.

The mood may have to change a little this afternoon if Sussex are to convert a strong position on the scoreboard into a serious platform for victory.

Route one to winning might well be to only bat once, but for that to work they would surely want to build a substantial lead, and at lunch – having added 107 this morning while losing only Daniel Ibrahim – they are still 30 behind.

Any sense of drift was interrupted by an amusing spell before lunch as Warwickshire worked through a series of baroque field arrangements, perhaps as much as anything to jolt the batters' concentration. It was well worth a try, and a good sign that though the Bears may have tiring bodies at this point, they still have lively minds.

Nottinghamshire's morning.

Somerset did take the wicket of the overnight centurion Ben Slater, neatly caught behind by James Rew off Jack Leach, but Jack Haynes and Ishan Kishan have defied both the new ball and the spin of Leach and Archie Vaughan to take the visitors to within striking distance of a third batting point and a first innings lead.

The 2,000 or so schoolchildren watching on for the second day in a row have been chanting their support for the home team, but will probably have most enjoyed Kishan's two big sixes.

We have an extended session at Grace Road because of the defiant efforts of Leicestershire's final-wicket pair.

Roman Walker and Sam Wood have so far added 48 together in 21 overs since Chris Wright was caught behind off Tom Helm for 16.

A dominant session by Glamorgan, who go into lunch just 15 runs short of first-innings parity with Gloucestershire.

Ben Kellaway and Colin Ingram have batted superbly to extend their fifth-wicket partnership to 244.

Kellaway was first to his hundred and is 129 not out at the interval, with his experienced South African partner on 113.

Glamorgan have time left in the day, with six wickets in hand, to push on well beyond 500 and thereby create an opportunity to try and force a victory.

Hampshire still have a lot of work to do.

The hosts have added 72 runs this morning but lost two further wickets as the Pears try to force themselves into a position to potential win the match.

Ben Brown and Liam Dawson fell in the session but Tilak Varma remains on 36* with a blend of stoic defence and breathtaking shot-making. The 22-year-old is some player.

Tom Prest will resume on 14* as they bid to bat through the afternoon session to stave off any threat of beginning their second innings today as they remain 389 shy of the follow-on target.

Exactly the sort of session Northants would have wanted when they resumed on 140-1 this morning, needing to score 417 to avoid the prospect of following on.

Ricardo Vasconcelos fell to Wes Agar immediately after reaching his first hundred of the season.

He put on 146 with Calvin Harrison, who has batted through the morning for 108 not out, his maiden century in first-class cricket.

Harrison has so far added 84 with James Sales, who is 27 not out following his hundred against Middlesex last week.
