  1. Lunch at Yorkpublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 236-6 v Essex 368

That double burst with the new ball from Shane Snater ensures that it's Essex's morning - they have the home side six down and still 132 behind.

Yorkshire needed a big score from Jonny Bairstow, Adam Lyth or both - but, although the latter contributed 84, they are now looking to Matthew Revis - who's batted well for his 37 not out - to steer them somewhere close to Essex's total.

  2. Lunch at Chesterfieldpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 271-5

Despite Derbyshire taking 3-43 in 10 overs early on through Ben Aitchison, Lancashire have batted themselves further into the ascendancy, leading by 377 with five sessions remaining in the game.

Michael Jones made an eye-catching T20-style 63 while Ashton Turner has 62* at lunch with the prospect of a lead well in excess of 400 to come this afternoon.

  3. Lunch at Tauntonpublished at 103 overs

    Somerset 379 v Nottinghamshire 322-4

A very satisfactory morning for Division One leaders Notts, who have added 108 runs for the loss of Ben Slater.

The left-handed opener only managed to add eight to his overnight score before edging a ball from Jack Leach to the keeper on 124.

But Jack Haynes and Ishan Kishan have only had a few anxious moments despite a pitch offering help for the spinenrs in an unbroken stand of 93 to the lunch interval.

Kishan cover drives Craig Overton for two fours in the final over of the session to reach 53 not out off 83 balls, with Haynes on 81.

  4. Lunch at the Kia Ovalpublished at 13:03 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 138-3

Plenty of credit to Durham captain Alex Lees, who has hung in there admirably and goes to lunch unbeaten on 59.

Surrey will be fairly happy with their morning, however, with Matt Fisher and Sam Curran collecting a wicket apiece. The deficit, for what it's worth, stands at 682.

  5. Lunch at Hovepublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 385-4 v Warwickshire 415

James Coles is unbeaten on 110 at lunch, with John Simpson 17* as Sussex have closed within 30 of Warwickshire's first innings total, with six wickets still in hand.

They had to settle for three batting points after the quick-scoring Danial Ibrahim fell to Ethan Bamber, the only wicket of the session.

  6. 'Varma has done a splendid job'published at 12:58 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 136-5 v Worcestershire 679-7d

    Dave Bradley
BBC Hereford & Worcester cricket commentator

Tilak Varma has not been rushing around this morning. He's done a splendid job for his team watching wickets go down at the other end.

There's not been many balls that the batsmen have been allowed to leave again this morning.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hill lbw b Snater 0 (Yorks 228-6 v Essex 368)

Shane Snater makes it two wickets in as many overs and Yorkshire are in trouble now.

It looks a harsh decision against George Hill, with Snater bringing the ball back from wide of the crease and also striking him high on the pad - but the umpire's finger was raised and Hill has to depart without scoring.

Will Sutherland comes out to try and see Yorkshire through to lunch alongside Matthew Revis.

It's also another bonus point for Essex, who have three so far in the match to their hosts' two.

  8. Postpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 382-4 v Warwickshire 415

No fourth batting point for Sussex, as Bears have stemmed the flow of runs and 110 overs are now up.

But no second bowling point for the visitors either.

If this game is to end in a draw, which looks highly possible, then Hampshire will edge it 6-5 on bonus points to increase their slender advantage over Warwickshire in the Division One table by a point.

  9. Postpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 136-5 v Worcestershire 679-7d

Tilak Varma saw his strike rate dip below 20 and thought, I'm not having this.

Callum Parkinson has come into the attack for Worcestershire and the India star gets down on one knee to greet him with a swept six and then drove sweetly down the ground for four soon after.

Varma has moved onto 36* and his side are within 400 of the follow-on target.

  10. 100 runs

for Calvin Harrisonpublished at 12:51 British Summer Time 1 July

    Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 246-2

    Calvin HarrisonImage source, Getty Images

Before this match Calvin Harrison's highest first-class score was 63.

He now has a maiden Championship century, brought up in style with a six over mid-wicket off Matt Parkinson.

Harrison has faced 146 balls and has also hit 15 fours in an excellent innings for his side.

  11. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 100 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 308-4

Ishan Kishan is again down the track to Archie Vaughan and lofts him away for six over cover in inside-out style. Great batting by the left-hander, who cuts the next one away for a single and is 41 not out.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 1 July

    Jones c Chappell b Wagstaff 63 (Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 249-5)

A fine knock comes to an end with a fine catch.

After clubbing a four and a towering six off Mitch Wagstaff, Michael Jones eyes up a second straight six, only for Ben Aitchison to catch the ball as he stumbles over the deep midwicket rope and scoop the ball back inside to Zak Chappell to complete the relay catch.

Jones departs from 63 from 46 balls and has put his side into a strong position.

George Balderson joins Ashton Turner to build on the lead.

  13. 50 runs

for Ashton Turner and Michael Jonespublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 238-4

    In back-to-back balls.

A nice half-century from Ashton Turner who smoothly steers spinner Jack Morley into the covers for a single to reach the milestone in 67 balls with five fours and six.

The next ball is cracked by Jones through mid-wicket to the rope, his fifth four to go with two sixes and he's got there in quick time, just 41 deliveries.

The lead is nor far off 350.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 1 July

    Lyth c Pepper b Snater 84 (Yorks 222-5 v Essex 368)

The new ball brings dividends for Essex...

Shane Snater finds a bit of movement and Adam Lyth can only dab the ball through to wicketkeeper Michael Pepper.

The left-hander was given a couple of lives earlier but it's third time unlucky - and just what Yorkshire didn't want to see as he trudges off the field.

George Hill joins Matthew Revis with Yorkshire still 146 behind.

  15. 100 runs

for Colin Ingrampublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 1 July

    Glamorgan 343-4 v Glos 380

    Colin IngramImage source, Getty Images

Ben Charlesworth isn't quick enough to bowl that short to Colin Ingram.

The South African pulls the ball away for his 13th boundary - he also has a six - to reach his third Championship hundred off the season, and 26th of his career, off 176 balls.

It's been a quality knock and it is Ingram's second ton against Gloucestershire, having made 103 when the two teams met in Bristol.

  16. 'Back-to-back centuries for James Coles'published at 12:42 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 367-4 v Warwickshire 415

    Andrew Raeburn
    BBC Radio Sussex commentator

Not the most fluent way James Coles would have wanted to get to his 100 but nevertheless he takes off his helmet and raises his bat.

He's worked and grafted off 218 deliveries, 277 minutes for that century.

It's now centuries in back-to-back matches for Coles in back-to-back first innings.

  17. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset 379 v Notts 300-4

Ishan Kishan appears to have hurt his back in avoiding Archie Vaughan as he scurried for a quick single.

The physio has been summoned, but Notts will be very content with their morning's work so far.

  18. Postpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 231-4

Michael Jones and Ashton Turner are rattling along... they have added 68 in just over 11 overs.

Jones has four fours and two sixes to move to 44* from 36 balls with Turner 49* from 66 balls at the other end.

The Red Rose lead is 335 with six wickets in hand.

Just what Lancashire wanted after those early Derbyshire wickets.

  19. Postpublished at 97.1 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 298-4

    How did that miss?

Archie Vaughan turns a beauty between Jack Hayes' bat and pad.

Keeper James Rew thinks there may have been a nick as he grabs the ball at the second attempt, but it came via the Notts batter's trousers.

  20. 50 runs

partnership for Lyth & Revispublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 220-4 v Essex 368

Matthew Revis has played some attacking strokes so far and he's scored 30 out of this 50 partnership with Adam Lyth.

Technically, Yorkshire have also now avoided the follow-on - they trail by 148 but really need to get themselves in front at some stage today.

Lyth is just 17 short of a hundred, although he is moving a little awkwardly with what is apparently a minor calf strain.

Meanwhile, the new ball is now available and Essex gladly take it, looking to make further inroads prior to lunch.
