    Hampshire 180-5 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

Just signs that Tilak Varma and Tom Prest might be interested in bonus points.

Varma drives beautifully off Callum Parkinson to move to 47, though the spinner almost gets the ultimate revenge from the next ball as he gets the 22-year-old to clip into the leg side, off is pad, and inches beyond the grasp of the diving short leg.

Hampshire have 37 overs to find 70, or 120 runs for a couple of batting points.

The Pears need one more wicket for a second bowling point.

  2. 50 runs

for Matthew Revispublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 264-7 v Essex 368

Matthew Revis, YorkshireImage source, Rex Features

Matthew Revis savages a short ball from Shane Snater, dispatching it to the cover boundary and that brings up his half-century from 89 balls.

It's a second 50 of the season for the Yorkshire all-rounder - his first came last week against Nottinghamshire and left him undefeated on 93.

Same again would do very nicely for the home side.

  3. Postpublished at 113.3 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 366-4

This is great entertainment from Ishan Kishan, who square cuts Jack Leach for four then drives the next ball to the cover boundary. A single follows and he is 76 not out.

  4. Postpublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 420-5 v Warwickshire 415

    Painful one for James Coles.

Oli Hannon-Dalby sends in a full delivery down the leg side and Coles tries to jam the bat down near leg stump to get it away.

He doesn't get anything on the ball but his bat hits the deck, hard, and the batter recoils, taking his hand off the handle and then stepping away to remove his glove and regather himself.

    He remains on 127*.

  5. 'Notts don't rely on one player'published at 14:17 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset 379 v Notts 361-4

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Radio Somerset

It's been a fine century from Jack Haynes.

He was playing a support role for quite a bit of the first part of it when he was in the there supporting Ben Slater but he's just grown into his innings.

There's a reason that Notts are at the top of the table. They don't just rely on one player.

  6. 50 runs

for George Baldersonpublished at 14:15 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 344-5

... from 42 balls with six fours.

A good, quick innings, following Michael Jones' example, and the Red Rose have a lead of 450.

With some summer storms bubbling up in the midlands this afternoon, Derbyshire's best hope might be a telling contribution from M. Nature.

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sutherland lbw b Harmer 20 (Yorks 260-7 v Essex 368)

Simon Harmer strikes and Yorkshire are seven down.

It's the spinner's first wicket today, his second of the innings and Will Sutherland's decision not to offer a shot backfires as the umpire signals his belief that the ball would have gone on to hit the stumps.

Dom Bess comes to the crease with Yorkshire still more than 100 behind.

  8. 'That's Haynes' first 100 against Somerset'published at 14:13 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset 379 v Notts 354-4

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

    Jack HaynesImage source, Rex Features

That's Jack Haynes' eight first-class 100, third century for Nottinghamshire, third of the season and his first against Somerset.

That is a magnificent shot from Haynes, through the leg side and Kasey Aldridge just over pitched slightly.

    Well done Jack!

  9. Sussex creep aheadpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 416-5 v Warwickshire 415

Fynn Hudson-Prentice gets his big rig down smartly to sweep Rob Yates to the boundary at deep backward square leg and take Sussex into a one-run lead on first innings, with five wickets still in hand.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 1 July

    Harrison c Denly b Parkinson 122 (Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 283-3)

Calvin Harrison's superb innings comes to an end as he hits leg-spinner Matt Parkinson to Jaydn Denly at mid-on.

He goes down on one knee and puts his head in his left hand for several seconds in disappointment before leaving the scene, having faced 179 balls and hitting a six and 17 fours.

Tim Robinson is now out in the middle to join James Sales.

  11. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 333-5

Ashton Turner and George Balderson are grinding Derbyshire into the dirt at Chesterfield.

10 comes off the latest Mitch Wagstaff over with Balderson 44* from 38 balls with five fours and Turner 88 not out.

They have added 84 from 75 balls and the lead is 439.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 1 July

    Ingram c Murphy b Akhter 117 (Glamorgan 375-5 v Glos 380)

Relief for Gloucestershire as Colin Ingram uppercuts a rising ball from Zaman Akhter and is caught on the third man boundary.

Ingram batted for 283 minutes, faced 208 balls and hit a six and 14 fours. He added 254 for the fifth wicket with Ben Kellaway, who is still there on 136.

  13. 100 runs

for Jack Haynespublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset 379 v Notts 354-4

Jack Haynes maintains his 100% conversion rate from 50 to 100 this season as he puts away a Kasey Aldridge full toss to reach three figures from 176 balls.

It is his third century of the campaign and he is doing a fine job for the Division One leaders.

  14. Batting bonus point for Yorkshirepublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 252-6 v Essex 368

With these two sides ninth and eighth respectively in the table at the start of the game, bonus points may yet have a bearing on who does and doesn't remain in Division One next season.

By passing 250, Yorkshire have now matched Essex's tally of three bonus points from the match so far.

They'd like to get a lot closer to the Essex total, though - still trailing by 114 with four wickets standing.

Matthew Revis, who's looked strong off the back foot in this innings, steers Simon Harmer for three behind point to lift the total above 250.

  15. Postpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 156-5 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

Signs of some turn at Southampton too where Callum Parkinson has beaten Tom Prest's bat.

Prest has 27* with Tilak Varma on 39 from 139 balls at the other end.

No news is good news for the hosts, in theory, but the pitch deteriorating, with them 373 shy of the follow-on, would not be good news.

  16. Postpublished at 110 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 347-4

    Well bowled, Kasey Aldridge.

Notts need four runs to secure a third batting point and he only concedes one from the over.

The final delivery is a well-directed short ball at the body of Ishan Kishan, who can make nothing of it.

  17. 'You have to experiment as an off-spinner'published at 14:05 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 157-3

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

The other thing you have to do as an off-spinner is experiment a bit.

You've got some runs to play with if you're Will Jacks but you might have to almost buy a wicket.

You see Simon Harmer do that. He's quite happy to give away a boundary to set it up for something a bit later in the over. He's a wonderful bowler.

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 1 July

    Simpson c Smith b Yates 30 (Sussex 410-5 v Warwickshire 415)

Just signs of a bot of turn at Hove.

Rob Yates gets one to grip and turn and as John Simpson tries to drive into the offside he catches the edge and sends the ball into the gloves of the lurking Kai Smith.

The stand of 59 is broken.

James Coles, on 122*, is joined by Fynn Hudson-Prentice with their side still five runs in arrears.

  19. Durham need to bat until tomorrow nightpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 150-3

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Durham have reached 150 but for the loss of three wickets following Surrey's record score yesterday.

That follow-on target is 671 and in simple terms they have to bore the living pants off everyone with the bat today - in a Surrey stylee - and do the same tomorrow. And bat all of the way until the end of this game.

Skipper Alex Lees is leading from the front and has faced 169 balls for his 66. Ollie Robinson has 24.

It is hotter today than it was yesterday but Durham have to make sure they force Surrey into a long and miserable time in the field, just like they had to endure over five sessions at The Oval.

  20. dropped catch

    Dropped catchpublished at 109 overs.

    Somerset 379 v Notts 346-4

Archie Vaughan finds a bit of turn, Ishan Kishan edges, but Craig Overton can't hold a low chance at slip.

For a big man, he didn't have much time to get down to that one and Kishan survives.
