Two short legs in place as Jack Leach bowls round the wicket to the left-handed Ben Slater - but it's the one that drifts on with the arm that brings the Notts opener's innings to an end.

He goes back and tries to push the ball away but keeper James Rew takes a thin edge behind the stumps.

Slater's dismissal ends a stand of 92 with Jack Haynes, who is 47 not out. Ishan Kishan is the new batter.

The new ball is due in a couple of overs time - but will Somerset take it?

  2. 300 runs

300 up for Sussexpublished at 11:22 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 301-3 v Warwickshire 415

Expect there to be a lot of draws around this week, including possibly this match.

If that is to be the case, in a clash between two sides vying in the top half of the Division One table, then the bonus point battle is key.

Another leg-side clip for four from Danial Ibrahim off Oli Hannon-Dalby has given Sussex their second batting point, with 23 overs remaining to try to find at least 100 runs for two more, and also to try to prevent Warwickshire from taking the six wickets they need for two more bowling points.

    A contest within a contest.

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 59-1

We averaged around 200 runs in each of their first two sessions at the Kia Oval yesterday. It's likely the scoring rate may be dramatically lower than that today.

So far, Durham have added three singles from five overs, two for Will Rhodes and the other for Alex Lees.

That's hardly surprising - it's all about frustrating and exhausting the Surrey bowlers for as long as they can today.

  4. Batting point for Glamorganpublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 1 July

    Glamorgan 250-4 v Glos 380

Ben Kellaway tickles one round the corner for a single off Todd Murphy and the Glamorgan total reaches 250.

Gloucestershire are using spin from both ends at the moment - Colin Ingram pulled Graeme van Buuren for four in the previous over adn he is now 64 not out.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:16 British Summer Time 1 July

    Jennings c Guest b Aitchison 58 (Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 123-3)

    Big wicket for Derbyshire.

Keaton Jennings does not like this one bit...

Ben Aitchison angles one across the left-hander who has a big push towards the covers as it shapes away from him.

Brooke Guest takes the catch, Derbyshire celebrate, Jennings shakes his head but umpire James Tredwell raises the finger.

No second century of the match for Jennings, who continues shaking his head as he trudges off.

Matty Hurst joins Ashton Turner with their side effectively now 229-3.

Derbyshire are doing all they can.

  6. Division Two updatepublished at 11:15 British Summer Time 1 July

Glamorgan have made a positive start to day three against Gloucestershire with Ben Kellaway cover driving Todd Murphy for an early four - they are 239-4, with Kellaway 63 not out.

Calvin Harrison is nearing a half-century for Northants at Canterbury - they are 147-1, with Ricard Vasconcelos 88 not out against Kent.

Middlesex are on top but still looking for their first breakthrough of the day at Leicester, where the home side are now 109-8, 425 behind.

  7. Postpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 289-3 v Warwickshire 415

With Chris Rushworth off the field with injury, Oli Hanon-Dalby is going to be busy today and tired tonight.

He overpitches slightly to Danial Ibrahim, straying onto his pads, and Ibrahim needs no invitation to clip neatly across the lightning fast outfield to the short boundary for another four.

Positive start from the hosts, who are closing in on their second batting point.

  8. dropped catch

Dropped catch at Yorkpublished at 11:11 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 150-3 v Essex 368

Golden opportunity for Essex to pick up a key wicket in the third over of the day - and it goes begging.

Adam Lyth edges Khaleel Ahmed to slip, it reaches Dean Elgar at a comfortable height but the South African snatches at the ball and spills it.

Essex may come to regret that if Lyth, currently on 66, goes on to make a hundred here...

  9. Postpublished at 73.3 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 223-3

    Lucky lad, Ben Slater.

Jack Leach finds turn and the Notts left-hander 'nutmegs' himself with an inside edge which runs down to long leg and they take three runs.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:08 British Summer Time 1 July

    Bohannon c Guest b Aitchison 30 (Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 116-2)

    Perfect start for Derbyshire...

Ben Aitchison gets one to move away slightly from the off-balance Josh Bohannon who can only stumble forward and glance a thin edge through to Brooke Guest to take a catch low to his right.

Ashton Turner joins Keaton Jennings in the middle.

  11. Postpublished at 11:07 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 284-3 v Warwickshire 415

Corey Rocchiccioli will continue to hold up one end, despite the ball being two overs old.

Danial Ibrahim made an unbeaten century last week and is aiming to pick up where he left off, driving the Aussie nicely through the covers for the first boundary of the morning.

  12. Postpublished at 11:06 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 59-1

Durham captain Alex Lees resumes the task of occupying the crease for as long as possible by playing out a maiden from Dan Worrall to begin the third day's play.

The left-hander has reinvented himself in recent years, after becoming an early casualty of the Bazball Test regime, but it's probably the case that the 'original' Alex Lees needs to show up today.

  13. Postpublished at 11:05 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset 379 v Notts 218-3

A couple of singles each for Ben Slater and Jack Haynes in Jack Leach's first over of the day. Archie Vaughan will bowl the second.

  14. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 68-3 v Worcestershire 679-7d

Ben Allison takes the opening over of the day and gets his very first delivery to spit up at Tilak Varma, fizzing past his shoulder as he gets his hands and bat out of the way.

Nightmare fodder for the home side, who want this deck to be flat and placid as it looked on the opening couple of days.

  15. Postpublished at 11:04 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 147-3 v Essex 368

Khaleel Ahmed delivers the first over of the day and it costs him four runs, a square cut from Jonny Bairstow that flies to the rope.

Yorkshire will need a few more of those from their skipper as they look to lower this first-innings deficit, which is currently 221.

  16. 'A lot for Hampshire to do'published at 11:01 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 68-3 v Worcestershire 679-7d

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

There's a lot for Hampshire to do today to stay in the game and tomorrow.

It has to be said that Worcestershire have played very, very well especially in the batting department but they also bowled well in that evening session last night.

  17. Play begins at Southamptonpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 68-3 v Worcestershire 679-7d

Ben Brown and Tilak Varma head out to the middle with the intention of staying there, for a very long time.

The Pears would love a couple more wickets in this opening session, to put it mildly.

  18. Postpublished at 11:01 British Summer Time 1 July

    Somerset 379 v Notts 214-3

Right then, which way is this one going to go?

Jack Leach and Archie Vaughan looked threatening on day two and we can expect both to send down plenty of overs at Notts today.

Leach will bowl the first over. Two slips in place.

  19. Start of play at Hovepublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 1 July

    Sussex 278-3 v Warwickshire 415

Corey Rocchiccioli has one ball of his over left from last night, after getting rid of Daniel Hughes.

New man Danial Ibrahim will be on strike, with James Coles 56 not out at the opposite crease.

Can the home side up their scoring rate a bit to push for maximum bonus points?

  20. Under way at Chesterfieldpublished at 11:00 British Summer Time 1 July

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 114-1

Josh Bohannon and Keaton Jennings resume their innings at Queen's Park, with a lead of 220 - one they would probably love their winless side to double by around tea-time.

Unbeaten Derbyshire need a flurry of wickets to keep themselves in this. Blair Tickner will be the first bowler to try and find one.
