    Leics 205 & 115-6 v Middx 534

Leicestershire are doing their best to at least take the contest into a fourth day, with Ben Cox and Logan van Beek holding up Middlesex's progress after tea.

Cox has 23 and Van Beek 16 in a partnership of 35 - but the Foxes are still more than 200 behind overall.

  2. 'Somerset have given up any hopes of victory'published at 17:06 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 v Notts 480-6

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset are just trying to keep the runs down now and keep the scoring-rate in check.

I think they've given up any hopes of victory and just making that they get out of this game with a draw.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:05 British Summer Time

    Wagstaff b Balderson 25 (Derbyshire 71-2 - target 513 to beat Lancs

    Breakthrough!

One ball after surviving a decent lbw shout, Mitch Wagstaff is bowled by George Balderson, who gets one to drift back past his forward defence to clatter the outside of off stump and break the 56-run partnership.

Wayne Madsen will join Harry Came with preservation the order of the day.

  4. Yorkshire all out, lead Essex by 91published at 17:03 British Summer Time

    Yorks 459 v Essex 368

It was fun while it lasted, but the Yorkshire tail have finally run out of puff as Matthew Revis holes out to deep midwicket off Matt Critchley.

It's a career-high of exactly 150 for Revis, coming from 187 balls and including 18 fours and two sixes.

Essex, who had looked likely to lead on first innings for much of the day, will go out to bat for a second time with a 91-run deficit instead.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:03 British Summer Time

    Cooke c O Price b van Buuren 75 (Glamorgan 513-8 v Glos 380)

Chris Cooke plays a fairly limp shot to a ball from Graeme van Buuren and edges to Ollie Price at first slip.

A good knock by the Glamorgan keeper and they lead by 133.

  6. Anderson's 90th no-ball in 23 yearspublished at 17:00 British Summer Time

Derbyshire 69-1 - target 513 to beat Lancs

More on that Jimmy Anderson no-ball (see 16:15 BTS) from BBC Radio Lancashire's Scott Read.... it was just the 90th no-ball Anderson had bowled in 59,493 deliveries in first class cricket, and only his 31st in a Lancashire shirt.

He'd gladly swap that proud record for a couple of cheap wickets here and now, though...

  7. 150 runs

for Matthew Revispublished at 17:00 British Summer Time

    Yorks 459-9 v Essex 368

Brilliant effort by Matthew Revis, who goes to 150 from 185 balls.

He's savaged Noah Thain in this over, slamming two sixes - including one that sailed out of the ground - and a four before taking the single to reach his latest personal landmark.

He and Ben Coad are the reasons this Yorkshire lead is now approaching three figures.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:00 British Summer Time

    Haynes lbw Leach 157 (Somerset 379 v Notts 478-6)

Jack Haynes tries that paddle sweep again but this time fails to make contact with the ball and Jack Leach has his fourth wicket of the innings.

A great, career-best knock by Haynes, who hit two sixes and 17 fours from 295 balls faced - and he put on 105 for the sixth wicket with Lyndon James.

Liam Patterson-White is the new Notts batter - they lead by 99.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 16:54 British Summer Time

    Coad b Critchley 89 (Yorks 442-9 v Essex 368)

    Oh no!

Ben Coad must have begun to let the thought of a maiden hundred to creep across his mind - but he's castled by a flighted delivery from Matt Critchley.

Coad swings and misses, the ball thuds into his stumps and he's on his way for an entertaining 89 - contributing to an incredible ninth-wicket stand of 169 with Matthew Revis.

Out comes last man Jack White, who wouldn't have expected to be pulling on his gloves with Yorkshire comfortably in front.

  10. 150 runs

for Jack Haynespublished at 147.4 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 471-5

Jack Haynes paddle sweeps Jack Leach down fine leg and is able to take three as he passes 150 for the first time in his career off 287 balls.

Next over Craig Overton falls over in delivery stride and lies on his back for several seconds before hauling himself gingerly upright again. A little bit of a limp there now.

  11. Postpublished at 16:51 British Summer Time

    Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415 & 0-0

Ollie Robinson takes the new ball at Hove as Rob Yates and Alex Davies begin the Bears second innings, trailing by 118.

  12. Postpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time

    Surrey 920-8 dec v Durham 290-7

A bit of direct brotherly rivalry after tea as Durham's Graham Clark faces up to his elder sibling Jordan, who has ball in hand.

Sticking around as long as possible is the name of the game for Graham and his Durham team-mates and he dutifully plays out a maiden from Jordan.

Matthew Potts has joined the younger Clark in the middle and has a single to his name.

  13. Postpublished at 16:49 British Summer Time

    Hampshire 221 & 46-0 f/o v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

No news is good news, from a Hampshire perspective.

Ali Orr and Fletcha Middleton have not endured the torrid time they did first time around, 24 hours ago.

Orr has six fours in his 30* with Middleton hitting three in his 13*.

Worcestershire, perhaps unsurprisingly after more than 100 overs in the dirt, are struggling to put them under pressure in these early stages, and have 24 more overs tonight to negotiate.

    The deficit remains 412.

  14. 50 runs

for Lyndon Jamespublished at 16:46 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 v Notts 467-5

Lyndon James steers a ball from Craig Overton down to backward point for a single and reaches an 87-ball 50.

Runs aren't coming at an express rate, but there are still 20 more to be bowled after this one and Notts should be at least 150 to the good by then unless Somerset can break this partnership.

Tom Banton has not been on the field for Somerset today because of an injury niggle, with Josh Davey doing the 12th man duties.

  15. Glamorgan reach 500published at 16:46 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 500-7 v Glos 380

Chris Cooke has now passed 8,000 first-class runs for Glamorgan.

And he cuts Miles Hammond away for a single as their total reaches 500 in front of their own Sophia Gardens fans.

  16. Postpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time

Derbyshire 65-1 - target 513 to beat Lancs

A very handy 50-stand for this second wicket between Mitch Wagstaff and Harry Came, who has bustled along to 32 from 61 balls.

Wagstaff survived a play and miss at Jack Blatherwick, narrowly, moments ago, but Lancashire are not applying too much pressure at present.

24 overs remain in the day. The visitors will want at least a couple more scalps by stumps.

  17. Postpublished at 145.5 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 466-5

The Jack Haynes show continues at Taunton as he square cuts Matt Henry for four. This is now the best score of his first-class career.

  18. 'Kookaburra ball gets soft towards the end'published at 16:42 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 v Notts 459-5

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

They do say that this Kookaburra ball does get very soft towards the end of its tenure and that makes fast scoring quite difficult.

  19. SUSSEX 533 ALL-OUTpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time

    Crocombe c b Rocchiccioli 0 (Sussex 533 v Warwickshire 415)

Make that six for Corey Rocchiccioli.

He finishes with two in two balls as he has last man Henrry Crocombe caught at slip by Tom Latham.

6-173 and how he has celebrated it.

The Sussex lead is pegged to 118 and Rocchiccioli leads his side off. He seems a really popular figure and has given his absolute all for his side in the past 27 hours or so.

Shane Snater digs one in short and Ben Coad wallops it gratefully over midwicket for his third six as this ninth-wicket stand advances beyond 150.

Coad is now into the 80s for the first time in his career and Essex must be feeling increasingly demoralised at their failure to break his partnership with Matthew Revis.
