for Matthew Revispublished at 16:10 British Summer Time

    Yorks 385-8 v Essex 368

Magnificent knock by Matthew Revis, he thoroughly deserves this century.

Revis gets there from 151 balls, guiding Shane Snater to the third man boundary. It's his 14th four of the innings.

His approach, in tandem with Ben Coad, might just have turned the match on its head, with Yorkshire now holding a small lead of 17.

  2. Play resumes at Tauntonpublished at 135 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 431-5

This should be an enthralling final session.

Notts are 52 ahead and will be looking to push on to a total well beyond 500 by the close.

Somerset, by contract, could do with a couple of early wickets to bring about a revision of their game plan.

Matt Henry will bowl the first over after tea.

  3. Hampshire begin second inningspublished at 15:59 British Summer Time

    Hampshire 221 & 0-0 f/o v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

Ali Orr and Fletcha Middleton are back out to begin the Hampshire innings for the second time in less than 24 hours.

The hosts need 458 runs just to make Worcestershire bat again, with 37 overs to negotiate tonight and another 96 on the slate tomorrow.

Their side will need to show a lot more fortitude than they did first time around. They lost their final seven wickets for 153 runs in the first innings.

  4. 50 runs

for Saif Zaibpublished at 15:58 British Summer Time

    Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 403-5

What a season Saif Zaib is having.

The left-hander reverse sweeps Jaydn Denly - a shot he loves - for four and reaches 50 off 67 balls.

He is now half way towards what would be his fifth century of the season.

  5. Tea in Cardiffpublished at 15:57 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 456-6 v Glos 380

Glamorgan's lead is 76 as they reach the tea interval at Sophia Gardens.

Gloucestershire managed to see off both centurions, Ben Kellaway and Colin Ingram, during the afternoon, but are now being held up by a stubborn partnership between Chris Cooke and Timm van der Gugten.

They have put on 73 so far, with van der Gugten hitting Australian Todd Murphy over mid-on for a big six.

It's been a tough game so far for Murphy, whose 30 wicketless overs have cost him 103 runs.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:55 British Summer Time

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 273-6

Three in the space of 12 balls for Dan Worrall as Durham's middle order begins to dissolve in the heat.

Jimmy Neesham is Worrall's latest victim, caught at second slip by Will Jacks.

George Drissell has joined Graham Clark in the middle, with the visitors desperate to avoid any further damage prior to tea.

  7. Tea at Hovepublished at 15:53 British Summer Time

    Sussex 509-6 v Warwickshire 415

James Coles' 150, the second of the Sussex innings after Daniel Hughes, was the highlight of the afternoon for Sussex.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice (41*) has pushed his side's lead to 94 with able support from Jack Carson (28*), but they have left themselves an extraordinary amount to do if they are to conjure a winning scenario with only four sessions remaining

  8. 'That's a big wicket'published at 15:53 British Summer Time

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 271-5

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Oh my goodness me, Dan Worrall with this new ball.

All of a sudden it's beginning to happen and Alex Lees - the first time he's had a little push outside that off-stump.

    That's a big wicket.

Worrall has got rid of Ollie Robinson and he's now got rid of Lees.

A very fine innings from Lees but it's the first time he's pushed at anything and it's found the outside edge.

This is going to be a tricky little period now for them up to tea time.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time

Robinson lbw Denly 55 (Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 390-5)

Still the best part of seven overs to go before the scheduled tea break as Tim Robinson falls lbw, playing slightly down the wrong line to an arm ball from spinner Jaydn Denly.

Lewis McManus comes out to join the in-form Saif Zaib following their 145-run partnership against Middlesex last week.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time

    Green c Cracknell b Higgins 10 (Leics 205 & 69-5 v Middx 534)

Middlesex are halfway there as Ryan Higgins strikes again, tempting Ben Green with an outswinger that he can only feather through to the wicketkeeper.

Division Two leaders Leicestershire look doomed to their first defeat of the campaign.

  11. Tea at Yorkpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time

    Yorks 370-8 v Essex 368

The prospect of a Yorkshire first-innings lead looked remote when Matthew Revis and Ben Coad came together at 273-8.

But their unbroken stand has now edged the home side in front at the interval. Revis is just six short of a first hundred of the season, while Coad is also playing superbly for his 56 not out.

  12. Tea at Chesterfieldpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time

Derbyshire 38-1 - target 513 to beat Lancs

Fairly serene progress for Derbyshire after Caleb Jewell was dismissed early on by Jimmy Anderson.

Mitch Wagstaff has 12* with Harry Came on 15* at tea.

They are behind the ask of 3.7 an over, but not by miles.

Feels like the calm before the storm.

Lancashire would love a cluster of three or four wickets in the evening session if they can, with the final day weather forecast potentially the iffiest of the week.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:45 British Summer Time

    Lees c Blake b Worrall 125 (Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 271-5)

Dan Worrall again - and that's the one Surrey wanted!

It's a ball outside off stump, Alex Lees plays at it and the inside edge deflects through to Josh Blake.

Superb innings by the Durham captain, but that wicket opens the door for Surrey, you feel.

  14. Tea at Tauntonpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time

    Somerset 379 v Notts 431-5

    Jack HaynesImage source, Getty Images

Still very much Nottinghamshire's day despite the best bowling efforts of England spinner Jack Leach.

He has taken both wickets to fall today - Ben Slater for 124 before lunch and Ishan Kishan for 77 during the afternoon session.

A couple of half chances have been put down and Jack Haynes has steered the Division One leaders into the lead with an unbeaten 128 off 244 balls.

Leach has 3-99 from 45 overs so far.

  15. 50 runs

for Ben Coadpublished at 15:39 British Summer Time

    Yorks 358-8 v Essex 368

Cheers around Clifton Park for Ben Coad's second career half-century!

Coad has prised the momentum back out of Essex's clutches here with a 69-ball knock that includes three fours and two sixes.

Essex were eyeing a first-innings lead of close to 100 not that long ago - now they might not have a lead at all.

  16. HAMPSHIRE 221 ALL-OUTpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time

    Currie lbw b Parkinson 6 (Hampshire 221 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec)

Hampshire are bowled out still 458 in arrears.

Callum Parkinson pins Scott Currie infront to end with 2-66 on debut while Tom Taylor finishes with 4-42 from 19 fine overs.

The hosts were 192-5 but have collapsed and will face a huge battle to save the game with 37 overs left in the day and a full day to negotiate tomorrow.

An early tea is taken at the Utilita Bowl.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time

    Robinson b Worrall 79 (Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 266-4)

When you're starting to get desperate for a wicket, who would you turn to other than Dan Worrall?

The Surrey seamer cleans up Ollie Robinson with an inswinger that runs through to hit middle and leg and that ends a valiant partnership of 152 with Alex Lees.

Graham Clark is out there now for Durham.

  18. 50 partnership for Glamorganpublished at 15:32 British Summer Time

    Glamorgan 436-6 v Glos 380

Chris Cooke plays a well-timed reverse sweep off Ollie Price - it brings him four runs and a 50 partnership with Timm van der Gugten. Glamorgan now lead by 56.

  19. Postpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time

    Sussex 479-6 v Warwickshire 415

Sussex plod along at Hove, now leading by 64.

Fynn Hudson-Prentice has 29* with Jack Carson on 10*.

There's not a lot of jeopardy in the air but the sun has burnt through and t's very hot again.

Warwickshire have been toiling, a bowler short, for nearly 140 overs and have kept the run rate under 3.5 an over.

  20. 50 runs

for Tim Robinsonpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time

    Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 373-4

Tim Robinson reaches his first Championship 50 from 58 balls by chopping Matt Parkinson away for a single.

Parkinson is too full later in the over and Saif Zaib pounds the ball away wide of mid-off for four.
