  1. 'Currie isn't a number 11'published at 15:26 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 210-9 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

To be fair Scott Currie isn't a number 11, I know he's batting at number 11 and it's because Hampshire's batting line-up on paper anyway is a strong one.

He is where he is and there's no reason why him and Dom Kelly can't bat for a while but it's a lot to ask these guys to do what the top and middle-order have on the whole failed to do.

    Handscomb c Geddes b Cornwell 6 (Leics 205 & 46-4 v Middx 534)

    Noah CornwellImage source, Rex Features

Make that four down. Noah Cornwell grabs his second and it's the wicket of Leicestershire - and former Middlesex - captain Peter Handscomb.

Ben Geddes, who scored a career-best hundred in the visitors' innings, makes the grab close in on the leg side and the Foxes' prospects of remaining unbeaten are diminishing further and further.

  3. Batting bonus point for Durhampublished at 15:23 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 255-3

    Alex LeesImage source, Rex Features

It won't be their chief concern, but Durham have bagged themselves a bonus point by passing 250 as this stand between Alex Lees and Ollie Robinson reaches 141.

You feel it'd be another small psychological boost if this pair can continue batting right through the session. Still 12 overs until the tea interval, though.

  4. Postpublished at 15:21 British Summer Time 1 July

Derbyshire 25-1 - target 513 to beat Lancs

Jimmy Anderson takes a breather after a four-over opening spell which yielded figures of 1-13.

    George Balderson replaces him.

A little brighter at Queen's Park and nothing to worry about on the radar at present.

Could this be the week Lancashire pick up their first win in nine attempts, while inflicting a first defeat on their hosts?

  5. Third batting point for Northantspublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 1 July

    Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 358-4

Saif Zaib tries a reverse sweep off Matt Parkinson. It brings him a couple of runs and Northants reach 350 in the 86th over of their innings. Plenty of time to add at least one more.

Joey Evison bowls the next over and New Zealander Tom Robinson drives straight back down the ground for four.

The next ball is nudged to the third man boundary and Robinson is 45 not out.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 1 July

    Trevaskis b Cornwell 14 (Leics 205 & 36-3 v Middx 534)

Leicestershire are three down now as Noah Cornwell turns Liam Trevaskis around with a beauty that takes his off stump.

The Foxes still trail by 293 - and how much worse that would be but for the vigorous wagging of their tail first time around this morning.

  7. 50 runs

partnership for Revis & Coadpublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 326-8 v Essex 368

Ben Coad is enjoying himself here and he clouts Simon Harmer cleanly over the top for six to raise the 50 partnership with Matthew Revis.

Coad now has a season's best of 34 not out and Yorkshire have narrowed the deficit to just 42 runs.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 1 July

    Abbott b Taylor 4 (Hampshire 208-9 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec)

Tom Taylor has 4-37 after cleaning-up Kyle Abbott.

Taylor slings one in, which comes back at the right-hander, who has a waft and leaves a very wide gate open for middle and off to be rearranged.

Hampshire are down to their last batter, who is Scott Currie.

321 needed to avoid the follow-on.

Or 138 overs to negotiate, as looks more pertinent.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 1 July

    Jewell c Green b Anderson 9 (Derbyshire 15-1 - target 513 to beat Lancs

Jimmy Anderson gets his revenge. That's the fourth time he's got Caleb Jewell this season.

He squares the Australian up and he can only squirt an outside edge to second slip where Chris Green takes a tidy catch in his breadbasket as he falls to his left.

Harry Came is the new batter, joining Mitch Wagstaff.

  10. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 1 July

Derbyshire 15-0 - target 513 to beat Lancs

Caleb Jewell glances the first ball he's seen from Jimmy Anderson away to the fine leg fence to take his side to 15-0 and bring the ask under 500.

  11. 400 up for Nottspublished at 126.1 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 400-5

Jack Haynes slashes a wide from Tom Lammonby into the covers, but the boundary rider keeps it to one. Enough, though, to take the Notts total of 400.

  12. Postpublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 1 July

Derbyshire 6-0 - target 513 to beat Lancs

Six runs off the opening four overs, all of Tom Bailey with Jimmy Anderson opening with consecutive maidens.

The sun of the opening two days is hidden behind some bubbly cloud and there are thunderstorms to the west, but for now, business as usual.

  13. More of the same pleasepublished at 15:04 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 229-3

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Alex Lees is leading by example. The Durham skipper has reached the 30th first-class 100 of his career and has put together a 100 partnership with Ollie Robinson, who has 59.

Lees could have been run out, though, on 99. It was a nervy moment, but he just got home before Jordan Clark broke the stumps at the bowler's end.

The century came in 207 balls and included 16x4s. It is his 19th for Durham.

So far so good for the batting team this afternoon, but there's still a long long way to go. The deficit is 598 and the new ball is due in five overs.

  14. new ball

New ballpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 1 July

    Hampshire 204-8 v Worcestershire 679-7 dec

After persevering with the old ball for an extra three overs, the Pears have chucked a fresh cherry to Tom Taylor for the 84th over as they seek to prise one of Dom Kelly or Kyle Abbott out - or preferably both if you're Jake Libby.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 1 July

    Patel c & b Higgins 12 (Leics 205 & 22-2 v Middx 534)

Leicestershire are still unbeaten in Division Two this season, but it's looking ominous for them right now, following on and with both openers back in the hutch.

Rishi Patel, who hit a half-century in their first innings, has departed after chipping a return catch to Ryan Higgins.

  16. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Somerset 380 v Notts 396-5

Lyndon James pulls a short ball from Tom Lammonby for four.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore jars his elbow in making a vain attempt to prevent the boundary and needs a little of treatment from the physio.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 1 July

    Coles c Smith b Bamber 150 (Sussex 460-6 v Warwickshire 415

    James Coles' vigil is over.

He has back-to-back matches with a big hundred but no new career best today.

The 21-year-old fends at one from Ethan Bamber away from his body and offers a faint edge through to Kai Smith.

Jack Carson will join Fynn Hudson-Prentice in the middle. The lead is 45.

  18. 100 runs

for Alex Leespublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 1 July

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 222-3

Alex Lees, DurhamImage source, Getty Images

Warm applause from the (warm) Oval crowd as Alex Lees completes his hundred from 207 balls.

It's been an excellent knock from the Durham skipper, particularly given the scoreboard pressure he and his side are facing.

A second ton of the season for Lees and his 31st overall in first-class cricket.

  19. Second batting bonus point for Yorkshirepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 1 July

    Yorks 303-8 v Essex 368

The Clifton Park crowd are enjoying this cameo with the bat from Ben Coad.

Yorkshire's number 10 has just belted two boundaries off Khaleel Ahmed, a full toss that pinged to the off-side boundary and a classy pull through midwicket for four more.

Coad has 17 and he's earned his side another bonus point as they creep closer to that Essex total.

  20. Division Two updatepublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 1 July

Glamorgan's total has reached 400 at Cardiff - they lead Gloucestershire by 20. with six wickets down, following the earlier hundreds by Ben Kellaway and Colin Ingram.

Northants are now 319-4 after 80 overs in Canterbury, replying to Ken's 566-8 declared, less than 100 to go now to make sure of avoiding the follow-on.
