    Leaning b Aspinwall 10 (Lancashire v Kent 128-7)

Medium-pacer Tom Aspinwall gets his first bowl - and the change pays dividends!

Jack Leaning drives, misses and the ball thuds into his off-stump.

Kent in some danger of failing to use up their full allocation now...

  2. 'Disappointing for Kent'published at 15:35 British Summer Time 6 September

    Lancashire v Kent 126-6

    Stephen Moore
Former Lancashire opener on BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra

Joey Evison was trying to show intent and trying to get those boundaries but he didn't get all of that and Luke Wood was not going to get berated by Liam Livingstone a second time by making sure he was right on the boundary on that occasion.

Disappointing for Kent. It was looking like Evison had the power to maybe accelerate the innings for them.

  3. Postpublished at 16 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 126-6

It's been a terrific spell from Tom Hartley, whose final figures of 1-21 are somewhat miserly by T20 standards.

It could have been even better but for the left-arm spinner's final ball, which is short and deposited over the midwicket fence by Grant Stewart.

  4. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 116-6

Liam Livingstone completes his stint, recording figures of 2-21 as new batter Grant Stewart takes a single from his final ball.

  5. wicket

    Evison c Wood b Livingstone 27 (Lancashire v Kent 115-6)

Great catch by Luke Wood on the rope!

Joey Evison had already taken one six off Liam Livingstone's final over and he gives the leg-spinner the charge again - but Wood, at long-off, stretches above his head and keeps his balance neatly to stay within the playing area.

  6. Postpublished at 14 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 107-5

Red Rose captain Keaton Jennings is keeping an over apiece for Tom Hartley and Liam Livingstone up his sleeve for now - instead he's turned to another spin outlet in the shape of Luke Wells.

Wells' skiddy action is equally tricky for the batters - at least until he drops a no-ball short and Joey Evison gratefully thumps it over the midwicket boundary to raise the Spitfires' 100.

That makes it Kent's first productive over in some time, with 13 conceded.

  7. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 94-5

More of the same in this Liam Livingstone over, which brings Kent five singles.Somehow the visitors have to lay the platform for a late assault once the spinners are bowled out.

  8. Lancs not letting Kent play at a pace'published at 15:20 British Summer Time 6 September

    Lancashire v Kent 91-5

    Stephen Moore
Former Lancashire opener on BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra

Kent are trying to play at a pace and Lancashire are not allowing them to play at it so this is where the experience comes in.

How do I get to a score that I can do the same to Lancashire?

  9. Postpublished at 12 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 89-5

Not only are Kent shedding wickets in these middle overs, the runs have really dried up as well.

They've taken just 19 from the last five, in fact, with Tom Hartley and Liam Livingstone doing a fine job of grounding the Spitfires right now.

  10. 'A nothing shot from Denly'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 6 September

    Lancashire v Kent 83-5

    Stephen Moore
Former Lancashire opener on BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra

It was a nothing shot from Joe Denly. You've show intent in the previous over, trying to come down with your feet to hit that extra-cover region.

It was a very simple catch. Denly looked very disappointed.

  11. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 83-5

Another excellent over from Liam Livingstone as Kent continue to toil, gaining just four runs to their total.

Jack Leaning has two to his name, with Joey Evison on six at the other end.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 10 overs

    Denly c Wells b Hartley 28 (Lancashire v Kent 81-5)

And again, the Lancashire spinners have another wicket...

Joe Denly was looking dangerous and he'd just pumped Tom Hartley to the midwicket boundary.

But the left-armer has the final say, persuading Denly to chase one wide outside off stump and loft it into the waiting hands of Luke Wells on the boundary.

    Big problems for Kent now...

  13. 'That's a big wicket'published at 15:11 British Summer Time 6 September

    Lancashire v Kent 74-4

    Stephen Moore
Former Lancashire opener on BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra

You can see from Liam Livingstone's reaction there. He's jumping up ad punching the air.

    That's a big wicket.

I know that Sam Billings might not have had the best series but he is the captain and there is always something about getting the opposition captain out, especially in a period of the game like this where you want to try and put them under pressure.

Probably one of the biggest wickets for Lancashire now and they'll feel like they're on top and they'll try and squeeze this Kent side into a low score if they can.

  14. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 74-4

These last two overs have put Lancashire in control, with Liam Livingstone conceding just three and claiming the scalp of Sam Billings to boot.

Joey Evison has come in to join Joe Denly, unbeaten on 23, at the crease.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 8.1 overs

    Billings c Wells b Livingstone 2 (Lancashire v Kent 71-4)

First ball from Liam Livingstone - and another wicket!

The leg-spinner tempts Sam Billings to sweep and the ball goes straight down the throat of deep square leg.

Spin doing the trick for the home side right now.

  16. 'Crawley premeditated that'published at 15:07 British Summer Time 6 September

    Lancashire v Kent 65-3

    Stephen Moore
Former Lancashire opener on BBC Radio 5 live Sports Extra

It was an interesting decision by Zak Crawley because he had been looking to play straight back down the ground.

    He premeditated that.

  17. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 70-3

The all-seam diet is broken up by an over of left-arm spin from Tom Hartley - and it's a good one, tucking up Joe Denly and leaving him in two minds to several deliveries.

Just a single from the over - exactly what the Lancashire doctor ordered.

  18. Postpublished at 7 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 70-3

Joe Denly steers Jack Blatherwick for another boundary through gully and he's moved on to 22 from just nine balls.

This could be a key partnership between him and Sam Billings.

    Big wicket for Lancashire!

Zak Crawley was just starting to open up and he'd belted Jack Blatherwick down the ground for four, but the batter is foxed by a shorter, slower ball that he attempts to hook and edges through to the wicketkeeper.

Spitfires skipper Sam Billings is next in.

  20. Postpublished at 6 overs

    Lancashire v Kent 54-2

Powerplay done - and there's a let-off for Joe Denly, who seemed to be run out by Jack Blatherwick's arrow throw from the deep.

But bowler Jimmy Anderson broke the wicket with his arm trying to help the ball onto its target - so it's not out and Kent bring up the 50 at the end of the sixth over.
