  1. Close of play at Southamptonpublished at 18:18 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 68-3 v Worcestershire 679-7d

Worcestershire's day, by a long way.

Jake Libby's epic 10-hour marathon career best 228 not out inspired the visitors to 679-7d, the third highest total in the club's history, though Gareth Roderick weighed-in with 80, with the majority of the other runs coming from Adam Hose's swashbuckling 266 yesterday.

They then took three wickets early in the reply to leave Hampshire floundering at stumps with plenty of work to do to avoid the follow on on day three.

  2. Close of play at the Kia Ovalpublished at 18:14 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 59-1

Will Jacks and Dan Lawrence rattle through those last few overs, with the bare minimum of runs conceded, but Alex Lees and Will Rhodes hold firm and live to fight another day.

Lees returns to the dressing room unbeaten on 33, with Rhodes 14 not out and Emilio Gay, bowled by Matt Fisher, the only casualty so far in this Durham innings.

They'll need to do plenty more batting over the next two days to save this game. Surrey will need 19 more wickets to claim victory.

  3. Postpublished at 18:11 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 67-3 v Worcestershire 679-7d

Ben Brown and Tilak Varma are trying to get through the final two overs of the day without further alarm.

Their side are three down and, gulp, still more than 45o runs shy of avoiding the follow-on.

  4. 50 runs

for Ben Kellawaypublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 30 June

    Glamorgan 211-4 v Glos 380

Back to back boundaries off Ben Charlesworth carry Ben Kellaway to another half-century for Glamorgan, this one from 83 balls.

With no slips in place, he diverts a bouncer wide of the keeper and down to third man, and follows that with a flashing square drive.

There are some talented young players in the Glamorgan squad - and he is certainly one of them.

  5. Close of play at Tauntonpublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset 379 v Nottinghamshire 214-3

Another gripping day's play in the Taunton sweatbox and honours remain even between Somerset and the Division One leaders.

The home side added 104 to their overnight 275-6 before being bowled out - Tom Banton leading the way with 84.

There is a lot of turn for Jack Leach and Archie Vaughan but the home spinners have only managed one wicket each, with watchful Ben Slater compiling his first hundred of the season for Notts.

He will resume on 116 not out at the start of day three, having shared an unbroken stand of 71 with Jack Haynes, who has 34.

  6. 50 runs

for James Colespublished at 18:07 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex 271-2 v Warwickshire 415

James Coles has been rather bogged down since tea but he finally brings up his half-century, getting down on one knee to sweep to square leg, to bring up the milestone from 131 balls with six fours. Five of them before tea.

He and Daniel Hughes (150*) have added 134 for this third wicket and the deficit is below 150.

  7. Postpublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 57-1

The shadows are lengthening now at the Kia Oval and Surrey have switched to spin in a bid to prise out another wicket or two before the close.

Will Jacks who, let's not forget, has played in Test cricket as a frontline spinner, is on for a spell prior to stumps and sends down back-to-back maidens.

Three overs left tonight - and fellow off-spinner Dan Lawrence will join Jacks in the attack.

  8. Postpublished at 18:04 British Summer Time 30 June

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 77-1

Anuj Dal ended the opening stand between Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings, skidding one past Wells' outside edge and clattering off stump to send him on his way for 31.

Jennings remains on 32* and Josh Bohannon has begun positively as the visitors lead edges towards 200.

  9. 'What a chance for Surrey'published at 18:01 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 52-1

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

What a chance. That's two put down now by Surrey.

Alex Lees was dropped earlier off Tom Lawes's first ball when he was on 11 by Jordan Clark.

  10. Postpublished at 18:01 British Summer Time 30 June

    Leics 92-6 v Middx 534

Leicestershire remain unbeaten in Division Two, but they're up against it now thanks to a devastating spell from Middlesex's teenage seamer Naavya Sharma.

The 19-year-old, playing in only his third first-class match, has just captured four wickets in 11 deliveries to reduce Leicestershire to 88-6.

That's still a long way behind Middlesex's total of 534.

  11. 150 runs

for Daniel Hughespublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex 265-2 v Warwickshire 415

A gentle nudge towards mid-on off Corey Rocchiccioli from Daniel Hughes sees him scamper through for a single to bring up his 150 from 240 balls.

It's been a innings which has evolved... from being reliant on boundaries earlier in the piece, hitting 26 of them, he has had to revert to ones and twos to keep the scoreboard ticking along.

The 36-year-old Australian will have more than an eye on his first class best of 178.

  12. Postpublished at 66.1 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 209-3

Superb use of the feet by Jack Haynes carries him to the pitch of the ball and he cover drives Archie Vaughan for four to move to 34 not out.

Vaughan is unlucky later in the over as he turns one sharply off middle stump - Ben Slater is nonplussed, but survives.

  13. dropped catch

Dropped catch by Dom Sibleypublished at 17:53 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 50-1

It's been an unforgettable day overall for Dom Sibley - but he won't want to remember this part of it.

Jordan Clark persuades Will Rhodes to fish outside off stump and the ball flies to Sibley at second slip, where he shells the chance.

It was a decent height, if fast - and maybe fatigue came into it after Sibley's marathon innings.

  14. Division Two updatepublished at 17:52 British Summer Time 30 June

Lancashire have lost the first wicket of their second innings at Chesterfield, with Luke Wells bowled by Anuj Dal for 31. The Red Rose lead Derbyshire by 166 runs.

Youngster Naavya Sharma has taken the wickets of Lewis Hill and Peter Handscomb in successive overs to leave Leicestershire in bother on 88-4, replying to Middlesex's 534 all out. Rishi Patel, though, has just reached a half century.

Glamorgan are now 189-4 in the 56th over against Gloucestershire. Australian spinner Todd Murphy is suffering a little bit of stick, his 11 overs have cost him 43.

Kent continue to strive to break this Richard Vasconcelos-Calvin Harrison partnership - they have taken Northants to 118-1 after Kent declared on 566-8 earlier in the day.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 30 June

    Gubbins lbw b Taylor 13 (Hampshire 54-3 v Worcestershire 679-7d)

It's been a good day for the Pears.

Tom Taylor charges in and gets one to come back a touch at the left-handed Nick Gubbins who can't get his bat down in time and is struck on the pad infront of middle stump.

Up goes the finger and off goes Gubbins.

Ben Brown comes out with 39 balls of the day remaining - too many for a nightwatch.

  16. 200 up for Nottspublished at 63.2 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 200-3

A single for Jack Haynes off Kasey Aldridge, flipped down to long leg, takes the Notts total to 200 - and these two are now moving beyond a 50 partnership for the fourth wicket.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 30 June

    Abdullah Shafique c Pepper b Thain 5 (Yorks 125-3 v Essex 368)

Noah Thain is indeed recalled to bowl - and what an impact he makes with a wicket from the first delivery of his second spell!

The seamer drops one on leg stump and Abdullah Shafique follows the ball, turning it around the corner for Michael Pepper to fling out his left hand and complete another excellent catch.

Big wicket for Essex, who have now regained the initiative after that strong opening stand between Adam Lyth and Fin Bean.

This calls for Yorkshire skipper Jonny Bairstow to get his side back on track...

  18. Postpublished at 17:44 British Summer Time 30 June

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancashire 367 & 51-0

Pretty serene progress for the Red Rose at Chesterfield as their lead is up to 157.

Five boundaries apiece for Luke Wells (26*) and Keaton Jennings (24*) and it's all going rather smoothly for Lancs skipper Jimmy Anderson, whose side have spent just 67 overs in the field across the opening two sweltering days at Queen's Park.

Could this be their first win of the Division Two season at the ninth attempt?

  19. Postpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 30 June

    Yorks 125-2 v Essex 368

Noah Thain has been doing some stretches in the field, which suggests he may be called upon for another spell of bowling fairly soon.

Ironically, it could be Thain's last opportunity to impress during this game as Essex may well take the opportunity to 'sub in' Sam Cook - available after England named an unchanged side for the second Test against India.

The rules allow counties to bring in replacements for the final two days of this game - and Thain would be the most likely candidate to make way if Essex opt to beef up their bowling options by including Cook tomorrow.

  20. 250 runs

250 up for Sussexpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex 252-2 v Warwickshire 415

James Coles ends the boundary drought, taking advantage of a wayward delivery from Oli Hannon-Dalby to clip to the rope at backward square leg and bring up Sussex's first batting point.

Coles moves to 40, adding just 13 runs since tea, with Daniel Hughes on 141* at the other end.
