  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 30 June

    Orr c Nicholls b Finch 32 (Hampshire 47-2 v Worcestershire 679-7d)

Ali Orr has fallen into the trap.

Jake Libby brought in a leg slip for Adam Finch a couple of overs ago and Orr seems to forget he's there as he glances one off his hips straight into the hands of the lurking Henry Nicholls, who holds on low down this time, having earlier dropped Orr on nought with a far easier chance.

Tilak Varma comes in, having made a century on debut last week. His side could do with another one here.

Orr's departure now means Libby is the only player to have been on the field for every ball of this match.

  2. Postpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex 247-2 v Warwickshire 415

Warwickshire have done a good job of keeping Sussex in check at Hove with some disciplined fielding and inventive field settings.

The hosts were rattling along at well over four an over for much of their reply but that rate has nose-dived towards 3.5, which is testament to Corey Rocchiccioli holding up one end and the Bears pacemen rotating at the other, without Chris Rushworth, remember, who has bowled since his third over with the new ball.

We've mentioned Daniel Hughes' fondness for boundaries, well he and James Coles have mustered just one between them in the past 13 overs now.

  3. Postpublished at 60.2 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 185-3

That must have had Vic Marks purring with delight.

Classic off-break from Archie Vaughan leaves Ben Slater groping at thin air, but happily for him, there is no edge.

Meanwhile, Jack Haynes has played a couple of iffy reverse-sweeps recently - risky, risky......

  4. Postpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 41-1

A little bit of breathing space for the Durham batters after Dan Worrall and Matt Fisher completed their opening spells.

Alex Lees picks up a couple more boundaries against change bowlers Tom Lawes and Jordan Clark and he progresses to 23 not out, with Will Rhodes on 11.

Runs are probably not going to be an issue in this game, but always better to have the scoreboard moving when you're so far behind.

  5. 'Well batted Ben Slater'published at 17:30 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset 379 v Notts 171-3

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

That's the 18th first-class 100 scored on this ground by a Notts player and it is the first here for Ben Slater.

It's his 11th for Notts and that will mean an awful lot to him.

A wonderful knock. He's come so close so many times this season.

He becomes the eighth different player to for Nottinghamshire to score a first-class 100 this season, that is absolutely incredible.

    Well batted, Ben Slater.

  6. Division Two updatepublished at 17:25 British Summer Time 30 June

Rishi Patel is leading Leicestershire's reply to the Middlesex total of 534 all out - he is 44 not out in their 71-2, having hit a six and seven fours.

Gloucestershire are still probing away in search of further wickets at Sophia Gardens, but Colin Ingram (22) and Ben Kellaway (17) have been together for 13 overs now in Glamorgan's 158-4.

Lancashire have begun their second innings at Chesterfield with a lead of 106 and are 30-0 after seven overs.

Northants are now 99-1 after 21 overs, replying to Kent's 566-8 declared - Ricardo Vasconcelos and Calvin Harrison have added 74 so far.

There it is. At the ninth time of asking - after eight 50s - Ben Slater reaches his first Championship century of the season.

It's his 15th in first-class cricket and arrives off 171 balls with a couple square of the wicket on the off-side from the bowling of Archie Vaughan.

  8. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 30 June

    Wharton c Westley b Harmer 14 (Yorks 110-2 v Essex 368)

When Essex need a wicket, Simon Harmer usually obliges - and so it proves again.

James Wharton hasn't really settled at the crease and Harmer tempts him down the track, trying to find the boundary but instead picking out Tom Westley at long on.

That means Pakistan's Abdullah Shafique is batting for the first time as a Yorkshire player - he's out there now alongside Adam Lyth.

  9. Postpublished at 17:17 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex 241-2 v Warwickshire 415

Daniel Hughes gets up on his toes and uppercuts a short and wide delivery from Oli Hannon-Dalby away to the rope at backward point for his 25th boundary.

He has 137* with 100 of them now coming via fours.

Efficiency of effort in these conditions.

His side are just nine runs away from a first batting point, and it won't be their only one...

  10. 50 runs

for Ricardo Vasconcelospublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 30 June

    Kent 566-8 dec v Northants 97-1

Ricardo Vasconcelos reaches 50 from only 51 balls faced with an easy single off Joey Evison.

In the next over, he hoists leg-spinner Matt Parkinson over mid-wicket for a maximum and is now 57 not out.

  11. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 820-9 dec v Durham 24-1

This has been a really testing opening spell from Dan Worrall and Matt Fisher, all serving to increase the pressure on Durham as they reply to that record Surrey total.

Alex Lees has finally registered his first boundary, crunching Fisher behind square to move into double figures, while Will Rhodes is on six.

There are 16 overs remaining tonight and the visitors would be delighted if they can get to stumps without further losses.

  12. Postpublished at 17:13 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex 199-2 v Warwickshire 415

Corey Rocchiccioli has bowled practically unchanged, for 26 overs, and almost got a reward for his endeavour in the heat.

James Coles makes room for an attempted cut off the spinner but missed the ball by a hair's breadth as it sails through to Kai Smith behind the pipes.

Sharp intakes of breath all round.

  13. Postpublished at 54.2 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 165-3

    Almost through him there.

An inside edge into his pads saves Ben Slater from being bowled by Craig Overton.

Slater is just six runs short of a century.

  14. 50 runs

for Adam Lythpublished at 17:08 British Summer Time 30 June

    Yorks 103-1 v Essex 368

Adam Lyth, YorkshireImage source, Rex Features

Not the best stroke he's played today, but Adam Lyth's slice off Khaleel Ahmed flies to the third man boundary and takes him to a half-century.

The Yorkshire opener reaches 50 from 110 balls, the seventh time he's passed that milestone this season.

It's a very welcome return to form after he was out for a duck in last week's drawn game against Nottinghamshire.

  15. Postpublished at 17:06 British Summer Time 30 June

    Sussex 236-2 v Warwickshire 415

The Hove patrons put their hands together, not just to generate some breeze but also to recognise the 100-stand for this third wicket between Daniel Hughes and James Coles.

The century stand comes up from 185 balls with a Hughes single off Oli Hannon-Dalby which takes him to 132*. Coles has 33*.

  16. 6 runs

    Postpublished at 53.1 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 165-3

    Confident stroke.

Jack Haynes sashays down the track and deposits the ball beyond the boundary rope for a straight six off Jack Leach.

  17. Postpublished at 17:04 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 33-1 v Worcestershire 679-7d

Slow going under the baking sun at Southampton.

33 runs from the first 14 overs of the reply.

Ali Orr is cashing in after being dropped on nought with 26 from 68 balls while Nick Gubbins has six from 13 at the other end.

Still 18 overs left in the day. The hosts just want to tick them off, still trailing by 646.

  18. It did really happen.....published at 17:03 British Summer Time 30 June

Surrey set a new club record by scoring 820-9 declared against Durham today. Here's the moment they reached the big 8.

The words 'Durham won the toss and elected to field' may haunt Alex Lees for some time to come.

  19. 'Pears have let Hampshire off'published at 16:59 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire 31-1 v Worcestershire 679-7d

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

It's been hard work for Hampshire. Worcestershire have let them off - well they've let Ali Orr off - that was a regulation catch.

  20. Postpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 30 June

    Derbyshire 261 v Lancs 367 & 0-0

Luke Wells and Keaton Jennings head out at Queen's Park to try to build on the first innings lead of 106.

Ben Aitchison, a useful name to utilise to when explaining to children how to pronounce the letter H properly, will take the new ball.

Blueprint is clear for the Red Rose - avoid the early collapse which blighted their, and Derbyshire's first innings.
