    Kent 553-7 v Northants

While we were busy with events elsewhere, both Kent's centurions have been dismissed by Northants.

Daniel Bell Drummond was caught behind for 158 trying to steer Said Zaib to third man.

It ended a 206-run partnership with Harry Finch, who followed for 118 in the next over, brilliantly caught one handed by a leaping Justin Broad at slip as he tried to reverse sweep Calvin Harrison.

    Sibley c Ackermann b Rhodes 305 (Surrey 745-5 v Durham)

And after almost five sessions solid, Dom Sibley is finally gone!

The triple centurion swings Will Rhodes high on the leg side and Colin Ackermann, running back from mid-on, takes the catch coolly - or as cool as you can be in this kind of heatwave.

It's been an incredible knock from the Surrey opener, who deservedly receives a standing ovation as he heads back to the changing room.

Jordan Clark comes out to replace him, which suggests Surrey want yet more runs on the board!

  3. 'Monumental effort' by Sibleypublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 739-4 v Durham

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

This stopped being a contest sometime yesterday.

Surrey have now passed 700 and have the second highest score against Durham. The highest is Warwickshire's 810-4 declared in 1994 when Brian Lara made 501 not out.

Dom Sibley has just become the fourth player to score 300 against Durham. Graeme Hick made 315 for Worcestershire in 2002 and Darren Lehmann 339 for Yorkshire in 2006.

It's been a monumental effort in this heat, but I will happily never see a Kookaburra ball game again on the basis of this one. Sadly there are still another two rounds of games to go with it.

Sibley now has Robert Abel's Surrey record of 357* in his sights. That was against Somerset in 1899.

My colleague Mark Church thinks they will declare at tea. Churchy also says Durham "are being slowly cooked" by Surrey. He's not wrong. But why they are still out there, I have no idea.

  4. Postpublished at 27.1 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 100-1

Jack Leach is still causing problems with turn out of the rough, But Nottinghamshire's total reaches three figures with a single for Freddie McCann. He is 18 not out and Ben Slater has 57.

  5. Middlesex pass 500published at 15:09 British Summer Time 30 June

    Leics v Middx 504-8

Middlesex don't often post a 500-plus total and, let's not forget, they were invited to have a bat by Leicestershire yesterday morning.

But the visitors have made the most of the opportunity, with Ben Geddes still there on what is now a career-best 126.

  6. Postpublished at 15:06 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire v Worcestershire 635-7

This total is now the seventh highest in Worcestershire history, while Jake Libby's innings is close to becoming the best of his career, nearing his 215 against Sussex in September 2022.

    Surrey 733-4 v Durham

A place in the record books for Dom Sibley!

Only five other Surrey players have topped 300 for the county in Championship cricket - and the 29-year-old becomes the sixth with this marathon innings.

He gets there from 472 balls, scrambling a single off George Drissell and having to dive at the bowler's end to avoid being run out.

Sibley now joins Bobby Abel, Kevin Pietersen, Jack Hobbs, Tom Hayward and Mark Ramprakash on that illustrious list.

  8. Postpublished at 24.4 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 96-1

Freddie McCann is looking a little bit streaky, but he won't mind if the ball keeps finding the boundary.

He edges Kasey Aldridge between second slip and gully, and then two balls later flashes the ball past gully's left hand for another boundary.

Waite run out (Abbott) 0 (Hampshire v Worcestershire 628-7

The Pears and Southampton history books are being rewritten.

Their total of 628 is the eighth highest the club have achieved in Championship cricket and third highest ever at the Utilita Bowl.

However they are now seven down, Matthew Waite has been run-out for a 14-ball duck.

He set off for a single, Jake Libby turned back, Waite was caught down the track and Kyle Abbott's throw sees Ben Brown whip the bails off before he got back to the crease.

  10. Division Two updatepublished at 14:57 British Summer Time 30 June

Glamorgan have progressed to 57-1, replaying to Gloucestershire's 380 all out, with young opener Asa Tribe 25 not out.

Leicestershire have picked up another Middlesex wicket, Zafar Gohar falling to Liam Trevaskis for 10, but the visitors are 492-8, with Ben Geddes 119 not out.

  11. Postpublished at 14:56 British Summer Time 30 June

    Yorks 16-0 v Essex 368

A solid start by the Yorkshire openers, replying to Essex's 368.

Left-armer Khaleel Ahmed has gone for a few runs in his first two overs - 12, to be precise - but has also sent down some testing deliveries, a bouncer to Fin Bean and another ball that zipped past the outside edge.

Bean has eight, with Adam Lyth on four.

  12. Anderson brings himself back onpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 30 June

    Derbyshire 177-5 v Lancashire 367

Lancashire skipper Jimmy Anderson can feel the momentum ebbing away and after a short breather has brought himself back into the attack for a third spell.

Martin Andersson has hit six fours on his way to a breezy 37* with Anuj Dal on 16* at the other end and the duo have added 43 in nine overs.

  13. 150 runs

for Daniel Bell-Drummondpublished at 14:49 British Summer Time 30 June

    Kent 530-5 v Northants

Still a bit of work for Kent to do to reach a best-ever score against Northants - that was 701-7 declared at Beckenham in 2017.

The runs keep coming, though, and DBD goes to 150 from 267 balls with a single to mid-wicket off Calvin Harrison.

    Clark c Latham b Rocchiccioli 7 (Sussex 136-2 v Warwickshire 415)

Tom Clark has never looked comfortable out there, and now he's gone.

Corey Rocchiccioli airs one in, draws Clark forward in defence, only to pop an edge to the safe hands of Tom Latham at slip.

James Coles joins Daniel Hughes, who is into the 70s.

  15. 50 runs

for Will Jackspublished at 14:46 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 700-4 v Durham

Yet another Surrey half-century - in fact, everyone other than Ryan Patel has made it past 50 in this innings so far.

Will Jacks gets there from 46 balls, jabbing George Drissell for a leg-side single and lifts the Surrey total to 700 at the same time.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 30 June

    Roderick c Prest b Dawson 80 (Hampshire v Worcestershire 624-6)

    A wicket!

Gareth Roderick has found a lot of joy with the sweep today but he gets this one wrong, top-edging an offering a routine chance to Tom Prest at short fine leg.

Liam Dawson has 1-118 from 37 overs.

The 147-run stand with Jake Libby is over.

Matthew Waite will join the acting skipper.

  17. 50 runs

for Ben Slaterpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 30 June

    Somerset 379 v Notts 77-1

Ben Slater looks far more comfortable against the seamers.

He jabs Kasey Aldridge to third man for four and reaches 50 off 62 balls faced.

It's his ninth of the season - and he has yet to go on to three figures. Will today be that day?

  18. Postpublished at 20 overs

    Somerset 379 v Notts 69-1

Ben Slater led a bit of a charmed life in that over.

Beaten by another Jack Leach 'fizzer' out of the rough, the left-hander tried a reverse sweep but couldn't beat Archie Vaughan in the field.

Another reverse attempt saw Slater make no contact and James Rew whipped off the bails, but his back foot was anchored.

  19. Postpublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 30 June

    Surrey 694-4 v Durham

And still they come... Surrey runs, that is.

Dom Sibley has advanced to 288 - and another 12 runs will make him only the fifth triple centurion in the county's lengthy history.

Will Jacks is alongside him on 45 and we might even have to start bringing Surrey's highest ever first-class total into the conversation.

That stands - and has stood since the year 1899 - at 811, made against Somerset.

  20. 'A great exhibition of concentration'published at 14:41 British Summer Time 30 June

    Hampshire v Worcestershire 605-5

    Dave Bradley
BBC Hereford & Worcester cricket commentator

Jake Libby came out to bat at 11:00 BST yesterday morning. A great exhibition of concentration in very hot conditions.

He just raised his bat to his team mates and those in the crowd.
