  2. 'A really confident performance' - Knightpublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

England captain Heather Knight on Sky Sports: "After the other day we were a little disappointed, but the bowlers set the tone. Lauren Filer is exciting to field at first slip to. I was quite close to taking Charlie [Dean] off, so I'm glad I didn't.

"When we get on top, we want to be really aggressive and take wickets in clusters like we did. Really pleasing.

"It was a really confident performance. The openers did a really good job to break the back of that chase. [We want to] try to win the series 2-1 now."

  3. 'Tough day out' - Wolvaardtpublished at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt on Sky Sports: "Tough day out. We just didn't have enough runs on the board. It's always tough batting first in Durban, but we lost wickets in clusters.

"We felt it was getting easier as the day went on, but lost way too many wickets along the way."

On becoming the youngest woman to 100 ODI appearances: "It's not the way I would have liked it to have gone, but it's awesome to have had the chance to have played 100 games."

  4. 'Great to find out afterwards' - Dean on hat-trickpublished at 12:45 Greenwich Mean Time 8 December

Player of the match Charlie Dean on Sky Sports: "I didn’t even realise I had a hat-trick so it was great to find that out afterwards!

"The wind didn’t affect which end I chose to bowl from. I just embraced the drift today and put a slip in.

"I am pleased with my game at the moment. I am still learning and growing but I'm becoming more consistent in how I’m going about things. I am also happy to be contributing with the bat when I am needed so to contribute to the team in the win today was pleasing."

A dominant victory for England. There will be an element of relief from the camp as a whole after their first loss.

Lauren Filer with the extra pace set the tone and allowed the spinners to do what they do best. They would have liked to be more ruthless in the run chase which is something to work on.

That is as out as out can be and Nat Sciver-Brunt will be frustrated. She does like to play across the line and trust her eye, but this time is just let her down; it skidded slightly as it came along the pitch which made it harder.

    I blame myself.

Right as I start talking about the ease of England's chase today, Nadine de Klerk slides one onto Nat Sciver-Brunt's pads right in front of middle.

    Absolutely plumb.

England are in a commanding position. Levelling the series with be important and they will be hungry for the third ODI too.

When South Africa review this game, they'll see they had no-one with a calm head during their flurry of wickets which is where lack of experience comes into play.

South Africa need to find a breakthrough, just for a boost rather than any hope of winning.
