WICKET Rew b Snater 6published at 18:26 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 152-6 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

    Surely not!

James Rew goes back to Shane Snater's final delivery and it flicks off his back pad.

It barely clips the off-stump but is just enough to take off the bail.

Fifteen needed. Lewis Gregory strides to the middle

  2. 150 runs

150 up for Somersetpublished at 18:25 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 152-5 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

Tom Banton just leans on a Shane Snater ball which has a bit of extra bounce.

There's no need for power as it bounces through the covers all the way to the rope.

Then excellent running from James Rew gives Banton three more to bring up the 150.

    Fifteen needed.

  3. Postpublished at 18:22 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 145-4 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

Sam Cook sinks to his knees after another close shave as James Rew gets a nick off the bat before it hits the pads.

Single from the over in what is a titanic spell from Cook

Just 22 needed for the home side.

  4. Postpublished at 18:19 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 92 & 84-1 v Kent 261

Joey Evison is on from the James Anderson End as Kent seek a second breakthrough.

A single from Keaton Jennings and then good running from the England opener helps Josh Bohannon a two.

Bohannon then glances a loose legside delivery to the fine leg boundary to move to 25 off 28 balls. Jennings has 28 and Lancashire trail by 85.

  5. Somerset need 24 more to winpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 143-5 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

James Rew survives a drop as a thick edge flies to third slip, but it would have been an outstanding take. Calling it a drop seems harsh.

It doesn't seem to bother him too much.

In the next over he's down on one knee and plays an exquisite drive to the cover boundary off Sam Cook. Shot of the day.

Seven from the over and we're down to 24 needed.

  6. Postpublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 92 & 67-1 v Kent 261

    Lovely shots Josh Bohannon!

He ends Wes Agar's third over with back-to-back boundaries, punching the second off the back foot. Bohannon moves on to 14.

They'll need plenty more where that came from.

  7. wicket

WICKET Pretorius c Cox b Cook 2published at 18:04 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 135-4 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

    It ain't over!

Migael Pretorius was lifted up the order to get the job done but is out for just two and Essex are halfway there.

It's a daft shot as he tries to lift the ball over Jordan Cox at cover, but the fielder takes a simple catch above his head.

Somerset need 32 and are still massive favourites, but you just don't know.

  8. Somerset edging closerpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 133-4 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

    That should settle the nerves.

Tom Banton clatters a second four off Jamie Porter's 12th over, climbing into a wide one to fire it through extra cover.

Somerset need just 34 more to seal victory.

Seventeen overs scheduled in the day.

    Yorkshire 248-2 v Glamorgan 221

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

It's been a dominating innings from Finlay Bean and there was precious little sign of it in the first 10 or 15 minutes at the crease but once he got his first run he hasn't looked back.

  10. 'Bean has been red hot in the middle'published at 17:55 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 243-2 v Glamorgan 221

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

It took Finlay Bean a while to get going and a while to get the last few, but in the middle he was absolutely red hot.

He's not had the easiest of starts to the season but he'll feel much, much better now.

Super stuff from Bean and he'll be delighted to nail that first ton of the season.

It's only his 35th first-class innings and he now made four of those into centuries and he's had four other half-centuries in addition.

  11. 'Well batted Peter Handscomb'published at 17:55 British Summer Time 4 May

    Middlesex v Leicestershire 306-9

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Handscomb steers it to the off side and that is the century. A huge applause for the Australian.

He raises his bat and helmet to Lord's and the Leicestershire balcony stand to him and so do many in the pavilion.

    Well batted Peter Handscomb.

Back at Lord's, back at the home of cricket.

101 not out off a 177 balls and what an important innings that has been for Leicestershire.

  12. 'Handscomb has held this innings together'published at 17:55 British Summer Time 4 May

    Middlesex v Leicestershire 306-9

    Guy Swindells
    BBC Radio London

Peter Handscomb has just held this innings together and when you think that this on the back of 51, 68, 99.

He is in a rich, rich vein of form.

    Lancs 92 & 50-1 v Kent 261

    Look away now Lancashire fans.

Luke Wells had played nicely and was well set but then throws it away with a bad shot to Nathan Gilchrist who now has seven wickets today.

He throws the kitchen sink at a harmless-looking delivery and edges it to second slip where Jack Leaning takes a sharp chance.

The Red Rose trail by 116 and Josh Bohannon is in.

50 for Lancashirepublished at 17:51 British Summer Time 4 May

In the context of this game, that's a big fifty partnership from Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells.

  15. 100 runs

100 for Finlay Beanpublished at 17:49 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 242-2 v Glamorgan 221

What a knock from Finlay Bean who moves to his fourth first-class ton.

It's taken him just 111 balls with 17 fours and two sixes.

    Well batted young man.

  16. 100 runs

100 for Peter Handscombpublished at 17:47 British Summer Time 4 May

    Middlesex v Leics 306-9

What an innings from Peter Handscomb who is nursing the Leicestershire lower order to a competitive total at Lord's.

A two off Ethan Bamber has brought up his 23rd first-class century off 177 balls

He came in at 50-3 and has helped them to a second batting point.

  17. wicket

WICKET Umeed c Harmer b Snater 34published at 17:43 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 14-0 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

Another glimmer of hope for Essex.

Just when you think the game is swinging one way, you get another little twist.

Andy Umeed pushes forward to Shane Snater who finds an outside edge.

It then strikes the thigh of wicketkeeper Harry Duke, standing up to the wicket, and balloons up to Simon Harner at second slip.

A weird wicket but they all count. Somerset still need 47.

Somerset have promoted Migael Pretorius up the order to whack a few more off the target.

  18. Postpublished at 17:40 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 92 & 35-0 v Kent 261

  19. Harmer into the attackpublished at 17:37 British Summer Time 4 May

Andy Umeed takes a three off Shane Snater's fourth ball and then helps the final ball of his seventh over to the fence.

With the deficit under 50, Essex skipper Tom Westley turns to Simon Harmer.

Tom Banton looks to sweep his third ball and there's a shout as the ball hits the pad. Not out.

A single apiece to end the over. 47 to win.
