  1. Postpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 92 & 17-0 v Kent 261

A positive start from Lancashire as Keaton Jennings takes Grant Stewart for back-to-back boundaries.

Perhaps the Kent bowlers are trying a wee bit too hard after the resumption.

The hosts move to 17-0 after three overs. They trail by 152.

  2. Somerset need 62 more to winpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 105-3 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

Somerset's run rate required is 0.3 an over with six-and-a-half sessions still to go.

A pretty redundant stat you would imagine.

Tom Banton is bedding in and still to score after seven deliveries and Andy Umeed is up to 22 off 25 with a single off Shane Snater.

    They need 62 to win.

Alert! Simon Harmer is limbering up.

  3. 'A little bit of hope for Essex'published at 17:21 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 99-3 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Shane Snater who has not really been in the game suddenly comes good and that could just be the twist that Essex need.

Snater has done well with the ball this season but he's not been at his best in this game but that just might spark him into life.

A little bit of hope for Essex.

  4. Lancashire follow onpublished at 17:21 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 92 & 4-0 v Kent 261

Just a few hours after opening the batting first time round, Keaton Jennings and Luke Wells stride out to the middle for a second go.

They need 169 just to make Kent bat again. Unfortunately for them the light is little better.

Wells takes a four off Grant Stewart's opening over.

What approach do you take in their position?

  5. wicket

WICKET Lammonby lbw b Snater 0published at 17:15 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 99-3 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

A mistake from Tom Lammonby and the door opens a little wider for Essex

Lammonby leaves a straight ball from Shane Snater which hits hom on the back pad right in front of off stump.

    It's plumb and that's a curious 24-ball duck.

Somerset need 68 more, seven wickets for Essex.

  6. 'Turning into a painful watch from a Welsh point of view'published at 17:13 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 191-2 v Glamorgan 221

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

This is turning into quite a painful watch from a Welsh point of view this evening.

  7. 'Well played Joe Root'published at 17:11 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 191-2 v Glamorgan 221

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Joe Root with another first-class 50 and that's 82 of them now to go with 44 first-class centuries.

It's taken him 54 minutes, 44 deliveries and during that time he's hit eight fours.

    Well played Joe Root.

  8. 50 runs

50 for Joe Rootpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 191-2 v Glamorgan 221

That's just the 82nd first-class fifty for Joe Root.

He reaches the landmark off just 44 balls and 54 minutes with a flicked single through midwicket.

  9. LANCASHIRE ALL OUT FOR 92published at 17:05 British Summer Time 4 May

    Williams c Finch b Gilchrist 6

Nathan Gilchrist wraps up the innings to finish with superb figures of 6-24.

Will Williams has a swipe and edges through to wicketkeeper Harry Finch and Lancashire are all out in exactly 30 overs.

Just waiting to see if Daniel Bell-Drummond has enforced the follow-on. We believe he has.

  10. Somerset need 77 more to winpublished at 17:02 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 90-2 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

Sam Cook is into his 10th straight over.

Andy Umeed takes the positive approach and takes a couple of twos to get the runs required down to 77.

They were not entirely convincing - the second a bit of a hoik in all truth - but it's effective. So far.

Could there be one more twist? You wouldn't bet against it in this match.

  11. 'Can Essex find a way of dragging this game back?'published at 16:58 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 86-2 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

That was a very good opening partnership from Renshaw and Dickson.

Can Essex find a way of dragging this game back again?

It's been a fantastic period of play for Somerset when they came back out after lunch.

Essex are trying but they have got so much to do.

  12. Root approaches fiftypublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 176-2 v Glamorgan 221

    Joe RootImage source, Rex Features

Joe Root collects his sixth four off Mir Hamza to move to a run-a-ball 38.

He takes another in the next over from the hapless Mason Crane and needs eight more for his 82nd first-class half-century.

Finlay Bean, meanwhile, progresses to 71 and the deficit is down to just 45 in quick time.

  13. wicket

WICKET Hurst c Crawley b Gilchrist 36published at 16:52 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 83-9 v Kent 261

That's five wickets for Nathan Gilchrist!

Matthew Hurst's counter-attacking innings is done as he tries one big shot too many.

He targets the short legside boundary, but picks out Zak Crawley in the deep.

Crawley had just been positioned there - smart captaincy from Daniel Bell-Drummond.

    Nathan Lyon joins Will Williams.

  14. wicket

WICKET Dickson c Duke b Porter 42published at 16:48 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 83-2 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

    A second wicket for Essex!

Sean Dickson takes a couple of steps down the wicket and bang! That's anther four to move to 42 from 39 balls. He's Somerset's highest individual score of the match.

    But next ball he's gone.

Dickson attacks Porter again but his attempted drive catches his outside edge through to Harry Duke behind the timbers.

Porter gives him a little send-off.

Two scoreless batters at the crease as Andy Umeed joins Tom Lammonby

They're almost halfway through the chase in 17 overs. Eighty-four needed.

  15. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 158-2 v Glamorgan 221

Finlay Bean hoists Mason Crane over long-on for a second time, and then takes a four off the next to move to 64 off just 67 balls.

Poor Crane has gone for 53 runs off five overs

    Joe who?

  16. 'Kent may put Lancashire in to bat'published at 16:44 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 53-8 v Kent 261

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

Kent probably had the conversation at tea in regards to putting Lancashire in to bat and I don't see a single reason why they wouldn't.

Under the lights and the conditions as they are, I don't see why they don't put Lancashire straight back in.

The lights are on but it's no different to what we played through yesterday so I think we'll be ok to continue for a bit.

  17. wicket

WICKET Renshaw lbw b Cook 35published at 16:41 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 & 75-1 v Essex 156 & 138 - Target: 167

Somerset are absolutely racing along here.

They clearly don't want to give the Essex bowlers a sniff after their first innings woe.

    But there's the breakthrough!

Sam Cook has found a little something here and pins Matt Renshaw in front, the ball hitting the knee roll of his front pad.

The umpire has no hesitation and Essex have a badly-needed wicket.

A super innings from Renshaw, off 60 balls, and Somerset need just 92 more.

    Tom Lammonby is in.

  18. Root gets stuck inpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 143-2 v Glamorgan 221

    Yorkshire mean business after tea.

They've taken 24 runs off the first two overs of the evening session as Finlay Bean brings up his fifty from 62 balls.

Joe Root is enjoying the bowling of Mason Crane and helps himself to three boundaries in five balls from the spinner (over two overs).

He's raced to 26 off just 19 balls with five boundaries and Yorks trail by just 78.

  19. wicket

WICKET Bailey c Finch b Agar 5published at 16:34 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 51-8 v Kent 261

Wes Agar has his fourth and the end is nigh for Lancashire's first innings.

Tom Bailey tries to help a short ball to the legside but succeeds only in gifting a catch to Kent wicketkeeper Harry Finch off the face of the bat.

That's 4-12 for the Aussie. He's bowled superbly in the gloomy conditions.

They must be considering the follow-on.

  20. 'Bean has his half century'published at 16:31 British Summer Time 4 May

    Yorkshire 130-2 v Glamorgan 221

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Finlay Bean has his half-century as he acknowledges the crowd.

He has eight fours and one six and he's faced just 62 balls.

A very healthy scoring rate for Finlay Bean.
