  1. 'Somerset have given themselves every chance'published at 15:20 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 v Essex 156 & 138 all out

    Anthony Gibson
    BBC Radio Somerset

From 95-4 at lunch time, Somerset have picked up the last six wickets of Essex for just 43 runs since lunch in 21.5 overs.

So a terrific post-lunch performance by Somerset's seam bowlers and I think they've given themselves every chance of securing a rare home win here at Taunton.

  2. wicket

WICKET Bruce lbw b Agarpublished at 15:16 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 30-4 v Kent 261

Wes Agar is on a hat-trick!

Agar goes over the wicket to Bruce and catches him first-ball on his knee roll.

    The finger goes up.

George Bell survives the hattrick ball, but Lancashire are in a big hole. Kent right on top.

  3. wicket

WICKET Jennings c Finch b Agar 4published at 15:16 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 30-3 v Kent 261

Keaton Jennings is squared up by a Wes Agar delivery around the wicket and goes for four.

It's a probing line on off stump and catches the edge before flying through to wicketkeeper Finch.

Two wickets in quick time for Kent.

  4. ESSEX BOWLED OUT FOR 138published at 15:11 British Summer Time 4 May

    Porter c Rew b Gregory 0

    Somerset need 167 to win.

A magnificent one-handed catch from James Rew, diving low to his right, does for Jamie Porter.

Lewis Gregory has 3-23 and Essex have lost their last four wickets for one run.

I'll say it again. What a game!

  5. wicket

WICKET Bohannon b Gilchrist 9published at 15:09 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 30-2 v Kent 261

Josh Bohannon looks to pull a short ball from Nathan Gilchrist, but it all goes pear-shaped.

The ball catches his bottom edge and cannons back onto the stumps.

  6. wicket

WICKET Harmer lbw b Ball 0published at 15:05 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 v Essex 156 & 137-9

    And another goes!

We haven't had a run in five overs at Taunton but the wickets are tumbling.

Simon Harmer is put out of his misery as Jake Ball traps him for a 14-ball duck.

He shuffles across his stumps trying to pay the ball across square leg but is pinned in front to a ball which was hitting middle and off.

Essex lead remains 165 and they have one wicket left.

    Jamie Porter joins Shane Snater.

  7. 'Handscomb won't change the way he plays'published at 15:03 British Summer Time 4 May

    Middlesex v Leicestershire 174-5

    Richard Rae
    BBC Radio Leicester Sport

Peter Handscomb is having to bat well but he knows that Cox, Mike, Green, Scriven and Currie are all competent batmen.

So he won't change the way he plays.

  8. wicket

WICKET Thain lbw b Gregory 18published at 15:00 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 v Essex 156 & 137-8

Could Somerset be batting again before tea?

Noah Thain looks to whip Lewis Gregory away on the leg side but it's the wrong shot.

The ball moves back in, just a touch, and Thain is caught absolutely plummers in front.

The finger goes up very, very quickly.

Somerset need two more, with the Essex second-innings lead stuck at a gettable 165.

  9. 'Handscomb playing a very good role for Leicestershire'published at 14:58 British Summer Time 4 May

    Middlesex v Leicestershire 172-5

    Guy Swindells
    BBC Radio London

Peter Handscomb really has batted very nicely indeed so far.

He is looking to reach a fourth consecutive half-century

He's playing a very good role for his team.

  10. 'Somerset get a wicket when you think there's a lull'published at 14:52 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 v Essex 156 & 137-7

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

Just when you think there is a lull and Somerset yet again get a wicket and get back on track.

I thought that Essex would just edge their first innings score but that's in doubt now with that wicket.

  11. 'A lovely delivery and it's a super catch'published at 14:50 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 15-1 v Kent 261

    Scott Read
    BBC Radio Lancashire

    It's a lovely delivery and it's a super catch.

Wes Agar is bowling round the wicket to the left-hander and he gets the ball to angle in and it just straightens and he's forced to play.

The edge goes low to Jack Leaning's left-hand side.

It's a very good catch and a really nice piece of bowling.

Good early breakthrough that for Kent and there's quite a bit on pressure this top order, particularly this top three for Lancashire.

  12. wicket

WICKET Duke c Rew b Ball 6published at 14:47 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 v Essex 156 & 137-7

    Jake BallImage source, Getty Images

    What a game!

Jake Ball takes his first wicket in the first over of his return spell.

Harry Duke is groping at a good length ball looking to drive, but it leaves him a little and takes the outside edge.

Wicketkeeper James Rew doesn't have to move an inch to take the catch.

Essex have a 161-run lead and just three wickets more. Simon Harmer is next in.

A game that keeps on giving.

  13. wicket

WICKET Wells c Leaning b Agar 10published at 14:44 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 15-1 v Kent 261

    Brilliant catch, Jack Leaning!

Luke Wells is turned around by a fine Wes Agar delivery from around the wicket which holds up off the seam and takes the edge.

It flies low to second slip where Leaning is down to his left to grab it.

Josh Bohannon joins Keaton Jennings at the crease.

  14. Division Two recappublished at 14:42 British Summer Time 4 May

Glamorgan have been bowled out for 221 as spin does the business for Yorkshire.

Dom Bess (4-25) and Dan Moriarty (4-74) take the honours.

Sussex have lost Tom Haines for 58, but have moved to 108-2 with Tom Alsop not out on 33.

Cheteshwar Pujara is in. A decent number four to have up your sleeve.

And Ethan Bamber has a third wicket as he removes Leicestershire and England all-rounder Rehan Ahmed for 42.

Aussie anchor Peter Handscomb is still there on 41 and the visitors have 152-5

  15. 'Glamorgan's 221 doesn't feel like it's enough'published at 14:37 British Summer Time 4 May

Yorkshire v Glamorgan 221 all out

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Glamorgan are 221 all out and doesn't feel like it's enough in the context of the match.

We are expected to be under cloud cover all day and we've been playing with the lights on since the start.

  16. Postpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 8-0 v Kent 261

Luke Wells plays a lovely backfoot punch off Wes Agar, getting right to the top of the bounce.

It deserves a four, but is denied by an outfield slowed up considerably by the rain and it's three.

Keaton Jennings plays out a couple of dots and is yet to get off the mark after nine balls.

  17. Postpublished at 14:33 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 5-0 v Kent 261

Grant Stewart gets some late swing and lets out half a cry as it strikes Keaton Jennings front pad.

Luckily for the Lancashire opener he just about got some timber on it.

  18. How did that miss?published at 14:30 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 v Essex 156 & 126-6

Craig Overton collapses on to his back in his follow through in disbelief.

He induces a thick, thick inside edge from Noah Thain which somehow misses the timbers.

    The Essex lead is 154.

  19. 'Double breakthrough is really handy for Somerset'published at 14:28 British Summer Time 4 May

    Somerset 128 v Essex 156 & 118-6

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

    Craig OvertonImage source, Getty Images

This is quite an important moment you'd feel for Somerset.

They need to consolidate this little post-lunch period where they have taken these two relatively quick wickets.

Overton really is putting the ball in the right places.

The double breakthrough is really handy for Somerset because Essex were going along ok with those mini partnerships, they were getting to where they wanted to be.

But now the home side will feel a bit of an opportunity.

  20. Lancashire begin their first inningspublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 4 May

    Lancs 2-0 v Kent 261

Wes Agar opens up for the Kent attack to Luke Wells who's off the mark with a two.

    No alarms and five dots.

Keaton Jennings prepares to face his first ball from Grant Stewart
