Summary

  1. Eng 209-5published at 43 overs

    Capsey 40, Dean 14

This a lovely shot from Charlie Dean - perfectly placed on the sweep.

Dan Norcross says it's the shot of the day.

Dean cuts the next one for four too.

England are in control. I hate to say it, but they've got enough on the board. 180 gives Pakistan a chance but anything more than that doesn't.

I'd have loved England to say 'let's go and get 300 plus'. But they've not even...tried.

  3. Eng 197-5published at 42 overs

That is bizarre, quite frankly. Ayesha Zafar has tidy enough figures - four overs, no wickets for 18 - but it hasn't been too pretty.

There's a couple in the stands who looked relieved the sun is out.

This is the first time that Ayesha has bowled in international cricket. She's not a bowler, but when she does bowl in domestic cricket she bowls leg-spin. Today they've asked her to bowl off-spin. Make it make sense.

  5. Eng 196-5published at 41 overs

The sun peeps put for the first time as Nida Dar loops another into orbit. Charlie Dean is a scamperer. She's quickly and comfortably back for two.

This is how Dar saw off Amy Jones a couple of overs ago.

I thought that was clipping leg stump! But we've seen turn for the first time today.

    Three spinners for England today...

Missing by a good few inches!

The ump has to change her decision.

Alice Capsey survives and Sophie Ecclestone will be up in the dressing room licking her lips.

This has turned. it could miss leg stump, you know.

Another England batter is given out in the thirties!

Alice Capsey, the last front line batter, is trapped in front.

  11. Eng 193-5published at 40 overs

    Capsey 35, Dean 3

Yep, as Alex says it has all been a bit odd. England's innings has been pretty sedate against some really slow bowling.

    10 to go.

    280 still the target?

It's been a strange innings - unconvincingly convincing. It's felt like England have been in total control and yet where are all the runs? I still think they've got enough.

  13. Eng 188-5published at 39 overs

Charlie Dean, batting up the order after England left out Danni Wyatt, is the new batter.

England wouldn't want to lose another here.

Another 30, and unfortunately it was the in-form Amy Jones. It was tossed up and needed hitting hard. She went for it. I'd argue that when a spinner takes the pace off, they get a little bit more bounce. That wicket was a mixture of the ball being so slow that it caused Amy to mistime it, and a little bit of extra bounce.

    Jones c Ayesha b Dar 37 (Eng 185-5)

Urgh. A fifth England player falls having made a start.

It's more slow loopiness, this time from Nida Dar.

Amy Jones tries to thwack it but gets a top-edge which offers the simplest of catches to square leg.

I feel like that ball sums the whole day up. Mistiming. Slow floaty bowling. Not capitalising.

Ayesha Zafar is back with her off-spin that is only just making it over 40mph.

It's so slow, loopy and tossed very outside off stump too. Alice Capsey looks to be struggling to restrain herself.

In truth, that deserved to be smacked.

Often in women's cricket if you're against a slow bowler on a slow pitch then it's very difficult to hit into the off side.

I'm sure there are many similar stories of more experienced (older) players at your club. Please do let us know in the usual ways if any spring to mind.

A better over from Fatima Sana keeps the scoring down.

    This is a great story.

Sally Barton, a grandmother of three, has become international cricket's oldest player.

She made her debut in Gibraltar's second T20 international against Estonia, at the age of 66 and 334 days.

"The words 'too old' just aren't in my vocabulary," Barton told BBC Sport.
