50 for Beaumontpublished at 13.1 overs

Tammy Beaumont brings up her half-century with a lovely lofted drive over long-on. A hug from Bouchier and on they go.

  2. Eng 90-0published at 13 overs

    Thanks Timothy Abraham.

Another over of Beaumont and Bouchier knocking it about.

'Beaumont and Bouchier' has a nice ring to it don't you think? Could be the name of a high-end wholefoods store somewhere in west London.

England are motoring to this total. Sam Dalling is on hand to take you through to the end.

  4. Eng 84-0published at 12 overs

Spin for the first time and England's opening pair a little more cautious against some flighty stuff from Amelia Kerr. Tammy Beaumont and Maia Bouchier pick up two singles apiece.

  5. Eng 80-0published at 11 overs

No slip in place and Maia Bouchier has another boundary to her name after a thick edge from a delivery by Sophie Devine. She has 36 off 30 balls.

This has been a stroll for England.

  7. Eng 76-0published at 10.4 overs

England are going to get this done well before dinner time by the looks

New Zealand have a flicker of an lbw appeal after Sophie Devine hits Maia Bouchier on the pad but there's not enough conviction to take it upstairs.

Two balls later and it is short from Devine and Bouchier powerfully pulls it for four.

Tammy Beaumont is timing the ball beautifully.

  9. Eng 68-0published at 10 overs

A little bit of a slog down the ground from Tammy Beaumont as she spanks another four off Jess Kerr down the ground.

Later in the over Beaumont backs it up with something decidedly more elegant as she cuts the ball through point for another

Beaumont has 39 from 38 balls.

It is a very good batting surface, which goes to show how well England bowled. These two will want to make the most of it.

    Target 157

England are making light work of this so chase far, punishing anything even remotely loose from New Zealand's attack.

Hannah Rowe gives Maia Bouchier width outside off stump and the England opener cuts it ruthlessly away to the boundary for four.

Jess Kerr has got the swing, Penfold is quick and Hannah Rowe gets good bounce with her height. The components are there for a well-rounded bowling attack, but they haven't had much cricket recently which may explain some of the rustiness we have seen.

  13. Eng 51-0published at 8 overs

Easy going for England so far. No real demons in the pitch.

There was definitely a sense that poor strokeplay and good bowling from England kept New Zealand - Brooke Halliday aside - in check.

The final ball of Jess Kerr's is a no-ball giving England a free-hit. Tammy Beaumont backs away to leg to give herself some room and wallops it back over the bowler's head for a one-bounce four.

England's top order has been quite inconsistent so they will take confidence if they can put in a dominant performance today.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is England's best opening batting combination.

  16. Eng 44-0published at 7 overs

Maia Bouchier is a tall and imposing figure at the crease and dovetails nicely with the more diminutive Tammy Beaumont.

Hannah Rowe is brought into the attack, but once again it's too short to Bouchier who pulls one from under her nose to the boundary for four.

Bouchier then nudges the final ball of the over into the leg side for a single to keep the strike.

Brooke Halliday started a bit shakily but she was a real bright spot earlier. She is the glue that binds the New Zealand middle order and today she probably needed two or three more partnerships there on what looks a quality surface.

England couldn't have asked for a better start.

Jess Kerr has bowled nicely, caused a few problems but they have been able to cash in off Penfold because she has been quite inconsistent.

  19. Eng 38-0published at 6 overs

    Target 157

It's early days but New Zealand's players have an air of resignation about them in the field. A couple more wickets could spice things up a little.

Jess Kerr is bowling in-duckers to this right-handed opening pair for England, but there's been little to alarm them so far.

The penultimate ball of the over is over-pitched to Tammy Beaumont who crunches a drive through the covers. Beaumont stands and admires the shot, she knew it was four all the way.

Molly Penfold set the field for the short ball, but it wasn't threatening enough. Maia Bouchier picked it up very quickly.
