    Overton is gone!

The problem is that that wicket will take up time!

Porter has a five-fer, there are still three wickets required.

But now the clock has ticked over past 6pm and they are shaking hands.

It is a shame about the weather, but it has been a great game nonetheless

  5. SURREY DRAW WITH ESSEXpublished at 18:00 British Summer Time 26 May
    Breaking

    Surrey 279 & 289-7 v Essex 217 & 479

Jamie Overton is caught at slip by Matt Critchley to give Jamie Porter yet another five-for but that is the final action at The Oval, with the weather spoiling what could have been an exciting finish.

Having been set 418 to win, Surrey looked vulnerable at 167-5 after a burst of three wickets by Jamie Porter.

But Sam Curran batted well for 77 and added 71 with Jamie Overton to use up 24 overs of a stop-start day.

Surrey take 12 points to go second, 10 behind leaders Notts, and retain their unbeaten record, while Essex earn 11 and stay third from bottom.

Here goes Chris Silverwood, he is tearing around to get the ball to pick up from the boundary and get back to Jamie Porter to try and get one more Simon Harmer over in.

Chris Woakes impressed in his first match of the season with six wickets in total

Frustration for the visitors as persistent rain has called a halt to the final day at New Road.

Warwickshire were seemingly closing in on victory with just two wickets left to get before the players went off for bad light before tea.

Worcestershire have a lot to thank Matthew Waite and Ethan Brookes for with the pair delaying an inevitable away victory after the hosts lost four quick wickets in the morning session.

Chris Woakes and Chris Rushworth will take great pride in excellent bowling performances across the two innings and the experienced swing duo picked up three-for in the second.

Both sides come away from this local derby with 11 points.

Well played Surrey. A single from that over but no breakthrough for Essex. They have 12 balls left to take four wickets - unless they can bowl the two overs in less than 10 minutes and squeeze in a another.

Two leg slips, two short legs...Jamie Porter angles one in and Jamie Overton flips it down to long leg for four.

Overton is 35 not out, Jordan Clark has 13.

The new ball is taken but Simon Harmer will continue with it.
