    Would you believe it!!!

Simon Harmer sees Dom Sibley coming, fires it wide of off stump and the Surrey opener is stranded as Michael Pepper completes a far easier stumping than the one which brought about Rory Burns' downfall earlier this morning.

    Sam Curran in at four.

    Surrey 115-1 (target 418) v Essex

Finally, a bit of movement for Jamie Porter. Kurtis P is beaten all ends up by one which cuts back off the seam but it just misses the stumps.

  3. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 26 May

    Surrey 115-1 (target 418) v Essex

Almost. Simon Harmer beats Dom Sibley in the flight as the opener comes down the pitch, but his pads provide a second line of defence and prevent him suffering the same stumping fate as Rory Burns.

  4. Postpublished at 32.1 overs

    Surrey 114-1 (target 418) v Essex

    Where does the time go?

We can't believe it is 12 years since Dom Sibley became the youngest Surrey batter to score a double century in a Championship game - you can read all about that here.

He's not on strike at the start of the latest Simon Harmer over, though, Kurtis Patterson is - and he clips the off-spinner through mid-wicket for four.

Both batters have been keeping up with one another with this 50 run partnership for the seventh wicket.

Waite on 28, Brookes on 29 in only the second 50 run partnership Worcestershire have managed in the match.

  6. 50 partnership for Worcestershirepublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 26 May

    Worcs 143-6 (target 327) v Warwicks

A terrific effort from Matthew Waite and Ethan Brookes, who have both batted extremely well in difficult circumstances, to put on a seventh wicket 50 partnership.

There have been some lovely shots in this partnership, including a couple of glorious straight drives that any opening batsman would be proud of.

    Yorks 159 & 230-6 (target 463) v Notts 228 & 393-8d

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

The wicketless Mo Abbas has a new batter in his sights in Dominic Bess, this could be the game right here.

Can Yorkshire hang on long enough for the rain or can Notts blow them away?

  8. new ball

New ballpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 26 May

    Yorks 159 & 230-6 (target 463) v Notts 228 & 393-8d

New ball taken and it is in the hands of Mo Abbas.

  9. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:28 British Summer Time 26 May

    Charlesworth c McManus b Guthrie 14 (Gloucs 27-1, target 350)

    Breakthrough for Northants!

Good seam movement from left-hander Liam Guthrie who tempts Ben Charlesworth out on the drive with a full one.

Charlesworth edges to Lewis McManus behind the stumps who takes a good diving catch.

    Excellent, menacing bowling from Guthrie.

  10. Postpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 26 May

    Worcs 126-6 v Warwicks (target 327)

A short ball from Ethan Bamber is well played by Ethan Brookes who keeps his pull shot down well and, thanks to a misfield, goes to the boundary for four.

Brookes and Matthew Waite have been impressive with the bat since coming to the crease.

  11. Surrey resume run chasepublished at 29.1 overs

    Surrey 107-1 (target 418) v Essex

The rain break was short, just a few minutes, and the players are already back out in the middle. Jamie Porter will continue his over. Kurtis Patterson is on strike. Only one over has been lost.

  12. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 26 May

    Hill b McCann 26 (Yorks 230-6, target 463)

Big blow landed by Notts just a couple of overs away from the new ball.

That was a loosener from Freddie McCann, short and inviting, which deserved to be hit but Hill has missed a huge slog and lost his middle stump.

That is a shame for George Hill who had batted really well up to that point even if suggestions from those who have seen multiple replays of his 'run out' are now saying he was probably out.

Whatever, if justice has been served, Dom Bess is now in the middle and needs a huge innings if Yorkshire are to get something from this contest.

That is a wonderful ball, nice and full, just a little bit of movement away.

    Wonderful from Barnard.

    Northants v Gloucs 18-0 (target 350)

The first five overs have gone by and Gloucestershire have rather comfortably dealt with all of them.

Cameron Bancroft and Ben Charlesworth remain at the crease, rotating the strike as and when they can.

Still a long, long way to that magic number of 350 though of course.

  16. rain stops play

Rain stops play at The Ovalpublished at 29.1 overs

    Surrey 107-1 (target 418) v Essex

What a pity. The weather has closed in and the groundstaff are dragging covers into position. Let's hope this is a brief interruption.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Hill and Revispublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 26 May

    Yorks 159 & 228-5 (target 463) v Notts 228 & 393-8d

George Hill has to dive to make his ground after risking a quick single to mid off.

He hits it a little bit too well and it is in the fielder's hands before he is halfway down the track.

Hill survives and a four from the bat of Matthew Revis brings up the 50 partnership.

  18. Postpublished at 12:17 British Summer Time 26 May

    Surrey 107-1 (target 418) v Essex

Simon Harmer is the one asking all the questions of Surrey's batsmen at the moment.

Jamie Porter is now back for Essex for his second spell of the morning, but he is still struggling to get much out of the pitch.

The lights are now on at The Oval.

  19. Big shout... not outpublished at 12:15 British Summer Time 26 May

    Derbys 587-5d v Kent 326 & 220-8

Grant Stewart has a hook at a short ball from Pat Brown and the fielders and bowler launch a furious appeal.

Umpire Surendiran Shanmugam is unmoved much to Brown's frustration.

To rub salt into those wounds Stewart plonks two HUGE sixes into the car park over widish midwicket with the fourth and fifth balls.

  20. Postpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 26 May

    Worcs 116-6 (target 327) v Warwicks

A delightful punch down the ground from Matthew Waite just avoids the outstretched foot of Ethan Bamber, the second of three boundaries of an expensive over.

A little flurry of runs from the hosts who look like they may enjoy playing some shots if they are going to go down trying.
