  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 18 May

    Gay b Patterson-White 104 (Durham 402-5 v Notts 407)

A fine innings comes to a scruffy end.

Emilio Gay steps across and aims a reverse sweep at Liam Patterson-White, but gets it all wrong and the ball takes his leg stump.

A 221-ball knock which has put his side in a great spot.

  2. 400 up for Glospublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 18 May

    Glos 401-6 v Kent 424

The hosts have a fourth batting point to match Kent's first-innings efforts.

They're not far off their opponents' total now too.

  3. 'There's still movement'published at 12:37 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 464-9 v Yorkshire 255

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

A good delivery that nipped back.

A good innings from Jordan Clark, there's still movement there.

This could be a very interesting 10 minutes before lunch.

  4. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 18 May

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 182-4

Luke Wells is in for his first bowl of the morning as Lancashire seek a breakthrough.

He struck with his second ball yesterday evening.

Brooke Guest picks up a couple and then is encouraged to settle for a single by his batting partner Jack Morley. He's up to 46.

Morley almost picks out Anderson Phillip with the final ball but it drops safe for a fortunate single.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 18 May

    Clark b Thompson 69 (Surrey 464-9 v Yorkshire 255)

Jordan Thompson rips Jordan Clark's off stump out the ground!

No finer sight as a bowler as the bails cartwheel through the air and Clark is gone after a very good score of 69.

Yorkshire are finally within just one wicket of bowling Surrey out. It's been a grind.

  6. Postpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 18 May

    Worcs 358 & 115-5 v Essex 157

Ethan Brookes is playing with a little more freedom after getting himself in and hits a couple of nice fours - the second of which is lovely reverse sweep off Simon Harmer.

Matthew Waite has also been very patient on five from 50 balls.

The Pears needed these two to do what they're doing after losing those early wickets.

    Worcestershire's lead is 319.

  7. Durham close in on leadpublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 18 May

    Durham 400-4 v Notts 407

Ollie Robinson swivels and tucks Rob Lord down to fine leg for a single which brings up the 400 for Durham.

It's come in the 119th over.

  8. 200 runs

200 up for Sussexpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 202-7 f/o - lead by 16 runs

Fynn Hudson-Prentice picks up a couple and then finds the boundary to take Sussex past the 200 mark. Still a LOT of work for the visitors to do.

  9. Postpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 196-7 f/o - lead by 10 runs

Almost another run out as John Simpson flicks it down the leg side and takes a quick single, forcing his batting partner Fynn Hudson-Prentice to rush through.

Wicketkeeper James Rew chases it down, whips his glove off quickly and makes the direct hit.... but Hudson-Prentice had just made his ground.

  10. 6 runs

Postpublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 18 May

    Durham 396-4 v Notts 407

    A change of pace perhaps?

Ollie Robinson steps down the pitch and fairly effortlessly smacks Liam Patterson-White's first ball of his 22nd over back over his head for a six.

He then goes on the back foot to hammer a shot through point, but good work on the boundary keeps it to two.

A single takes Robinson to 72.

  11. 'Eight wickets by lunch would be great'published at 12:29 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 196-7 f/o - lead by 10 runs

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

Jack Leach has bowled straighter and he's given it a bit of loop.

All that hard work for Coles' 39 is gone, he's batted very well but the execution just wasn't there for it.

Somerset have had to toil really hard, I said eight wickets by lunch would be great.

  12. Postpublished at 12:25 British Summer Time 18 May

    Glamorgan 424 v Northants 185 & 108-5

    Nick Webb
    BBC Radio Wales

Northants have improved their resistance in the early stages of day three after starting 190 runs behind with three wickets already down.

First innings top scorer Luke Procter has dug in, but it was James Sales who dominated the stand of 53 as he took three boundaries off the usually economical Timm van der Gugten.

But Sales, on 35, edged through to Chris Cooke in the Netherlands international’s next over and Rob Keogh, in sketchy form, made a nervy start before being caught behind driving at Asitha Fernando for six.

Northants have a long way to go in the Cardiff sunshine but the pitch could still help their cause even if it flattens out, as often happens at Sophia Gardens.

  13. Postpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 18 May

    Lancs 458 v Derbys 176-4

Derbyshire were in a sticky situation when they resumed but their fifth-wicket pair have seen off James Anderson et al and put on 70.

Brooke Guest has moved within seven of his fifty, while nightwatchman Jack Morley is within 12 of an unlikely maiden first-class half-century.

    Frustration for the Red Rose.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:24 British Summer Time 18 May

    Coles c Lammonby b Leach 39 (Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 195-7 f/o - lead by 9 runs)

Just as I was about to say Sussex have weathered Somerset's early morning storm...

James Coles advances down the track to Jack Leach but doesn't catch it at all well.

He slices his attempted drive out to Tom Lammonby at mid-off and it's a fairly easy grab.

Coles had his eye in and was going along well, so he'll be very disappointed.

One step closer to victory for the hosts as Leach picks up his third wicket of the innings and fifth of the match.

  15. 'Not a lot going for the bowlers'published at 12:22 British Summer Time 18 May

    Durham 386-4 v Notts 407

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

The start of the day has very much belonged to the batters.

It's a flat pitch, there's not a lot going for the bowlers.

Notts are keeping their spirits up with lots of encouragement.

  16. 250 runs

450 up for Surreypublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 18 May

    Surrey 452-7 v Yorkshire 255

Tom Lawes smashes Adam Lyth up and over the top for four to bring the score past 450.

From 384-7 at the start of the day, the hosts have already added another 68 runs and lost just the one wicket.

    They now lead by 197.

  17. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:19 British Summer Time 18 May

    Holden lbw b Scriven 18 (Middlesex 232 & 65-2 - lead by 23 runs v Leics 274)

    Another for Leicestershire!

Tom Scriven gets Max Holden lbw and that's both openers gone for Middlesex.

  18. 100 for James Braceypublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 18 May

    Glos 382-6 v Kent 424

A second century of the season for the in-form Glos man.

He has more than 500 runs this campaign with only three players having scored more than him so far.

  19. 100 runs

100 for Emilio Gaypublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 18 May

    Durham 384-4 v Notts 407

Emilio Gay climbs into a short, wide ball from Rob Lord and thrashes it to the rope to bring up his eighth first-class century from 205 balls.

A lovely innings, featuring 10 fours, which is putting his side into a super position.

They need just 23 more for parity.

Ollie Robinson has 62 and the stand is worth 109.

  20. Sussex move into leadpublished at 12:16 British Summer Time 18 May

    Somerset 338 v Sussex 152 & 188-6 f/o - lead by 1 run

Sussex have achieved what would have been objective number one at the start of this innings and that's get some sort of lead.

Somerset will at least have to bat again.
