  2. SA 59-2published at 11 overs

    Target 180

Jofra Archer turns away in frustration as Rod Tucker pings him for another wide. It's the only run to come off the over as Rassie van der Dussen takes a defensive approach.

I might bring Adil Rashid on now to make that breakthrough. Klaasen is very strong against spin but you still need to try and get him out early.

I would bring Rashid on fairly soon and Jos should be thinking the same.

At the end of the powerplay, South Africa are 58-2, with Jofra Archer picking up both wickets. England were 62-3 at the same stage but South Africa only need 122 runs to win.

Archer will continue with the ball - the sixth over of his spell.

  5. SA 57-2published at 9.3 overs

A pause in play as the groundstaff do some running repairs to the pitch. Saqib Mahmood isn't happy with where he's running.

  6. SA 57-2published at 9.2 overs

That's a lovely shot from Rassie van der Dussen, flicking off his pads for four.

One positive is the return to fitness for Jofra this winter. Played almost every game, taken wickets and looked good with the bat. Good to have him back.

    Target 180

Heinrich Klaasen is quickly off the mark with an effortless four through the covers. With a dashed single, South Africa take nine from the over.

That went straight underneath the bat. Archer got hit the ball before so he will feel he has his just rewards.

This gives England a little sniff and window of opportunity.

Rickelton looks very disappointed, he can barely drag himself from the crease. It kept horribly low and scuttled though.

He shakes his head as he walks off.

Huge celebration from Jofra Archer this time!

The ball nips back in, keeps low and crashes into the stumps. Ryan Rickelton can't believe he's missed it.

Jofra Archer leaps high into the air with delight. His previous delivery went for four.

Van der Dussen gets a nice boundary off the bat. He is a prickly player to play against, he can tend to rub people up the wrong way. He's not necessarily very vocal, but just the way he carries himself.

  13. SA 43-1published at 8 overs

    Target 180

South Africa are trucking along at just over five an over.

Rassie van der Dussen punishes a full delivery from Saqib Mahmood for four and they seem pretty happy to just tick off one boundary every over.

A fundamental part of England's rebuild needs to be finding a proper new-ball attack.

In the past two years, they go at 5.7rpo in powerplay one (the most expensive in the world), and take their wickets at an average of 36.15 in the phase - only three sides (Zimbabwe, Ireland, and the UAE) have a worse record.

England are trying here, but they need to do the basics right. South Africa have got some exhilarating batting.

These are the moments that they game can slip away from you. You need to be aggressive.

Just a couple of runs from Jofra Archer's fourth over, including another wide.

Ryan Rickelton is dropped by bowler Saqib Mahmood on 16 and the next ball is slapped through point for four. Twas ever thus.

A return chance dropped by Mahmood. That was more than a half-chance, it came right back at him but it was at an awkward height.

Saqib Mahmood drops Ryan Rickelton on his follow through.

It's powerfully struck by the South African and goes straight through Mahmood. A lifeline for Rickelton on 16.

England are doing their level best but there's not much energy about them; they know they are on the flight home later tonight.
