    Yorks 545-9d v Sussex 222 & 108-3

Adam Lyth is on with his occasional spin (as in it only spins occasionally) but it looks worth a go with the Sussex pair, Daniel Hughes and Danial Ibrahim, looking well set.

  2. Postpublished at 18:08 British Summer Time 31 July

    Yorks 545-9d v Sussex 222 & 105-3

There was a veritable blizzard of appeals going in from Yorks about three quarters of an hour ago but this Sussex pair are slowly sucking the energy from the hosts.

Four overs to go and Danial Ibrahim (42) and Daniel Hughes (54) are up to 85 for the fourth wicket and will be looking to shut out Dom Bess and co until the close.

  3. Close of play at Trent Bridgepublished at 18:05 British Summer Time 31 July

    Notts 511-6 v Somerset 438

A great day for Notts and their captain Haseeb Hameed.

He came back this morning 103 not out and turned it into his third double century and second of the season, eventually run out for 208.

Jack Haynes made 70 and Lyndon James 72 to give them a lead of 73.

Notts will now have a chance to force victory on the final day.

  4. Double breakthrough for Northantspublished at 18:03 British Summer Time 31 July

    Northants 550-9 dec v Derbyshire 377 & 46-3

Northants spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has just blown the game wide open with two wickets in two balls.

The former India spinner removed Zak Chappell and Harry Came to leave the visitors 46-3 and still needing 127 runs to avoid an innings defeat.

  5. 500 up for Nottspublished at 17:57 British Summer Time 31 July

    Notts 500-6 v Somerset 438

Liam Patterson-White will hope to have a big role to play with the ball tomorrow.

But for now he needs to extend Notts' lead.

He's onto 41, coming down the track to whack Archie Vaughan over long-on for six.

  6. Postpublished at 17:55 British Summer Time 31 July

    Lancashire 132-2 (target 473) v Glamorgan

Lancashire are making a better fight of things in their second innings.

Luke Wells has raced to 67 off 79 balls with nine fours and two sixes.

If they are still two down at the close, will they feel they have a chance of chasing this 473?

  7. 'There was a concerted effort to rack up the runs'published at 17:51 British Summer Time 31 July

    Notts 494-6 v Somerset 438

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

It's Abell's third catch of the day and a simple one.

It's just looked over the last few overs there was a concerted effort to try and rack up the runs a little bit.

Lyndon James has perished trying to do just that.

    James c Abell b Pretorius 72 (Notts 494-6 v Somerset 438)

Some succour for Somerset at the end of a long day in the field.

  9. Postpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 31 July

    Notts 490-5 v Somerset 438

So with Surrey moving away from Notts at the top of the table, do the East Midlands county have a reply at Trent Bridge?

They've got a lead of 52 and if they can turn that into 170-80 before lunch tomorrow, there may be a chance to force victory against Somerset.

15 minutes remaining there with Lyndon James now 71.

  10. Postpublished at 17:41 British Summer Time 31 July

Surrey beat Durham by five wickets

A victory that's likely to move Surrey clear at the top of Division One with only three games remaining.

They lost the toss but ran through Durham on the first day for just 153 with Dan Worrall taking 4-31.

Dan Lawrence's 88 and 82 from Jordan Clark then helped Surrey to a 179-run first-innings lead despite Ben Raine's 5-72.

It proved a match-winning advantage as Sai Kishore also took 5-72 in Durham's second innings.

The hosts at least managed to battle to 344 to set 176 but Surrey found little trouble to knock it off.

Durham are bang out of form, losing three and drawing two of their last five games, and are now in a relegation scrap.

    Durham 153 & 344 v Surrey 322 & 176-5 - Surrey win by 5 wickets

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Surrey have really done themselves some favours at the top of the table, moving clear of Notts.

Durham haven't won since May and this threat of relegation is becoming a reality.

It's another game that doesn't go to four days for Durham.

    Surrey (332 & 176-5) beat Durham (153 & 344) by five wickets

WICKETpublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 31 July

    Foakes b Potts 7 (Durham v Surrey 174-5 - target 176)

Ben Foakes needed to see this out and he cuts Matt Parkinson for four through cover to bring Surrey one hit away. He then flicks through midwicket for three and keeps the strike.

Two to win but then he plays all around one from Matty Potts who splatters his stumps!

Surrey rather falling over the line now.

    Middleton c Roderick b Finch 24 (Worcs 249 v Hants 293 & 76-2)

He takes a good catch low to his right.

  19. 'They've decided enough is enough'published at 17:26 British Summer Time 31 July

    Durham v Surrey 158-3 (target 176)

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

It looks to me as if Durham have decided, that's it.

They've decided enough is enough with a couple of sixes in the over.

I don't think we will be needing the extra half hour, the runs have absolutely rattled around.

  20. Resumption at Chester-le-Streetpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 31 July

    Durham v Surrey 151-3 - target 176

The skies have cleared enough at Chester-le-Street and Surrey have put their foot down.

Sam Curran drives Matty Potts beautifully past mid-off for four before Dan Lawrence pulls him for a second six over deep square.

Matt Parkinson drags one down and Curran cuts for four and then pulls another short ball over midwicket for six.
