    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

  3. 100 runs

for Carlsonpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 31 July

    Lancs 137 v Glamorgan 261 & 211-2

First-class century number 15 for Glamorgan's Kiran Carlson!

It's come in good time at Old Trafford, off 120 balls, and his side can really kick on now.

They lead by 335 with eight wickets still in hand.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 31 July

    Clark c Patel b Lawrence 42 (Durham 153 & 290-6 v Surrey 332)

The new ball strikes for Surrey...

but via the off spin of Dan Lawrence!

Some turn from just outside off takes the inside edge of Graham Clark's lunge forward and it flicks off the pad for a very simple catch to short leg.

Breaks a very stubborn stand of 71 in 32 overs.

  5. Yorks acceleratingpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 31 July

    Yorks 426-6 v Sussex 222

Yorks have really put the foot to the floor this morning and have added 133 in 26 at well over five an over.

A four off the final delivery of the over from George Hill off James Coles takes his score to 55 and the damage in the last two overs to 22.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 31 July

    Hose c Brown b Baker 82 (Worcs 187-3 v Hants 293)

Adam Hose fails to add to his overnight score and he will be furious at how his innings has come to an end.

Sonny Baker fires one across him and he gets a flick of a glove or perhaps the face of his bat as he tries to help it to long leg.

Ben Brown completes the strangling behind the stumps.

  7. Play at New Roadpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 31 July

    Worcs 187-2 v Hants 293

Sonny Baker gets us under way at New Road after an hour and a half delay and Jake Libby defends towards mid off.

Libby has 70 and Adam Hose is at the non-strikers on 82.

  8. 'They've done a great job so far'published at 12:30 British Summer Time 31 July

    Durham 153 & 286-5 v Surrey 322

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Clark has found a bit of fluency in the last couple of overs.

The key thing here is that they've done a great job so far this morning, they just need to keep doing this to lunchtime.

  9. 250 runs

up for Nottspublished at 12:29 British Summer Time 31 July

    Notts 250-3 v Somerset 438

First batting point on the board for Notts as Haseeb Hameed cuts Jack Leach to deep cover for a single to move to 131.

Jack Haynes with him on 15 and the second new ball available in one over for Somerset.

  10. rain stops play

Rain stops playpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 31 July

    Essex 602-6d v Warwickshire 169-2

Light rain is back at Chelmsford and the players are off.

There has been no joy for Essex's bowlers this morning in nine overs but Warwickshire have not shown a huge amount of intent either.

Sam Cook has bowled four overs for 16 runs, Jamie Porter has sent down four at a cost of 13 runs and Shane Snater has joined the attack with a maiden.

  11. Postpublished at 12:18 British Summer Time 31 July

    Durham 153 & 265-5 v Surrey 332

Eight overs gone with the second new ball and nothing so far for Surrey.

Nightwatchman Codi Yusef continues to be a nuisance and has taken two boundaries off Dan Worrall to move to 22.

A short wide one was cut away and then a defensive push to a tighter line ran wide of gully.

    The hosts lead by 96.

  12. Postpublished at 12:13 British Summer Time 31 July

    Lancs 137 v Glamorgan 261 & 166-2

Glamorgan's lead is up to 290 at Old Trafford.

Captain Sam Northeast has just joined his batting partner Kiran Carlson in reaching fifty.

Carlson has moved up to 81 and Lancashire are staring down the barrel.

  13. 'Surrey are being patient'published at 12:13 British Summer Time 31 July

    Durham 153 & 264-5 v Surrey 322

    Kit Harris
    BBC Sport commentator

Surrey are being patient, they have the attacking quality to be patient.

Durham's only way of getting through this is by outwaiting them which is going to be very difficult.

  14. Postpublished at 12:08 British Summer Time 31 July

    York 375-6 v Sussex 222

The fourth batting point is within reach with 25 needed from 20 deliveries if Yorkshire have a go. They probably will not risk it.

  15. Clark v Clarkpublished at 12:03 British Summer Time 31 July

Durham 250-5 lead Surrey by 81

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Surrey have just taken the new ball and Surrey fast bowler Jordan Clark and just delivered a juicy bouncer to his brother Graham.

The batsman did well to rock out of the road of it, but I think it caught the grill of his helment and he had to be checked over by the Durham physio. But he appears to be OK.

Graham has 23 runs and nightwatchman Codi Yusuf has 11. They have done well so far today but Durham need to bat well into day three, if not day four, to save this one.

  16. Rain stops play at Canterburypublished at 11:59 British Summer Time 31 July

    Kent 217-3 v Leics 471

Covers come on at CanterburyImage source, Rex Features

The forecast heavy rain has arrived in Kent and the players go off.

This might be a lengthy delay.

  17. 'It's all about longevity'published at 11:58 British Summer Time 31 July

    Durham 153 & 250-5 v Surrey 322

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

It's been a slow morning in terms of the bat, but it's all about longevity.

Durham will want to be batting for a long time.

  18. Third batting point for Yorkspublished at 11:57 British Summer Time 31 July

    Yorks 350-6 v Sussex 222

A third batting point for the White Rose as George Hill blocks a single off Harry Crocombe.

The hosts have made short work off knocking off the two points this morning adding 58 in 50 minutes.

Yorks intend to bat as long as it takes to remove a Sussex win from the mixer but the balance, as ever, is leaving enough time in the game.

  19. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:56 British Summer Time 31 July

    Clarke c Abell b Gregory 42 (Notts 225-3 v Somerset 438)

Somerset celebrate taking wicketImage source, Rex Features

    Now Lewis Gregory does strike!

But it's to remove Joe Clarke and Somerset have their first wicket of day three.

He pushes too keenly at a ball angled into the right-hander and he pops up a catch to short midwicket.

A good catch from Tom Abell diving forward.

  20. 100 runs

partnershippublished at 11:51 British Summer Time 31 July

    Notts 218-2 v Somerset 438

A controlled pull by Joe Clarke from outside off in front of deep square brings two runs to raise a century stand with Haseeb Hameed.

Shortly before, there was a caught and bowled half chance for Lewis Gregory as Hameed drove in the air back at the bowler.

Gregory stuck out his right hand but got little, if anything, on it and the ball ran down the ground for the first boundary of the day.
