Sherfane Rutherford came to the crease with West Indies 22-4. There had been a series of rash shots at that point, but he batted with a real calmness and maturity to drag his side up to a total.

It was a perfectly paced innings too. He was 20 off 21 balls but finished 68 not out from 39.

He hit six sixes and two fours. Four of those sixes and both fours came in the final two overs.

New Zealand captain Kane Williamson will have all sorts running through his head at the moment.

Was he right to bowl out his three main pace bowlers - Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson - by the 18th over?

It left him with Daryl Mitchell bowling his first over in the 19th and then the spin of Mitchell Santner bowling the final set.

Those two overs cost 37 runs and have given West Indies a lot of momentum at the interval.

West Indies were absolutely nowhere a matter of overs ago and now they've got a more than respectable total.

    What a remarkable comeback.

You can see the pressure now getting to New Zealand. Some of the fielding is getting a bit ragged.

A superb knock. One of the best in the tournament given the context of the game.

Every single one of Rutherford's team-mates are on their feet, so is everyone in the cricket ground.

They appreciate that innings. That is a T20 innings of the highest class.

    WI 131-9

Really clever stuff from Sherfane Rutherford. He takes a single to end the over and bring up his half-century.

It comes up off 33 balls with five sixes and no fours!

It's been a very mature innings from the left-hander.

    Six more.

    Is this turning the game?

It's short from Daryl Mitchell, and even though Sherfane Rutherford doesn't get all of it, it clears the fine leg boundary.

The decision to bowl out the main bowlers is coming back to haunt Kane Williamson.

    It's outta here.

Daryl Mitchell is the bowler to go after. Rutherford has got to hit boundaries and farm the strike.
