It was good bowling by Jofra Archer. After trying to bowl yorkers, he changed the pace with a slower ball, into the legs of Williamson and forcing him to hit to the bigger boundary.

  2. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 93 balls

    Williamson c Cartwright b Archer 53 (Spirit 168-4)

A bit of relief for Jofra Archer.

The slower ball deceives Kane Williamson and it flies up to Hilton Cartwright for a simple catch, running in from the boundary.

A wonderful knock from Williamson, he's put Spirit in a very promising position.

  3. Spirit 168-3published at 91 balls

Another full toss... but Archer gets away with it.

Williamson clubs it away for two.

  4. 50 runs

50 for Kane Williamsonpublished at 90 balls

    Spirit 164-3

A 26-ball fifty for Kane Williamson, what a knock.

He gets there with an outside edge past the keeper, but it's deliberately controlled.

Oh, and it's a no-ball for height! Williamson will get a free hit. Nightmare for Jofra Archer...

  5. Spirit 160-3published at 90 balls

    Four more!

Full toss, and that'll also make Sean Dickson feel much better.

Jofra Archer, who has bowled 15 balls for 33 runs, is going to finish his spell...

  6. 6 runs

    Spirit 156-3published at 87 balls

A much-needed six for Sean Dickson, who was struggling to get going with seven from eight balls previously.

It's not the cleanest strike but still has enough to get over square leg for six.

    Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Two

Exceptional batting, Just opened the face of the bat and guided the ball over backward point for six.

  8. Spirit 150-3published at 85 balls

My word, how has Kane Williamson done that?

He's not the most powerful striker of a ball but his timing is exquisite. Wide from Jofra Archer and Williamson has somehow driven it up and over backward point for six!

  9. Spirit 139-3published at 80 balls

    20 balls to go.

Kane Williamson is 40 from 23 balls and he's got to finish strongly here.

    • Posting under 145: 2 wins, 8 losses
  11. Spirit 133-3published at 76 balls

James Coles has bowled well there, so he's kept on to bowl 10 in a row... but Kane Williamson has the measure of him now.

The Spirit captain nails a reverse sweep for four.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 71 balls

    Turner c Cartwright b Coles 22 (Spirit 126-3)

    Big wicket!

Ashton Turner picks out Hilton Cartwright after top-edging a slog sweep, breaking an important partnership.

He falls for 22 from 15 balls.

  13. Spirit 126-2published at 70 balls

Very good from Jordan Thompson, who mixes up his pace well and stems the flow of runs - for now.

He's bowled 10 balls for eight runs.

  14. Spirit 122-2published at 65 balls

Jofra Archer hasn't been at his best this evening.

Too wide and Kane Williamson cuts through the off side for another four.

    Huge!

Jofra Archer bangs it in short and Kane Williamson has absolutely launched that. Into the top tier for six, wow!

Great stuff from Williamson, he has been down sweeping and next ball he is stepping out and attacking. That's what you expect from a world-class batter.

  18. 6 runs

    Spirit 109-2published at 60 balls

    Heaved over mid-wicket for six!

More aggression from Kane Williamson against the spinner. After the loss of the openers, London Spirit are on the charge again.

As a batter, you weigh up what the ideal target is on this pitch and at this point, they'll probably be thinking towards 200 here.

  20. Spirit 99-2published at 55 balls

    The runs keep coming!

James Coles can't believe it, as his second ball races away for four via Ashton Turner's inside edge, only just missing the leg stump.

It's much more convincing from Kane Williamson, though, as he reverse sweeps nicely for another boundary.
