It's aggressive from Ashton Turner. You can really see a shift from London Spirit's batting today and it's lovely to see.

Ashton Turner is the real danger, he can hit the long ball and play some remarkable strokes. There is plenty of batting still to come for the Spirit.

Southern Brave have been the most economical team in the middle overs this season, conceding at just 1.26 runs per ball between balls 25 and 75 of the innings.

  4. 6 runs

    Spirit 88-2published at 50 balls

Ashton Turner has had enough of rebuilding the innings.

He clubs his first boundary down the ground off Craig Overton, and then goes one better - the same shot but it sails over for six!

Overton completes an expensive spell - he's gone for 43 from his 20 balls.

  5. Spirit 75-2published at 45 balls

Spirit have a decent platform thanks to Warner and Smith but the Brave's bowlers have a big chance to squeeze Kane Williamson and Ashton Turner.

Southern Brave are fighting back here, a couple of wickets and they are now looking to squeeze and get a couple of more.

  7. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 40 balls

    Smith c Cartwright b Bracewell 44 (Spirit 71-2)

    Both openers gone!

Having struck the previous ball for four, Jamie Smith tries to keep the pressure on Michael Bracewell but he picks out Hilton Cartwright at mid-wicket.

Two wickets in four balls, and Southern Brave are right back in it.

It's a good piece of bowling from Michael Bracewell. You see the ball coming off the chalk end of David Warner's bat for, what I want to say is an easy catch, but there are no easy catches.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 36 balls

    Warner c Thompson b Bracewell 25 (Spirit 66-1)

    Breakthrough!

A little slower from Michael Bracewell, and David Warner can't execute the reverse sweep.

Jordan Thompson takes a smart running catch at backward point and Southern Brave needed that - it was a brilliant opening stand between Warner and Jamie Smith.

  10. Spirit 66-0published at 35 balls

Good response from Michael Bracewell, but this has still been a great start for Spirit.

    Where's this been before now?!

Spin has been very handy at Lord's this year, it's not been easy to hit. With that said, David Warner has just hammered that down the ground!

  12. 6 runs

    Spirit 61-0published at 32 balls

David Warner has had enough of watching Jamie Smith have all the fun.

Michael Bracewell's second ball is dispatched into the pavilion for six more!

It's never nice when you see a big fast bowler go down like that.

  14. Spirit 55-0published at 30 balls

    Phew.

There's a moment of concern as Reece Topley, who is historically very unlucky with injuries, goes down after fielding in his follow-through.

He grimaces and clutches his shoulder, but he looks okay. The physio comes out for some treatment but he is able to move it around. He will leave the field for some treatment but he doesn't look overly worried.

  15. 6 runs

    Spirit 53-0published at 27 balls

    Jamie Smith is flying!

A lofted four over cover greets Reece Topley back into the attack, followed by a six off a filthy full toss.

39 from 14 balls for Smith as David Warner can just sit back and watch from the non-striker's end for now.

Good starts is what you need in this tournament, to be able to build a platform after which you can explode. It's when you lose wickets early, that's when things get difficult.

Jamie Smith has hit five sixes inside the powerplay so far this season, the second most for a batter behind Zak Crawley (seven).

  18. Spirit 43-0published at 25 balls

    Oh, lovely.

A reverse scoop from David Warner, picked right off middle stump off Craig Overton's bowling.

Brave shot, perfectly executed. London Spirit have dominated the powerplay, it's their best of the tournament so far.

This is a good start from London Spirit. They are usually a couple of wickets down early.

  20. Spirit 35-0published at 20 balls

The Archer/Warner reunion is somewhat more underwhelming, as the former Australia opener just dabs a single to get to the non-striker's end.

Decent recovery from Archer after the opening six.
