  1. 300 up for Kentpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 300-5

Simon Harmer is into the attack, he is yet to take a wicket from 41 overs but goes close to getting Jaydn Denly before he is able to get off the mark.

A single from Ben Compton brings up the 300 and a second batting point in the 106th over.

  2. 100 for Adam Lythpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 14 April

    Gloucs 263 v Yorkshire 326 & 171-0

Yorkshire opener Adam Lyth brings up his 34th first-class century - a knock which has put his side in complete control of this Division Two game in Bristol.

The lead is up to 234 and the visitors might not even need to call on Joe Root and Harry Brook who are waiting in the pavilion.

  3. Postpublished at 12:46 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 316-4

    Was that out?

James Fuller is convinced Keaton Jennings got a little edge or a nick off the glove behind to the wicketkeeper, but the umpire is unmoved.

Fuller, from round the wicket, got one to jag back a tad and Jennings, aiming to play into the offside, was cramped for room.

  4. SURREY ALL OUT FOR 428published at 12:45 British Summer Time 14 April

    Somerset 285 v Surrey 428 - Surrey lead by 143 runs

Kasey Aldridge gets his fifth wicket to bring Surrey's innings to a close.

It's a slightly fortuitous one as Jamie Overton tries to smack it away for four but only succeeds in chopping the ball back onto his stumps.

Aldridge, who finished with figures of 5-64, wheels away in delight as Overton berates himself!

  5. 50 runs

50 for Nathan Smithpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 14 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 307-8

New Zealander Nathan Smith has his first half-century for Worcestershire, and has brought his side's deficit under 100 in the process.

  6. 'Next two or three hours pivotal'published at 12:42 British Summer Time 14 April

    Somerset 285 v Surrey 428-9

    Dan Whiting
    BBC Radio London

I think Surrey will be happier, they've extended their lead.

The next two or three hours of this game will be pivotal as to the outcome.

    It's still a decent wicket.

One thing you can be certain of is that Surrey will come out all guns blazing.

  7. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 14 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 286-4

Graham Clark joined Alex Lees at the crease after the earlier Ollie Robinson dismissal and has proved a more than steady partner for the Durham opener.

Their fifth-wicket stand is up to 48 and Lees is closing in on 150.

  8. wicket

WICKET: Finch c Westley b Critchley 6published at 12:40 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 298-5

Harry Finch prods a tame shot straight to skipper Tom Westley at mid-on to give up his wicket rather easily.

Ben Compton has stood firm while seeing four of his colleagues depart this morning.

    He's on to 122 from 295 balls.

  9. No breakthrough for Hampshirepublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 311-4

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

Lancashire are slowly but surely batting themselves into a position where they will be thinking about getting a decent lead and putting Hampshire under pressure on the last day.

The second new ball has not brought any wickets so far and Keaton Jennings and George Bell have picked up where they left off last night, looking in little trouble.

The wicket is still playing true, if a little slow.

Taking wickets at the Utilita Bowl has, on this showing at least, become a lot more difficult than in recent seasons.

  10. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 311-4

It's a century partnership between Keaton Jennings and George Bell for Lancashire's fifth wicket.

Bell is on 33 and Jennings 139.

  11. 'Essex on top'published at 12:34 British Summer Time 14 April

    Essex 530-7 dec v Kent 298-4

    Matt Cole
    BBC Radio Kent

Essex have had the better of the session, bowling really well so far.

  12. 100 for Nathan Fernandespublished at 12:32 British Summer Time 14 April

    Northants 552-6 dec v Middlesex 198-1

Nathan Fernandes celebrates scoring a centuryImage source, Getty Images

What a way to mark your first-class debut!

Middlesex opener Nathan Fernandes goes to his century with a 14th boundary. It's come off 208 balls.

I'm sure he'll celebrate when he turns 20 later this month, but for now it's back to business...

  13. Postpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 14 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 295-8

    Ouch!

Joe Leach nails a shot to the leg side but it clatters off the ankle of Notts' short leg fielder Jack Haynes.

    A very sore one.

  14. wicket

WICKET: Atkinson c Aldridge b Pretorius 15published at 12:29 British Summer Time 14 April

    Somerset 285 v Surrey 425-9

A first Somerset wicket for Migael Pretorius.

Gus Atkinson tries to pull Pretorius but gets a big old top edge giving Kasey Aldridge has a catch to go with his four wickets.

Surrey's lead is 140 and Somerset need one more wicket.

  15. Postpublished at 12:26 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 304-4

There can't be too many better players of spin in the English county game than Keaton Jennings, as Test centuries in India and Sri Lanka would suggest.

A sweep for four off slow-left-armer Liam Dawson is quickly followed by a couple of steps down the pitch to loft Dawson over his head for another boundary.

Lancashire, yet to lose a wicket today, have passed 300 for a second batting bonus point and are now within 63 of Hampshire's first-innings total.

    Jennings is up to 133.

  16. Division Two latestpublished at 12:22 British Summer Time 14 April

Max Holden and Nathan Fernandes shake handsImage source, Rex Features

There's a great story developing at Northants... Middlesex teenager Nathan Fernandes is into the 90s on his first-class debut. The visitors are 187-1 at Wantage Road with Max Holden also going past fifty.

Yorkshire's lead is now past 200 at Gloucestershire and they still haven't lost a wicket. Adam Lyth has 79 and Finlay Bean is on 56 in Yorkshire's 139-0.

Sussex are into the lead at Leicestershire. They're 360-6 and 22 ahead with John Simpson and Danny Lamb's seventh-wicket stand worth 78.

In Cardiff it's still nip and tuck between Glamorgan and Derbyshire. The hosts are 134-5 and 173 in front with Colin Ingram unbeaten on 51.

  17. Postpublished at 12:21 British Summer Time 14 April

    Notts 399 v Worcs 291-8

Joe Leach is doing his best to hold up Nottinghamshire as they bid to take the final two wickets they require in Worcestershire's first innings.

Leach is a big Wolves fan and his team were playing Nottingham Forest a few hundred yards down the road at the City Ground in the Premier League yesterday.

That one ended in a draw and Worcestershire, probably likely to face a deficit of about 100 on first innings unless their tail finds some proper resistance, would probably take the same result right now if it was offered.

  18. Postpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 14 April

    Somerset 285 v Surrey 406-8

It's Overton v Overton time again.

Craig goes close to getting Jamie with the third ball of the over and gives a puff of the cheeks.

But the next ball Jamie clubs a four down the ground to claim the family bragging rights for now.

  19. The runs keep comingpublished at 12:14 British Summer Time 14 April

    Warwickshire 698-3 dec v Durham 261-4

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

We have had 959 runs in this game so far, but only seven wickets - and only one of those has fallen today.

Ollie Robinson was on 60 when he top-edged a ball from Danny Briggs and it found its way to Ed Barnard at mid-off. The previous ball had been smashed into the stand for six.

It ended his partnership with Alex Lees at 99 runs. Lees is still out there though. He finished as the top scorer in the country last season with more than 1,300 runs and five centuries. He he has another hundred today.

He is currently on 125 and while he is out there Durham can eat up more time in this game. There's still a lot of work to do though, following Warwickshire's first-innings total of 698-3 declared.

  20. Postpublished at 12:10 British Summer Time 14 April

    Hampshire 367 v Lancashire 281-4

Keaton Jennings gets away with a loose drive off Kyle Abbott, edging over the slip cordon for four.

If you're going to swish, swish hard, as the old adage goes. It served Jennings well there and he's onto 115.
