Well suddenly the complexion changes and it is six more. Jordan with massive runs in every sense.

  2. 6 runs

    Brave 124-6published at 99 balls

    Back-to-back sixes from Chris Jordan.

12 runs off two balls from the England all-rounder and he gets every bit of that shot spot on, firing it over on the full toss from Sean Abbott.

Excellent shots at this late stage.

  3. 6 runs

    Brave 118-6published at 98 balls

A huge shot from Chris Jordan finds six, just a few metres further forward than what should have been a six for James Coles two balls ago.

Those runs at this stage are very important.

Wow. What a grab that was!

No wonder Jacob Bethell gets a standing ovation from the fans down there when he returns to his fielding position.

Oh, brilliant catch. Jacob Bethell getting airborne, probably 10 yards from where Ben Stokes so memorably took a catch against South Africa to start the 2019 World Cup. It wasn't quite like that, but he dived to his right, a yard or so inside the boundary and takes a screamer.

    Coles c Bethell b Abbott 4 (Brave 111-6)

What a superb catch from Jacob Bethell!

Not a lot wrong with that flick of the wrists through the leg side from James Coles, but Jacob Bethell takes a superb diving grab at deep square, not only to claim the wicket, but also to stop a six.

    Brilliant fielding.

Gentle hum and hush around The Oval. Plenty of orange shirts around The Oval. They might be making a weekend of it, those supporters...

  8. Brave 111-5published at 95 balls

Tim Southee carries on from Adam Milne and ends his evening with the ball excellently.

Just four singles from his last set and although he failed to take a wicket tonight, he still only gave up 18 runs from his 20 balls.

He's a very good all-rounder, James Coles. He's quite a technically correct batter.

He's just learning in his early years, he's 20 years old, how to just expand his game a little bit.

  10. Brave 107-5published at 90 balls

An excellent display with the ball from Adam Milne for the Birmingham Phoenix.

He ends with figures of 3-18 off his 20 balls, giving up three singles in that set.

Just 10 balls left for the Southern Brave to kick on their score. James Coles and Chris Jordan are the two out in the middle.

Liam Livingstone takes the catch, it hit high up on the bat of Laurie Evans and after six, he's gone. 14 from 10.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 86 balls

    Evans c Livingstone b Milne 14 (Brave 104-5)

    Adam Milne strikes again!

Laurie Evans went to start Milne's final set in the same way he ended that last from Chris Wood, with a big old heave for six.

This time, there is much less success, holing out to Liam Livingstone at long on, who holds on to an easy catch.

Interestingly, the Southern Brave have sent Chris Jordan out here, the Brave sending out their 'whackers' out now to try and get this score up towards something that could be challenging.

  14. 6 runs

    Brave 104-4published at 85 balls

A humongous six from Laurie Evans brings Southern Brave into three figures.

A fuller ball from Wood is smashed back over his head and the crowd are all scrambling to try and catch it.

    Some shot!

It will be an interesting 20 balls or so. You look at it and think two a ball, that's 40 runs, that gets you to 135, that's about what we thought would be a decent score on this pitch.

If they can get beyond that, they put themselves in a very good position, if they get less than that, Birmingham Phoenix will be very happy with the job they have done.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 81 balls

    Pollard c Mousley b Wood 2 (Brave 95-4)

An opportunity missed for the Southern Brave.

A big wicket for Chris Wood and the Birmingham Phoenix. A shorter ball from Wood makes it awkward for Pollard to attack.

He gets plenty on the shot, but it is skied up in the air, giving Dan Mousley a comfortably catch at mid-on.

  17. Brave 95-3published at 80 balls

A more measured start from Kieron Pollard, just a couple of singles so far.

Sean Abbott with some good bowling to restrict both him and Laurie Evans in this latest set.

Just the five runs come from it.

  18. Brave 90-3published at 75 balls

There are not many players in world cricket you would want coming in to finish off an innings other than Kieron Pollard.

He will hope to make advantage of any errors, even fractional ones, from the Phoenix's bowlers.

Vince looked like he was just ticking there. He wanted to get on with it, he wanted to try and propel his team to a good total, to a defendable total but the Phoenix as they have done consistently throughout this tournament have taken an important wicket at an important time.

  20. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 74 balls

    Vince c Abbott b Howell 43 (Brave 90-3)

Benny Howell gets him this time!

A similar ball and similar shot to the last from James Vince, but he does not get the timing on it and picks out Sean Abbott at deep mid-wicket, who takes an easy catch.

An important knock of 43, but his departure gives the Brave the chance to bring in the experience Kieron Pollard for the final 26 balls.
