My spread was 135-150. I think 150 is a very good score. I think 135 could be defendable.

  2. Brave 90-2published at 73 balls

James Vince advances into the 40s. Benny Howell's ball is straying down the leg side and Vince makes no mistake in sending it away for four.

  3. Brave 84-2published at 70 balls

Four runs come off the set, with Tim Southee doing well to restrict the Brave in that set.

30 balls to come and the Brave will look for a strong end, helped by the fact that captain James Vince is still in and already on 38.

There is nothing. It's so close. Tim Southee was absolutely convinced.

    Brave 82-2

The Phoenix lose their review, with the technology showing no sign of contact with Laurie Evans' bat.

    That did look close though.

  6. Phoenix reviewpublished at 68 balls

Tim Southee thinks he's found the outside edge of Laurie Evans' bat.

Umpire Michael Burns says no. Moeen Ali doesn't believe him. Upstairs we go.

Milne there just not quite getting his line right, angling the ball onto Laurie Evans' pads and he just flicks it around the corner and gets four runs for it. A fan over the boundary stood there like 'I want the ball', you have got to catch it when you get a six, mate!

  8. Brave 80-2published at 65 balls

Laurie Evans is the next batter in and he wastes no time at all in getting off the mark, nudging his first ball fine to find four.

A six-run set, but Adam Milne did find that all-important wicket of Leus du Plooy.

He just hits it straight to Jamie Smith, don't know what he's moaning about on his way off but he's definitely smashed that.

    Adam Milne gets that breakthrough!

Leus du Plooy goes on 39 in a manner he will have been disappointed with.

Milne takes the pace off the ball, Du Plooy tried to be innovative and reverse ramp it over Jamie Smith.

Instead, all he can manage is gloving the ball behind him to give England's Test wicketkeeper a simple catch.

  11. Brave 74-1published at 60 balls

A nine-run set for the Brave, following on that four with some hard running just more intent with the bat.

The Phoenix could really do with a breakthrough and looking for it is Adam Milne, who returns to the attack.

It could be a well timed acceleration couldn't it? If you get two a ball from now, they're going to have a massive score on the board and these two and with who's to come could definitely get two a ball.

  13. Brave 69-1published at 56 balls

Leus du Plooy has got the memo.

He sends the first ball of this Chris Wood set over the rope with a pull through the leg side for a one-bounce four.

Now, we're starting to see what these two are capable of.

It's a great shot from James Vince, one of the best of the day, just lofts the ball up and over extra cover. Up on his toes, the way that he waited for that ball.

  15. Brave 65-1published at 55 balls

Brave captain James Vince goes back-to-back with fours, sending deliveries from Moeen Ali to the rope, first through cover and then at backwards point.

Vince is the competition's leading run scorer and is on course for another big score here.

An 11-run set given up by Moeen.

    Henry Moeran
Commentator on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

With just one wicket down, what you don't want to be doing in a knockout game is finding yourself with wickets left in the hutch with the likes of Laurie Evans, James Coles, Kieron Pollard thinking 'well, maybe if we'd gone on a bit harder and taken a few risks, we'd be in a much more dominant position'.

  17. Brave 54-1published at 50 balls

Eight runs come off the first set from Benny Howell, with runs scored off every delivery.

The Phoenix will be happy, but these two Brave batters are now well set and runs do not look easy to score out there.

  18. Brave 52-1published at 48 balls

An interesting couple of seconds there results in a four for Leus du Plooy.

A slog sweep is almost taken by a brilliant dive from Jacob Bethell, but he misses the ball completely.

That then confuses the fielder behind him and Du Plooy's shot, which could have been stopped for one or two, finds four.

  19. Brave 46-1published at 45 balls

A good comeback from Sean Abbott against James Vince, who struggles to get the ball to go anywhere.

Five runs come off the first four balls, with Vince struggling to get the ball to go anywhere.

Leus du Plooy, meanwhile lofts a cover drive for four off the last ball, taking the total off that set to nine.

  20. Brave 41-1published at 41 balls

Now we're seeing a bit more risk taken.

James Vince meets Sean Abbott's first delivery of the set with a thrash through the leg side.

He doesn't get the cleanest of connections off the bat, but it is more than enough to send it flying for four.
