  1. No bank holiday for Kent?published at 16:52 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancashire 92 & 332 all out v Kent 261

    Adam Lanigan
BBC Sport at Emirates Old Trafford

Hopes of a bank holiday off for Kent players and a quick dash down the M1 back to Canterbury after a three-day win are receding fast.

Lancashire's batters have dug in well today and have really made the visiting bowlers work hard.

Sunshine has greeted the players for this final session.

But with Lancashire now all out, Kent have 24 overs tonight to get to their victory target of 164.

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 84-2 - trail by 214

Dan Moriarty and Dom Bess send down a maiden apiece as Sam Northeast and Kiran Carlson weigh anchor.

Carlson pushes forward in defence to Moriarty's 11th over and then suddenly dances down the wicket to his fifth ball in attack mode.

He goes aerial but comfortably beats the field to the long off boundary.

  3. LANCASHIRE ALL OUT FOR 332published at 16:48 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Hartley b Parkinson 35

Nathan Lyon sees out the Wes Agar over but Tom Hartley has gone.

Matt Parkinson has bowled him round his legs as Hartley moves across and misses a sweep. A third wicket for the spinner.

    Kent will chase 164.

Time for a 10-minute breather while the Kent openers pad up.

  4. 'So good from Hurst today'published at 16:46 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 329-8 v Kent 261 - lead by 160

    Ben Watts
    BBC Radio Kent

A brilliant knock from Matty Hurst.

Just so, so good from him today.

The amount of time that he's batted, he's given his team a shot in this match with his efforts.

  5. 'It looks like Fisher turned his ankle'published at 16:46 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 73-2 - trail by 225

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Matthew Fisher was running after the ball a couple of yards inside the boundary rope. It was disappearing over the rope, there was no chance of stopping it.

As he was trying to stop himself from going into the boundary boards, he put his foot down and it looks like just a slight slip of the foot and maybe he's turned his ankle.

He was able to make his way around the boundary edge but gingerly.

  6. wicket

WICKET Bailey LBW b Agar 1published at 16:45 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 332-9 v Kent 261 - lead by 163

Close! Tom Bailey is caught on the crease and struck on the knee roll by Wes Agar in front of off stump.

    Full ball, angled in.

    The umpire raises his finger.

Nathan Lyon is in. Bat in hand.

  7. Bad light stops play at Lord'spublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Middlesex 330-4 v Leics 306

    So frustrating!

The game is nicely poised with Middlesex looking to set up a result, but the light has got worse and the umpires take the players off.

There's bright skies in the near-distance so fingers crossed it gravitates towards the ground sharpish.

  8. Postpublished at 16:43 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 331-8 v Kent 261 - lead by 162

Single to Tom Bailey third ball.

Matt Parkinson is really getting this ball to turn and bounce as Tom Hartley gets one that balloons off the bat via the pad.

    It lands safely, though.

Hartley gets one run off the last ball.

  9. wicket

WICKET Higgins b Green 7published at 16:41 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Middlesex 329-4 v Leics 306

Ryan Higgins goes for the big shot targetting the short boundary, but he's bang out of luck.

He swings, he misses and Ben Green hits, taking out Higgins' off-stump for his first wicket.

    Middlesex lead by 23 runs.

  10. Root turns his arm overpublished at 16:39 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 75-2 - trail by 223

Yorkshire skipper Shan Masood throws Joe Root the ball for his first over.

Kiran Carlson works his third ball away for two, but there's five dots in a tidy over.

  11. 150 for Sam Robsonpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Middlesex 328-3 v Leics 306

Sam Robson takes a single off Scott Currie to bring up 150.

It's been a wonderful knock, off 259 balls, on his return from injury, picked up while fielding in the opening game of the season against Glamorgan.

Ryan Higgins then picks up his first boundary before a single apiece ends a profitable over.

The umpires have a chat about the fading light, but we play on.

  12. wicket

    WICKET Hurst c Bell-Drummond b Parkinson 58published at 16:35 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 329-8 v Kent 261 - lead by 160

Now then! Can Lancashire keep Kent in the field deep into this session with Matty Hurst now gone?

Matt Parkinson gets the breakthrough with a bit of extra bounce as the ball drifts in, spins away and takes the edge on the top half of the bat.

Good low catch at slip by the Kent captain, Daniel Bell-Drummond.

A patient and crucial innings from the Lancashire keeper ends and now it's time for Tom Bailey to bat.

  13. Postpublished at 16:34 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 329-7 v Kent 261 - lead by 160

No early fireworks from Lancashire so far in this session as Matty Hurst plays Matt Parkinson defensively on the back foot.

    Maiden over.

Joey Evison is round the wicket to Tom Hartley, who is solidly behind the line of the ball to block on the front foot.

Shot! Wide of off stump and drilled to wide long off by Hartley for four.

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 72-2 - trail by 226

Both the openers are back in the hutch.

Eddie Byrom, unsure whether to stick or twist, goes for a slog sweep aiming to cart Dom Bess over midwicket, but he succeeds in only top-edging it.

Ben Coad gets round quickly to take the catch in the deep.

Kiran Carlson joins his skipper Sam Northeast.

  15. Postpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 325-7 v Kent 261 - lead by 156

Good line and length from Joey Evison.

    Tom Hartley defends.

The last ball is a tad full and Hartley clips the ball down the ground for a couple.

Those runs take the eighth wicket partnership to 50 off 99 balls.

  16. wicket

WICKET Du Plooy c Cox b Currie 131published at 16:26 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Middlesex 316-3 v Leics 306

    Leicestershire finally break the partnership.

Scott Currie comes around the wicket and gets one to lift up the slope.

It takes an outside edge high on Leus du Plooy's bat and through to wicketkeeper Ben Cox.

A lovely 193-ball knock and his first century at Lord's for Middlesex after his move from Derbyshire.

A first wicket since the first over of the day.

    Ryan Higgins comes in.

  17. Postpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

33 overs left in the day's play.

Lovely late afternoon in Manchester, with much of the Old Trafford field bathed in sunshine.

Tom Hartley nudges a single first ball.

Some sharp turn here for Matt Parkinson as Matty Hurst defends on the front foot.

Single to Hurst through square leg and Hartley keeps the strike with one pushed off the back foot to long on.

Joey Evison to bowl from the Statham End.
