    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 35-0 - trail by 263

Eddie Byrom drives a wide ball from Dan Moriarty through the covers to the rope.

    Four from the over.

Ben Coad starts his fifth over by leaking back-to-back fours as Billy Root plonks the second of them over the head of Matt Fisher at mid-on.

Two dots follow before Coad serves up a half-volley on off stump and Root tucks in for his third boundary of the over. He moves to 25 off 28 balls.

  2. Postpublished at 15:22 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 109-8 v Sussex 479 - trail by 124

All eyes on Zak Chappell now as the tail ender picks up 12 runs off the 23rd over to take Derbyshire beyond three figures.

He takes one hand off the bat as he launches James Coles down the ground for a four.

The hosts are still a long way from parity but at least there's a bit of fighting spirit on show.

  3. Postpublished at 15:20 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 290-7 v Kent 261 - lead by 121

An encouraging if streaky start for Tom Hartley, who picks up four runs, driving with a thick edge wide of slips off the bowling of Nathan Gilchrist.

Four more with a more controlled steer wide of the cordon to third man off the same bowler.

The lead creeps up to 121. How many would be needed for a really tense chase?

  4. 100 runs

100 for Leus du Plooypublished at 15:18 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Middlesex 248-2 v Leics 306

Leus du Plooy mirrors his batting partner and reaches three figures with a scampered three off Ben Green.

    It's come off 159 deliveries

It's a 20th first-class ton and a second of the season for the former Derbyshire man following his unbeaten 196 versus Northamptonshire.

And it's put Middlesex in a very good position in this match. They are now 58 in deficit.

  5. Postpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 19-0 - trail by 279

Nice timing brings Billy Root back-to-back boundaries off Ben Coad.

He climbs into a delivery which drops short and pulls it square for four. It's aeriel but perfectly safe.

He then nudges the next ball past gully to move to 13.

And we have spin in the eighth over as Dan Moriarty replaces Matt Fisher.

  6. Five-wicket haul for Jayden Sealespublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 88-8 v Sussex 479 - trail by 145

Make that 5-29 for Jayden Seales!

Jack Morley goes first ball, castled by the fast bowler.

Really good ball. The tail ender is pinned to the crease as the ball beats a defensive prod.

Daryn Dupavillon emerges from the pavilion to bat with Zak Chappell, who is on 16.

  7. Postpublished at 15:11 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 519-7 dec v Glamorgan 221 & 11-0 - trail by 289

Glamorgan will be desperate to get through to tea without damage.

So far so good but a long, long way to go.

Billy Root nudges a single intot he offside off Matthew Fisher.

Eddie Byrom then just about gets to the bounce. It catches an edge but drops mercifully short of the slips.

Fisher's three overs have cost two runs. Tidy stuff.

    Derbys 246 & 88-7 v Sussex 479 - trail by 145

And another! This game could end in a hurry with all the front line Derbyshire batting now gone.

    Jayden Seales now has 4-29.

Matt Lamb is pinned leg before and Jack Morley is in next.

  9. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

What's a tail ender to do here?

    Have a go, of course!

Zak Chappell is off the mark dispatching a leg side half volley from Jayden Seales square on the front foot for four.

    Well batted Sam Robson.

He scampers through for three off Tom Scriven to bring up three figures and he's been made to work hard against some good Leicestershire bowling.

It's the 32nd first-class ton of the former England opener's career and comes in just his second knock of the season after returning from injury.

It's also his third century in four matches stretching back to last season.

The landmark comes up off 198 balls and the Leicestershire lead is 74.

    Some return.

  12. wicket

WICKET Dal LBW b Sealespublished at 14:59 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 77-6 v Sussex 479 - trail by 156

    First ball!

Quick, back of a length and seaming in from Jayden Seales.

Anuj Dal is stuck on the crease, squared up, missing with a defensive jab and pinned in front of middle and leg.

Zak Chappell survives the hat trick ball but Derbyshire remain in huge strife with most of their batting blown away halfway through this afternoon session.

    Lancs 92 & 275-6 v Kent 261 - lead by 106

Joey Evison is warming up on the boundary. Might he have a bowl soon?

A brief drinks break and Nathan Gilchrist is back on.

George Bell finds a gap between slip and gully for a single with a controlled push.

Kent bowling with good control but they need to strike soon with this new ball.

  15. 'Kent need to break this partnership with the new ball'published at 14:55 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

A testing period, it feels like a big period.

If Lancashire can get through this then they really do have a chance posting a difficult run chase for Kent.

It feels like the away side need to break this partnership between George Bell and Matty Hurst with this new ball.

  16. Postpublished at 14:54 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 519-7 v Glamorgan 221 & 5-0 - trail by 293

Billy Root attempts a drive off Matthew Fisher's second ball, trying to flay him away through the legside.

It's a swing and a miss and luckily for Root the younger it misses his edge.

Root gets pff the mark with a single and then Eddie Byrom has a close shave.

He leaves a Fisher delivery which comes back in and misses off-stump, prompting a few oohs in the slip cordon.

  17. Postpublished at 14:53 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 274-6 v Kent 261 - lead by 105

A fuller length from Wes Agar to George Bell, who is forward to defend.

The next ball is edged but it lands short of Joe Denly at third slip.

    Soft hands saved him there.

Agar is back of a length now and Bell nudges into the off side for one.

  18. Postpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Yorkshire 519-7 v Glamorgan 221 & 4-0 - trail by 294

They've been run ragged in the field but Eddie Byrom makes a statement of intent to the second ball of the innings.

He drives Ben Coad through the covers for the only scoring shot of the over.

Lovely shot, exploiting the gaps in Yorkshire's predictably attacking field.

  19. wicket

WICKET Guest b Lamb 17published at 14:46 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Derbys 246 & 76-4 v Sussex 479 - trail by 157

    Derbyshire fans, look away now.

Danny Lamb bowls full with more than a hint of movement in off the seam.

Brooke Guest drives, misses and the ball knocks back the leg stump.

Aneurin Donald will try to stop the rot as the hosts slide into the danger zone of a possible innings defeat.

  20. Postpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 5 May 2024

    Lancs 92 & 272-6 v Kent 261 - lead by 103

    Maiden over for Nathan Gilchrist.

Wes Agar bowls at a lively pace from the Statham End but his first delivery is a no ball and that takes the lead past 100.

Matty Hurst checks a drive as the ball squirts harmlessly into mid on.

Two runs to Hurst tapped into the on side. Good running by the seventh wicket pair.
