  1. 6 runs

Postpublished at 11:48 British Summer Time 21 April

    Worcs 208-9 - target 295

Ethan Brookes reverse sweeps Simon Harmer but can't beat the field.

Harmer switches to round the wicket and Brookes responds by lofting him into the top tier of the stand at mid-wicket.

    Great shot.

  2. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:46 British Summer Time 21 April

    Patel c Simpson b Seales 24 (Sussex 435 v Surrey 429-6, trail by 6 runs)

Another for Seales, his second of the morning and a third for Sussex.

Ryan Patel is annoyed with himself for his shot but it was there to be hit.

It was wide and on the short side, but the Surrey man is undone by a little bit of extra bounce which takes impact from middle to top edge.

It is an easy catch for John Simpson behind the stumps, his second of the morning.

  3. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:45 British Summer Time 21 April

    Allison b Rajitha 0 (Worcs 202-9 - target 295)

Ethan Brookes steps down the pitch and clips Kasun Rajitha past the stumps at the bowlers' end for four.

He adds a single but there's the next wicket - a deadly yorker cleans up Ben Allison for a duck.

    Essex almost there.

  4. 'We could be in for an interesting day's cricket'published at 11:43 British Summer Time 21 April

    Sussex 435 v Surrey 429-5

    Adrian Harms
    BBC Sussex

Sussex are still going to have to bat here so it's going to be interesting.

If the weather holds we could be in for an interesting day's cricket.

  5. 'Porter has stepped up'published at 11:43 British Summer Time 21 April

    Essex 179 & 317 v Worcestershire 202 & 197-8

    Frank Watson
    BBC Hereford & Worcester

Excellent from Jamie Porter who has probably been the pick of the bowlers in the game and in this session particularly he has given Worcestershire absolutely nothing to work with whatever.

He's missing his partner in crime in Sam Cook in this game but just when Tom Westley might have wanted him to, he's actually stepped up and taken the mantle of senior bowler.

  6. 200 up for Glamorganpublished at 11:42 British Summer Time 21 April

    Middx 470-9d v Glamorgan 199 & 203-6 (trail by 68 runs)

Chris Cooke and Timm van der Gugten ensure Glamorgan climb to a milestone of sorts but it is the number in the wickets column which is the one everyone at Lord's have eyes on.

Six down and still trailing by 68, the visiting dressing room will have their eye on weather forecasts now.

  7. Postpublished at 11:41 British Summer Time 21 April

    Worcs 197-8 - target 295

Simon Harmer enters the fray, bowling to former Essex team-mate Ben Allison, who knows better than to attempt anything daft against the prolific spin bowler.

    Solid defence, maiden over.

  8. 150 up for Gloucestershirepublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 v Gloucs 472 & 150-2

Ollie Price dabs Kashif Ali down to third man for a single and Gloucestershire's score reaches 150.

They lead by 229 and assuming no weather interruptions - and that is a big assumption - how many might they need before contemplating a declaration?

  9. Fourpublished at 11:39 British Summer Time 21 April

    Hants 336 v Somerset 184 & 121-2 (trail by 31)

A back-foot punch from Sean Dickson is a timely boundary for the visitors, Somerset's first for a number of overs.

Dickson moves to 62, adding seven to his overnight tally this morning so far.

  10. Postpublished at 11:37 British Summer Time 21 April

    Worcs 197-8 - target 295

    So close.

Kasun Rajitha produces a perfect late away swinger which just misses the edge of Ethan Brookes' bat.

Good start by Essex's recent overseas signing.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:36 British Summer Time 21 April

    Foakes c Simpson b Seales 60 (Sussex 435 v Surrey 420-5, trail by 15 runs)

Bit of movement through the air for Jayden Seales and John Simpson takes a tumbling catch low to his right.

The West Indies quick has been the tidiest of the Sussex bowlers in this Surrey innings with 2-75 in 22 overs with the best economy rate on show.

  12. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 21 April

    Durham 427 v Yorks 307 & 165-4 (lead by 45 runs)

No breakthroughs in the first nine over for Durham this morning although Ben Raine has caused George Hill a few problems in that over.

First he induces a chip that just falls short of the bowler's follow through and the he gets a play and a miss.

  13. Postpublished at 11:34 British Summer Time 21 April

    Worcs 195-8 - target 295

First change of the morning by Essex. Here comes Sri Lankan Kasun Rajitha, who took four wickets in Worcestershire's first innings.

Ethan Brookes is fortunate as he plays a loose drive and ball ricochets into his boot via the inside edge, when it could easily have hit the stumps.

Brookes punches the back of his bat as a reminder not to do that again.

  14. 50 partnership for Gloucestershirepublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 21 April

    Kent 393 v Glos 472 & 147-2

Miles Hammond wasn't in control of that one but a thick edge over the slips off Kashif Ali brings him another boundary and raises a 50 partnership with Ollie Price from 106 balls.

Hammond advances to 37 not out.

  15. Postpublished at 11:31 British Summer Time 21 April

    Hants 336 v Somerset 184 & 113-2

Kyle Abbott produces a challenging over to Sean Dickson but the Somerset opener's defence is solid throughout and we have ourselves another maiden.

Somerset still trail by 39 runs.

  16. 'Durham are going to be a competitive side'published at 11:31 British Summer Time 21 April

    Durham 427 v Yorks 307 & 160-4

    Jonathan Doidge
    BBC Radio Leeds cricket commentator

Durham came into this game mathematically at the foot of the table after just the two matches but I think we've all seen here that they're going to be a difficult side to beat.

I know they lost against Warwickshire but that was only by the one wicket, so whatever the outcome here I still think they're going to be a competitive side.

It feels like a season where lots of teams in the first division are capable of beating each other. We're probably not going to get runaway winners which all adds to the interest.

  17. Five-wicket haul for Jamie Porterpublished at 11:24 British Summer Time 21 April

    Taylor c Walter b Porter 1 (Worcs 192-8 - target 295)

It looks like Sam Cook may be rewarded with a Test cap next month after being left out of this match at England's request, but what about Jamie Porter?

He takes five in an innings for the 22nd time in his career as Tom Taylor edges to Paul Walter at first slip.

Ben Allison comes out to join Ethan Brookes with Worcestershire needing another 103 to win - but it's more a question now of how soon Essex wrap this up.

  18. 'A classic Porter dismissal'published at 11:19 British Summer Time 21 April

    Essex 179 & 317 v Worcestershire 202 & 191-7

    Nick Gledhill
    BBC Essex

That is a huge wicket for Essex to take so early.

A classic Jamie Porter dismissal. A superb piece of bowling.

  19. 400 up for Surreypublished at 11:18 British Summer Time 21 April

    Sussex 435 v Surrey 402-4 (trail by 33 runs)

And a fourth batting bonus point for the champions.

The loss of Dan Lawrence is a minor inconvenience for Surrey who are closing in on a first innings lead.

It may not mean much given the state of the weather and the game but they will now chase on for the fifth bonus point available for 450.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 11:17 British Summer Time 21 April

    Lammonby c Prest b Abbott 24 (Hants 336 v Somerset 184 & 107-2)

That's the breakthrough Hampshire were looking for!

A good pitched up delivery from Kyle Abbott is edged to first-slip by Tom Lammonby straight to Tom Prest who takes a good catch on the up.

Lammonby went fishing for that one and pays the price with his wicket.
