We talk about India's depth but New Zealand are similar, with Devon Conway missing out today. They are such a well-balanced side and it was a great effort to restrict India to 249.

Mohammed Shami is going to open the bowling for India - he seems to have recovered from being hit on the back while batting.

Will Young and Rachin Ravindra are opening the batting for New Zealand. They can afford a steady start.

A little reminder that both India and New Zealand are both into the semi-finals.

Whoever wins today will face Australia, with the losers taking on South Africa.

And if 250 does prove enough this little spell from Hardik Pandya could be why.

Genuinely superb fielding. The tv pundits are split on whether 250 is enough for India.

    What do we think?

I am very well impressed with all the marvellous and difficult catches and a very tight fielding all over the ground by New Zealand. Well done.

New Zealand were exceptional in the field today.

The Glenn Phillips catch to get rid of Virat Kohli is an all-timer but there were some crackers...

'How has he done that?' - Kohli out for 11 after one handed Phillips catch

Nice one Tim. I thought New Zealand were excellent there, particularly in the early part of the innings and even my maths can work out that 250 off 300 balls feels very gettable.

So New Zealand will need 250 to win, back in the day needing five an over was seen as a tall order but these days that is well within reach.

That said, India's spinners will be a tough proposition here and I know just the person to take you through the next part of the match - it's Tom Rostance.

Good catch from Phillips, he's charged in there.

It's a good catch because he takes it on the move but the way he sets himself, you know he's not going to drop it.

Outstanding from New Zealand against India, the tournament favourites before this game.

    Mohammed Shami c Phillips b Henry 5 (Ind 249-9)

Another outstanding catch from a New Zealander as India's innings comes to an end.

Mohammed Shami pulled Henry's last ball high towards the square leg boundary, but Phillips judged it perfectly and in the process he gave the bowler his fifth wicket. He finishes with 5-42 from eight overs.

That last over makes you think India could be back in it but when you look at it from a wider perspective New Zealand have been comfortable.

    Ind 249-8published at 49.5 overs

Mohammed Shami slogs into the off side and gets two, although Mitchell Santner's throw hits the India bowler right between the shoulder blades as he races back into his crease.

Ravindra just for a moment looked like his feet might be going all over the place, but he takes it and it's a good one.

Not spectacular this time, but another good catch as Rachin Ravindra comes in from the rope to take a steepler that comes out of the sun at him.

Dubai is feeling like Mumbai again with the crowd chanting Hardik’s name and roaring every time ball meets bat.

It doesn't feel like a neutral venue.

Matt Henry takes the final over and there's nearly another great catch with Hardik's pull to leg landing just in front of the diving Glenn Phillips.

One over left of the innings and I think on this surface this could be an OK score for India.
