Josh Hull bowling to Keaton Jennings

Matty Hurst is off the mark with a four clipped off his legs from Ian Holland with the first ball he faces then blocks out the other two deliveries to take Lancs to lunch.

It will not be a particularly easy break for the still winless Lancs as they trail by plenty with seven second innings wickets remaining.

You feel the wicket of Marcus Harris just before lunch could prove pivotal but Keaton Jennings is at least still there on 38 but needing others to bat round him.

  2. Lunch at Chester le Streetpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 25 May

    Durham 277 & 159 v Somerset 172 & 174-3

It's been an excellent morning session on day three for Somerset, who are now just 91 runs from claiming victory at Chester le Street.

Opener Tom Lammonby has continued where he left off last night and is currently 65 not out.

We will be back in just over half an hour at Durham who still need to find seven wickets with a three-day defeat looking more and more likely.

  3. Lunch at Derbypublished at 13:05 British Summer Time 25 May

    Derbyshire 587-5 dec v Kent 282-5

Ben Compton reaches lunch at Derby on 150 not out, but his side are still more than 300 runs in arrears.

Derbyshire have picked up two wickets this morning, nightwatch Matt Parkinson and Jack Leaning, with Zak Chappell and Jack Morley the successful bowlers.

Chris Benjamin is with Compton now and the visitors need a sizeable partnership if they are to ensure against having to follow on.

  4. Lunch at The Ovalpublished at 13:02 British Summer Time 25 May

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 279-3

An excellent morning for Essex, who have added 83 for the loss of Dean Elgar at The Oval.

The South African battled his way to 64, despite appearing out of sorts, before being caught on the third man boundary.

Skipper Tom Westley and Charlie Allison have met the challenge with an unbroken stand of 74 to extend the lead to 217.

A painful moment for Jamie Overton just before lunch as he stops a cover drive with a part of his anatomy not usually used for that particular purpose.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 25 May

    Harris c Cox b van Beek (Leics 457 v Lancs 206 & 69-3)

And that is a crucial breakthrough for Leicestershire.

Logan van Beek sends an inviting delivery down outside off stump and Marcus Harris is tempted into a drive.

He is convinced he has not touched that and stands up with a shake of his head towards the umpire to indicate as much.

Leics players have no doubt they heard something and to Harris's dismay the umpire agrees.

A third of the morning for van Beek who has 3-16 to go with his 3-38 in Lancashire's first innings.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:57 British Summer Time 25 May

    Barnard c Libby b Waite 30 (Warwicks 151-5, lead by 197)

And two balls later, Ed Barnard has to go!

After being struck on the gloves a couple of times from Matthew Waite, he aims to hoink the seamer over long-on but miscues and the ball goes straight to third man Jake Libby, who was brought in following Barnard's boundary in the same over, to take a simple catch.

A quick-fire 30 from Barnard, often rather scratchy but vitally important runs as Warwickshire look to take the match away from their hosts.

  7. 150 runs

for Ben Comptonpublished at 12:56 British Summer Time 25 May

    Derbyshire 587-5 dec v Kent 280-5

Unruffled, unhurried, Ben Compton continues to go about things in his own single-minded way.

A dab for one off Jack Morley takes the left-handed opener to 150 from 269 balls.

  8. 150 runs

150 up for Warwickshirepublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 25 May

Worcs v Warwicks 151-4 (lead by 197 runs)

Ed Barnard cuts late down to third man with soft hands for another boundary to take him on to 30 and Warwickshire past the 150 mark.

    Their lead approaches 200.

  9. Postpublished at 83 overs

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 278-3

There is swing there for the Surrey bowlers, but Essex have coped with it really well this morning.

Tom Westley cover drives Dan Worrall for four to move to 44 not out and this stand with Charlie Allison is now worth 73 - the lead is 216.

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 25 May

Leaning lbw Morley 15 (Derbys 587-5 dec v Kent 276-5)

He knew he was gone as soon as he missed the ball.

Jack Leaning doesn't bother to look at the umpire as he walks off after trying to sweep spinner Jack Morley.

  11. rain stops play

Rain and an early lunch at Headingleypublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 25 May

    Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 318-6 (lead by 387 runs)

A heavy shower send the players scurrying off and with a bit more rain coming, the covers come on and a quick decision that that will be the end of the first session.

It is all a bit frustrating because there are patches of blue sky in between the clouds and the showers are short.

Anyway, the lead is already huge for Notts so you would think they will be having a big discussion at lunch as to how quickly they need to get Yorkshire in.

  12. 'No doubt about the catch'published at 12:51 British Summer Time 25 May

    Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 315-6

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

This second new ball is really troubling the batters out there.

I'm not necessarily sure this is a good thing for Yorkshire, they're going to have to bat last.

The bounce there was too much for Kyle Verreynne. There was no doubt about the validity of the catch this time.

  13. 50 runs

50 partnershippublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 25 May

    Worcs v Warwicks 138-4 (lead by 184)

Another fortuitous boundary from Ed Barnard, who looks destined to chop on to his own stumps but instead finds the rope behind him, brings up the 50 partnership between him and Sam Hain.

These are important runs for Warwickshire.

  14. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 25 May

    Du Plooy b Kuhnemann 4 (Glamorgan 383 v Middx 155 & 113-3)

Glamorgan brought in Australia spin bowler Matthew Kuhnemann for this match and boy is he repaying them for that generosity now.

The left-armer spins one back between bat and pad to bowl Leus du Plooy and now has 3-15 from six overs.

If he keeps this up, Glamorgan will be confident of a three-day win, which would be there third in a row.

  15. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 25 May

    Verreynne c Lyth b White 24 (Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 315-6)

Not much doubt about this one which takes the shoulder of Kyle Verreynne bat with a bit of bounce and flies to Adam Lyth who takes it over his head at second slip.

The lead is 384 runs but the ball is doing a bit off the pitch this morning which is a good thing now but will not be for the Yorkshire batters when Mo Abbas gets going later.

  16. Postpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 25 May

Durham v Somerset 160-3 (trail by 105 runs)

Too short, too wide from Ben Raine and it is cut away for four comfortably by Tom Lammonby who moves on to 62.

  17. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 25 May

    Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 311-5

    That's not great.

Kyle Verreynne (on 24) sends an edge to Adam Lyth at second slip and the catcher and slip cordon celebrate as if that has gone straight in.

The batsman stands glowering as the fielders run to bowler Ben Coad but umpires decide that has grounded before it went in to Lyth's hands.

Replays show that was the case (quite comfortably) and there is no way Lyth didn't know that.

  18. Division Two updatepublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 25 May

James Bracey has gone at Wantage Road, caught off Luke Procter for five, and Gloucestershire are 241-6 in the 74th over, 228 behind.

Kent have now advanced to 268-4 at Derby and opening bat Ben Compton is into the 140s.

  19. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 25 May

    Surrey 279 v Essex 217 & 261-3

Tom Westley flicks Tom Lawes to square leg where a diving Sam Curran is unable to hang onto the chance diving to his right - the 'wrong' side for a left-hander. Relief in the Essex dressing room.

  20. wicket

WICKETpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 25 May

    Haynes c Duke b Coad 43 (Yorks 159 v Notts 228 & 299-5)

Great reactions from behind the stumps from Harry Duke as Jack Haynes gets an inside edge off Ben Coad.

Duke has plenty to do but manages to change direction and dive to his left to pick it inches off the turf.

It is not going to materially affect the result you would think but Yorkshire still have to believe that they are in this contest.

The players were only off for 10 minutes for that rain by the way and it is looking all clear now.
